Do you prefer these to the gx2 ags? I have those and the 15 ags and was wondering if it was worth getting the 16s since it’s basically an offspring of those 2. The new ultra ags have really got my attention
Ultra AGs look excellent. Haven't tried them but they are very interesting. What will be the best way to clean the white gripknit? I usually used soap and a soft tooth brush but I have to do like many scrubs and rinses to show just a decent clean. I saw your shoes and the white gripknit looks nice and clean.
The first advantage I had is that I've only used them on AG, so I've found them a lot easier to clean than if they were getting mud into them. Nice video. I have a question, why do some football cleats have different branding on the same type of cleat? For example a had some total 90's years ago and on the outer side it said "air zoom" but I've seen your review on that boot and instead of the "air zoom" yours had the "90" logo on it? And I've seen some that say "total 90iii" on them so that's three different versions. Would you happen to know why that is?
Can be one of 2 things. One is that they're different tiers, elite, pro etc as we have now, there are some boots that had extra features that would have looked different despite being top end also. The other is a graphics update. Most Mercurials do this still now, the Vapor 13 is a good example, launched with all the big text and then got a graphics update half way through it's life and that was removed.

would u recommend i could wear the elite verson of these boots if ive fit into puma ultra elites just fine? i have pretty wide feet and dont want to waste $260 just for my feet to hurt. i tried the vapor 15 but those hurt my foot way too often.
If you're talking about the current generation of Puma Ultra Ultimate they are probably slightly higher volume and slightly wider than these, however, these are going to stretch more to accommodate your foot with the soft material. Either way I think you should be okay.
if i have a narrow foot should i get the vapor 16 or 15? if i get the vapor 16 would the upper stretch over time to become looser and not as a tight fit as it used to be?
All boots will stretch out over time, both of those are reasonably well structured so they shouldn't overstretch. The 16 is more flexible and more likely to mould to your foot, but the 15 is a slightly narrower shape simply due to less material
Could you tell me if there is any slippage in the toebox area when you make sudden cuts or stops as it so soft and it feels like your feet would touch the upper
That's mainly going to be based on your foot shape and what size you buy, and what I'm talking about with lockdown. I don't have issues with my foot sliding forwards in the boot. If you have that issue definitely check your sizing. There should be as little space as possible while still being comfortable between the end of the boot and your toe.
I don't have specific info, but, I'm assuming they're not going to release a pro in that pack in either the copa or the predator. They don't always release all the tiers in every colourway.
Legend 10 has a tighter forefoot and is less flexible. Overall I'd say there's more width in the vapor, but it's all about your foot shape as to what will suit.
They wont last one season if you play 4-5 times a week. If you play on artificial grass with black rubber pellets your vapor 16 will be impossible to clean after 1 week,, after 2-3 weeks they be looking like hogs that rolled around in dirt all day, you will have the same problem if you play on natural grass,, wet grass or dry grass doesn’t matter that gripknit is just impossible 😊to keep clean and it effects the grip on the ball since the dirt penetrates the poors and surface of the gripknit it goes from sticky grippy to a dust layered not so grippy very dirty upper that makes your brand new vapor 16 look 2 years old and worn out, but it is not worn out just yet . Best Vapor upper ever !! NO.. NOT SO. I think that the upper can or may pass as semi soft but it’s not soft soft, and it isn’t adaptive too your feet, it creases and buckles quite a bit depending on foot shape. I have to disagree with you on that upper opinion of yours James 😅.. James I think you need to put your feet into these boots,, Vapor Vlll, lX, X, Xl and put them too play tests and compare them old uppers to the new uppers. Best vapor upper ever is simply the Tejiin synthetic material. Now I am all for the best performance function when it comes to tools such as football boots, but they also need to be comfortable to a degree. But comparing uppers only Tejiin is the winner and by far. I think Nike should have sorted out durability issues ( upper & sole plates) and worked on refining those Tejiin vapor models 8-11. By now they would be indisputable heavy weight speed boot champions of the world… having the best synthetic boot on the market today…. In doing so it would have carried over into the other models from Nike.
You won't lose the grip, it's very durable, just wash them the same as you would any other boot. But, like I say in the video. They're very, very hard to clean, especially from use on natural surfaces.
That's totally dependant on your own preference. I personally like the 8 the 13 and the 10 probably as my top 3 in no particular order. But, a lot of people might put these top, or the 11. A lot like the 9 more than the 8, it's all preference
i was so upset when i tried vapor 16 pro at nike store , wore my size 46 eu , and they have a lot of space in thumb area ,the heel are shaking and boots dont slim foot well( My vapor 13 pro in same size feel better and like envelop foot , why vapor 16 made more wider feet i dont have idea
Im the 20 percent cuz it has less protection than the superfly 9. Why is mercurial getting weaker and weaker overtime :(( I picked them bc of their protection. I had experience with the phantom and overtime my foot hurt cuz of out it was weak in layers and protection. Thats why i moved to mercurial. Now mercurial use the gripknit. Making it weak and less layers n protection :(( Why are they getting weaker?? 2. Btw do you think the nike diamond logo in the mad brilliance pack would peel off overtime? Cuz its not printed in the boots like other football boots. Its like a different object sticked to it. Do u think it would peel off?
