I've been shooting wolf and Tula ammo for years at the range and no one has said anything about it. It's magnetic because the outside of the bullet is steel. But inside of the bullet is lead which is a softer metal. Ranges are ok as long as there's a lead core inside the jacket. This is a very common misconception in the gun world.
I'm excited that they're making it but in my opinion they should have skimped on the packaging. And used sealer on the cases. Give the buyer a cheaper price.
I’m pumped it’s boxer that’s a nice surprise. I’ve been converting Tula to boxer!! I wish it was small primers instead of large. Steel actually reloads good. Feels like brass. Small primers are 20% - 30% cheaper
While I understand that you are signing the praises of the quality of the manufacturing process that is a mood point. In the end what is the overall performance of the ammo. What is the velocity range and the standard deviation? How does it compare to another American manufacturer like Federal American Eagle which the AK 4774 operators union touted as being a premier ammo. You need to test it using a ballistic chronograph, otherwise it’s all talk.
@@Quality_Guru Shut the F up. Your trite while clearly attempting to be heady reply was rude. Interesting how a snowflake wilts when given some of the heat they so eagerly share with others.

Will you please let me know where you are getting brass for .45 CPR. I would love to buy a lot at that price, but I haven't seen that price in a while.
For the past year or two I’ve been wanting some kind of AK, been really interested in a zastava. But the ammo situation really steered me away. This might change my mind. Although if I were to get an ak I’d rather get a 74 in 5.45 I wonder if aac is planning on producing that too
@@JadedJet did you think one company releasing loading cartridges was gonna solve an entire ammo shortage for that cartridge? Calm down buddy, Rome wasn’t built in a day
@@rsagmil i mean, we are talking steel case here. If I can get brass case FMJ for 45 cents a round RIGHT NOW it shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to get steel case for 25 cents a round when buying cases of 1000. I'm super glad for what PSA has done for us and I hope they keep it going but 45 cents a round for steel case that doesn't even have free shipping is too much. Most indoor ranges still won't let you shoot steel case even though there is no steel in the bullet itself. Because of this I myself am still sitting on a pile of Wolf steel case from 5 years ago.
@@ShizawnSandersmy point was that no one is selling steel case for anything remotely close to 25c. Ammo seek has cheapest at 42c (before shipping, etc). I'm jealous of your stash. I got into this after the "glory days" of dirt cheap ammo and as such have never experienced any of these "i remember when" prices. It gets annoying hearing complaints with price when this ammo is right in line with the current prices. If people are truly gouging then having a new supplier will bring the cost down through competition. At least that's the silver lining (or cope-ium) that i am focusing on.

@@Matteo_ not yet. I’m waiting to see what happens with our current joke of an administration. Plus I’m waiting to see if ammo prices start coming back down, and wondering if reloading components start coming back in abundance and prices start stabilizing to make it affordable to do it.
I will be honest. I did not believe that US ammo made with US components by US workers could come in at 45-50 cpr. I still prefer to pay 60 cpr for reloadable European 7.62x39.
This is a very good price for what it is. I agree. I don't see any defensive rounds like the Sabre available for less than 55 CPR coming in from Europe though. I actually can't think of any current defense import x39 at all.

I’m guessing the “Black Tip” will be more expensive than the FMJ, because it’s “self defense” ammo. For a better price point, it should be marketed as a polymer tipped hunting round. Marketing it as such will dramatically increase sales margins.

