I have worked on a similar amplifier like that 1 before and I learned one thing. If you replace the SDK power pack, you'd better off replacing both of them. Because 3 months down-the-line, the one that you didn't replace is going to burn. Out cause that's exactly what happened. I replaced one side. And 3 months later, the other side burnt out. So you'd better off ordering another one and replacing both sides. Play it safe and replace both sides at once. Just like when I do an older Applifier I replace the transistors on both sides to make sure that it starts off with a whole new set of transistors. And this way, it doesn't come back later on. And customer will not be screaming at you. You fixed it, and now it's broken again. You take care of both sides at once and you won't have to worry about it.
You are absolutely right. Pretty sure if i fix the one channel, on loading the other one is going to fail in a few days. Sure when you fix stuff for customers you want to get all the stuff that can fail out of the equation, because if something fails after a while most of the times is not your fault but you have to take responsibility if you want to limit hashle with the customer. Anyway, Thanks for tuning in and commenting! Have a great day!
Be sure to check part l of the repair to follow the video at:
