I remember this series ,actually it was battle between Justin Kemp and Pietersen 😃 and in every one Kemp and Pietersen used to fire for there sides and finally Proteas won series...but that was a peak of cricket when we had Gillichrist,Kallis ,Tendulkar ,Lara, Bevan and plenty kind of cricketers
We had the greatest childhood mate. Not like the jokers we have today with smaller grounds and lenient fielding restrictions. In those days 300 was a huge target. Now its a joke, even 400 is easily achievable chasing
@@marksman9249 It's not though. There's only been one time in history when 400 was chased and that was when odi batting was harder than it is nowadays. Also, even though I don't like the fact that cricket became very batsman dominated, cricket probably would've lost a huge amount of popularity if scores in ODI stayed as low as they used to be.

I was in school during this series. KP got huge hype in this series due to his Performance and his hair style as well. Cricket was game back then. KP justified that hype.

One of the best match I have ever watched.
Commentator was saying that 77 runs in the final 10 overs, as if its a big deal. In todays cricket its a matter of five overs.
The boundary was 1.5x times bigger than todays boundary
the boundaries where way bigger and one ball was used due to which ball used to get softer and was harder to hit plus the reverse swing and there was no rule to have five filders within the circle u could have 9 filders out of the circle leaving the kipper and bowler. looks like ur a 20-20 time born watcher ur just kid ur comment proves it.
Don't know how Graeme Smith lasted for so long and so successfully in international cricket. Didn't have a lot of shots in his armoury.
That's always been my issue with him. He had clear and obvious weaknesses. He always looked uncomfortable while batting to me. He did perform though, which was really confusing, but good. He did what he could and it worked for him.
Cook had a cut, pull and glance off legs. That’s it.