What is the projectile diameter. 308 or .311
After CWII in the rebuilt Smithsonian, PSA will enjoy their place in history.
its kinda wierd that they would put the steel case ammo in a tray when aac 5.56 brass is loose in the box.
I hope you do somegel tests on the blacktip plus I would like to see it sold in bulk. Like 1000 rds at a time, cheaper than any brass ammo I can get.
PSA is awesome!!!
I wish there was greater munitions advancement in 7.62x39, but perhaps now that PSA is producing some we may get a greater verity in this ammunition
Whatever. This was a first look review. Go be rude elsewhere.
@@2aEdu Being rude is having a different perspective than you? Interesting to see how you treat others in the 2A community.
@@Quality_Guru Shut the F up. Your trite while clearly attempting to be heady reply was rude. Interesting how a snowflake wilts when given some of the heat they so eagerly share with others.
Looking forward to the comparison between Tula , and the rest of the US made ammo
Personally, I’ll keep getting brass cases because it’s the same price or less. I picked up some recently for $.45 per round. Still excited for the future of it when ammo comes back down.
Although if I were to get an ak I’d rather get a 74 in 5.45 I wonder if aac is planning on producing that too
This did nothing to help the ammo situation. Sold out immediately and at the same inflated price of nearly 60 cents a round for steel case
@@JadedJet did you think one company releasing loading cartridges was gonna solve an entire ammo shortage for that cartridge? Calm down buddy, Rome wasn’t built in a day
Total chad move by PSA.
I love PSA
25 cents a round for fmj right?
I said in this video where I have additional info including price.
Your in La la land
If you own a time machine then yes
Been hearing they’ve been suffering quality control problems since with this stuff. Hopefully they get it together before the 5.45 release
Well the Soviet Arms stuff is out of stock... of course
They still have the Sabre black tips
I would love to see PSA package the ammo like milsurp stuff. Would be super cool and easy to stack deep. Also want to see gel tests on the black tip. Looks kinda like Hornady
Good deal I’m happy love it
Can get brass case for 52 cents a round free shipping which is cheaper than this PSA steel case ammo once they get done gouging you on shipping
Where is this brass cased for that price?
I have a GF3 coming later this month I’ll be buying some PSA ammunition
Nice!
I got a blem GF3 2 yrs ago, liked it so much I bought a 2nd one. Still haven't found any blems. You will love it. Quick adjustment of the front sight was all that was needed....
@@samgamgee42 from all the reviews I’ve seen the GF3, is a really good firearm. You don’t need a $15,000 AK.
I appreciate your enthusiasm and like American manufacturers getting in the game. But who really GAF about packaging😊 I just hope it’s cheap.
I for one like the packaging. I may be the only one. But there is an answer to your question.
Russian 7.62X39 has been Boxer primed since the late 1990s. They haven't used Berdan primers in commercial ammo in 25 years.
That isn't true.
Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. Got a few boxes of Tula and Wolf here that are Berdan primed. The two flash holes you can see just looking down into the empty case is a dead give away
And 0 in stock on the website. That's super helpful
But it is actually in stock. That is why I said checkout my Locals posts.
Are these cases reloadable?
Not a reloader are we? 🤣
@@Matteo_ not yet. I’m waiting to see what happens with our current joke of an administration. Plus I’m waiting to see if ammo prices start coming back down, and wondering if reloading components start coming back in abundance and prices start stabilizing to make it affordable to do it.
Some people say you can, but I've never tried.
Im diggin the Tella ammo pretty good🎉
I haven't looked at the price yet but something tells me its still +50 cents a round
@@2aEduppu 123 sp. great on deer!😊
@@Gary-kc9hx last ppu soft point or Hornady black I got. Was 16 a box for ppu and 20 a box for the black sst.
Though I agree 45cpr is high for fmj steel. Hopefully when they get ahead on production it comes down some
Hey according to psa's website... it says the cases are reloadable
@@PrezUSMC prob need a specialized die set for steel.
Omg, it popped up and it was gone. Maybe I’ll get some next time !
Black tip is still avail. Check my Locals page.
I’m guessing the “Black Tip” will be more expensive than the FMJ, because it’s “self defense” ammo. For a better price point, it should be marketed as a polymer tipped hunting round. Marketing it as such will dramatically increase sales margins.
They should reduce the packaging and give the reduced cost to the consumer, Stoked for this ammo
Yes!!!!!!
Been waiting on this Ammo i was Worried about Not being able to shoot my Choppa lols
Did they use magnum primers for all weather do they max to round out on velocity
Magnum rifle primers in an intermediate rifle round? 😂🤣
