Latrell is the $1,000,000 fly in the ointment.
The Roosters secured two premierships with Trell playing at center, but when they shifted him to fullback in Souths, his performance dipped significantly, with him underperforming around 70% of the time. It's like the saying goes, expecting different results from the same action is insanity. Trell should return to playing center, plain and simple.
Additionally, he should receive fair treatment like all other players. Lastly, JD should also be replaced.
I think it’s a tactic of Latrells, almost like he wants to get suspended.

Putting Jack might change your attacking structure but it might also help your defence and Billy points out it's currently the worst on the comp. One area Wighton adds massively is his kick chase and that starts your defensive set on the right note. Cody might not be a halfback, but he's still the best 7 the club has. He certainly wouldn't be playing 6 for NSW if the team were picked this week.
Cody is worse than Ilias at this point. Most overrated player in the NRL. Never been great. Too inconsistent and in and out of games, now washed up and lazy. He used to be good but never great unless his team is dominating
The blame lies solely at JD's feet, he has allowed 2 players to dictate how the team trains and plays, LM and CODY well below the standard they should be and Cookie is just not doing it, I feel for Cam only player really giving his all, I think Big Sam's stay back home will be short
well we wont have Mitchell fore 4 games so maybe the new fullback can play good ,cement himself a permanent spot at fullback and when Mitchell comes back he can slot into the centers.
There are enough experience players at Souths to be better than running last. There’s definitely a disconnect between the players and the coach. Definitely disharmony within the club.
It's easy to point to Trell but the whole team system isn't working. Makes his job much harder, hell even Cam Murray was dropping sitters. I think JD is gooooone

Every time I watch the Laterell event I see the same thing - he attempts to push off with a straight arm flat hand but the hand skids on the shoulder causing the arm to collapse under contact with SJs shoulder hence leading to a forearm hit and not an elbow hit. If it was an elbow SJ would have been out/dazed with the force

Latrell is done…… He started the season clearly unfit and that affects the entire squad , no matter the reason. From a novice point of view , he’s between 3 and 5 kts overweight and in pro sport, that’s just unacceptable and inexcusable. It’s rd5 ! Aside from that , his attitude farkin sucks , for a team sport , that’s a cancer. These thing’s only favour and are accepted by those fortunate enough to be in Mitchell’s position. A lot like , say willie mason, these polarising players , make or break , seasons, coaches and clubs……

Coach has got to go and not strong enough to keep big personalities in check. Latrell is a symptom of a weak coach. Trent Robinson had him in check and made him play centre at Roosters where he was at his best.

I honestly can’t believe we’re still having this farcical debate about whether Mitchell needs to go back to centre or not …. This was blatantly obvious at the end of last year. And here we are still debating it.
As a Souths fan, moving Cody to 7 is not the way forward. This will likely be a tough year, I don't think we can turn it around easily. I like the idea of Trell in the centres and and hopefully Grey goes well at fullback, but it's hard for a debutant to excel immediately as we've seen with other young fullbacks and playmakers recently.
Johns put it best, Cody is not built to steer a team around and his biggest strength is heads-up footy down that left side. Where you end up with Wighton, Campell Graham and Trell is going to be very tough, I could see Wighton getting squeezed out. Despite absolutely loving him as a player, I was never convinced with the Wighton signing. We've let a bunch of good forwards walk and significantly weakened our pack, and the lack of go-forward means our backs look even worse than they are despite them being out of form regardless.
By the way, easy to be overly critical. They've been near the top of the comp for the last decade. Every team has down patches, just look at where Penrith were before this dynasty. It's a shame we couldn't go all the way while our window was open but it might be time for a rebuilding phase, blooding some young talent. The cap caught up to us and we had to let too many good forwards and our best halfback walk.
I don't want to pile on Latrell, there's no doubt he's a great player. But the brain snaps just cannot happen anymore, he rubbed himself out of the GF which was our best opportunity to win it all when he smashed Manu and broke his cheekbone, which was one of the dirtiest acts I've seen in a while. He's a great player and by all accounts a very good natured bloke off the field, but it might be time for the club to go in a different direction.
Billy may be onto something, maybe you play Wighton at 7 and see how he goes.
Moving Cody to reserve grade is better. Overrated and washed up, was never a star, only turned up when team was dominating. Inconsistent and at his best was good not great

As a Warriors supporter who saw the foul play in this last game, I want to ask, how much of this ill behaviour is a result of a downward spiral caused by a unanimous hatred of the guy? No person on earth could endure the hate that he's getting. I don't know where it started, maybe it's warranted but I don't know, but every time I hear an entire crowd booing him it makes me sad. We're a nation of bullies, and we've created one. He's expecting to go into a game and get abused, so he's fighting back, and of course it eats away at his health. An average man would have disappeared by now. Show him love and he'll show it back.

The Souths players are gagged at talking about the 'elephant' in the room. So their frustration is shown on the field imho. The coach is not coaching he is protecting one player and ignoring the team as a whole.
