I think that sniper you found would be a gnarly gun to carry, like an assassin type build. That makes me wonder what sort of mid/late game build you're looking for. I feel like you should be immune to infection from getting hit if you’re wearing power armor. Also I’m so glad my favorite character paladin brandis is still alive and survived all those encounters with supermutants. I sure hope nothing happens to him.
