    I just bought the shocker hitch for my F350 to pull our 6500LB (dry) camper. This thing is awesome. I almost forget my camper is behind us on the highway. You are correct about the weight distribution hitch also. I don't use one as my truck swayed way worse with it.

    OKAY, OMG, your right!!!! I bought one and have had it for 2 weeks. I tow alot intown. This hitch made pulling a trailer MUCH nicer! Their residential roads I drive on that I can't drive more than 10 to 15 mph. Just because all i feel is that bang, bang, in the truck. Well, not any more! I caught myself doing almost 30 mph. I was like, omg, the roads aren't dictating me doing the speed limit anymore. Since the ride is SO MUCH better, my equipment isnt bouncing much. The trailer doesn't either. Even when I had to get on the brakes hard, I not feeling that jolt of the trailer pushing on the truck. Even leaving from a stop light and being a little heavy on the gas, I'm not getting that jerk of the trailer. The best way to explain how great this hitch is. It's like your truck and trailer are 2 separate entities and your just tugging the trailer. I can literally write a book on how great this hitch is on everything it does to make the ride MUCH more pleasing. Last thing. I know your worried about someone stealing it. Well, they have a company they will refer you to that makes lockable pins for all 3 place. One for the hitch receiver and 2 for the ball and they all use the same key for the 3 pins.

    They are great hitches. I've had mine for about 3 years now. Goose-neck 41' Living Quarters horse trailer. 4 horses and loaded to go to competitions, including my '12 Ford dually crew-cab, we weigh 32,000#'s. Made all the difference in the world. Still not sure my air pressure is quite correct in the bag, but it's working so good compared to without it. Bob was very vague in helping with the amount of air pressure I should run. Basically he said you have to play with it to find the sweet spot. I understand as every trailer and pickup combination is different. Great and helpful guy though!

    Hey man I had the same issue with mine! Equal-i-zer hitch on a 20 silver Ram 3500 with a bed shell!! Towing a 22’ flying cloud 30 bunk Airstream. Funny to see the same setup here! My WDH bars just didn’t do much for me and they were a waste of my time. So I went with a GenY Boss torsion hitch. Only thing is it doesn’t have sway control, so you feel you needed that with a dually? I don’t. And why didn’t you go with Gen Y over this? I like this but I was worried about that constant adjustment and leaking air potentially. Where as the 10k genY boss with the Airstream 1000lb tongue weight should be a dream. I haven’t towed yet just got it. Maybe this week.

    How did your old hitch work with the 3/4ton? I have a 2018 ram 2500 and want a smoother ride. I'm considering the shocker hitches but no sure which way to go. Another WDH, or just the style you have with anti sway.

    • @TheLongLife
      @TheLongLife  5 місяців тому

      So depends, does your truck squat a ton??? If it squats really bad with the trailer I would go with the WDH... If it doesn't, I would go the normal shocker with the anti sway. I tried both and there is a HUGE difference between rides. Both smooth but it's night and day difference between the WDH and the normal. If you need the WDH to level your truck out go that route. I didn't need to because we had a dually at the time. Now we have a Ford Powerstroke, I added rear air bags to level the truck and it rides so nice between the air bags and the shocker hitch. Safe travels 😎

    • @philblock
      @philblock 5 місяців тому

      @@TheLongLife we currently have a Fastway E2 WDH but I hate all the chucking and bucking. The truck doesn't squat a ton tho before I put on the anti sway bars. I like the idea of that shocker 8" drop with the anti sway tabs and friction bars. We may get a larger travel trailer so I could just add a 2nd bar if it's over 10k pounds. We just got our trailer last year. It's a 2024 Bullet 287RLS and has a 8800lb GVWR. My truck has 3000lb payload capacity so it rides pretty rough and doesn't squat a ton with the trailer, but it already has the WDH ball on it.

    How are you addressing the anti-sway issue? I just bought a new 2022 Ram Dually and I will be pulling a 30 foot Airstream Classic with it. I won't have the new Airstream for a few months and I understand I don't need weight distribution on the 1 ton like I needed pulling my 25 foot Airstream with my 1/2 Chevy.