Realistically boots aren't built for protection, they're built for providing a certain touch on the ball, if you're just looking for a thicker upper then check out some older style classic leather boots. As for the mad brilliance I've not had any issues with my Luna swoosh
@@BootWizard True. Like the mercurials have turned from Flyknit to Gripknit. Is the mercurial vapor 16 different from the phantom gx? Maybe it hurts my foot bc theres a sock thing in the phantom GX( I bought phantom gx). While vapor 16 is all gripknit.

James I think you need to put your feet into these boots,,
Vapor Vlll, lX, X, Xl and put them too play tests and compare them old uppers to the new uppers.
Ok ok I'm here. Time to start a fight! Lovely video man.
Hahaha, gloves up, round 1 😂
Got a pair and sold them to get another pair of 15. 😂 Hate the feel of gripknit on the ball and they feel loose compare to the 15
Fair enough, at least you know what you like.
What about hard natural grounds?
Depends how hard. If you're talking about a genuine HG surface then it's very much still a case of you don't want the FG boot
@@BootWizard yes, like… it doesn’t rain for months 😂😂
The AG version with rounded studs could be better?
@@carminem5277 yeah the AG would be better
Is it possible to get custom-made boots like the pros that fit perfectly?
Unfortunately not. There is a company imotana that do offer a similar service, but, they don't seem to have perfected their materials quality yet.
@ yes i know them, they are 20km away from me 😅 some of my teammates worn them but i don’t like the design.
thank you :)
@@elfmeter10 no worries
how do you wash them??
i'm worried about washing them cos I don't want to lose or weaken the grip
You won't lose the grip, it's very durable, just wash them the same as you would any other boot. But, like I say in the video. They're very, very hard to clean, especially from use on natural surfaces.
@@BootWizard thanks
Great review btw
@@feyi8 thanks for watching
What’s the best mercurial ever overall?
That's totally dependant on your own preference. I personally like the 8 the 13 and the 10 probably as my top 3 in no particular order. But, a lot of people might put these top, or the 11. A lot like the 9 more than the 8, it's all preference
My favourite is the Vapor 11, does everything so well and no Bs.❤
@@Eason_lau yeah, exactly what I mean, it's all personal preference 👍
i was so upset when i tried vapor 16 pro at nike store , wore my size 46 eu , and they have a lot of space in thumb area ,the heel are shaking and boots dont slim foot well( My vapor 13 pro in same size feel better and like envelop foot , why vapor 16 made more wider feet i dont have idea
They're generally aiming for a boot that's going to be more comfortable for more people so have gone for a bit more width overall
Vapor 16 or phantom gx2
Depends what type of thing you prefer. They're quite different boots.
What's your foot length? I'm a but in between a US 7.5 and 8. My feet are about 25.7cm.
around 25.9, I'm not surprised you're inbetween sizes there. I would expect you could wear the 7.5 based on length only, but it's a tough one.
My friend, have you heard of Sokito? 25.7 is the perfect measurement for you and they have that exact size!
@@BootWizard of all the brands I tried, I found that only Mizuno fits my feet best in 25.5 JPN sizing. Nike is too long, Adidas is too short.
@@tommyhonggg sometimes just depends on the boots rather than the brand
I had a really wide feet but also a thin heel, been using the tiempo 8 and 9 for a few years. Always wanna try the mercs, maybe my time has come
Might be worth a shot!
@@Fabian_42 they're very different (GX and Mercurial) both in terms of shape and also how the grip knit feels
@@BootWizard Oh, The gx gripknit is different to the Mercurial gripknit? Is the newer phantom gripknit different from the GX? Mercurials still using vaporsite+?
@@Fabian_42 current mercurial is gripknit but it's thinner and less grippy than what you'll get on the GX2 And Luna2 and both are different from what you got on the original GX. Also there's no vaporposite on the current mercurial
I just played my first game in a pair of Vapor 16 elite.. basically, if you have narrow feet and really liked the fit of the Vapor 15, DONT GET VAPOR 16.. they are horrible and baggy! The sides are just disgusting and I’m just ending up with a load of super thin bunched up material were they have ruined the fit.. really not happy!
I wouldn't say they've ruined the fit, it's going to work for most people, unfortunately most people doesn't include narrow feet. I can see why you had those issues which is a shame :(
@@BootWizardI returned them yesterday and got some more 15 AG.. I know for sure they will crack but I’ll just keep sending them back 🤷♂️
@@leexr2i 15 AGs definitely a risky choice!!
Update.. my new 15 ag cracked after 8 games
@@leexr2i get them sent back for a replacement asap!
Best Vapor ever is the 4.
Interesting call!
Serious amount of wear? 💀
You're trying to say what exactly?
