    It is not a "holographic 3D display" like you say. The image is still flat and not 3D, you should mention that.

      Do you know of another type of holographic display? I mean real holographic display, not something from a movie. In the really world, this is what a hologram is.

      @@DigitalMetal It is easy to Google and find holographic 3D displays, but those are not cheap. It is clear that the item in the video is a holographic 2D display, so the statement of the author is a lie. That was what my comment was about.

    In your video you mentioned the device only cost $13 but that is only for the glass cube.
    The whole device will cost about 4x times that amount.
    I think you did that deliberately to keep the audience interested, thus way they will keep watching the video and you will be rewarded for that.
    So in my opinion this is LAME what you are doing here.

    This cube wouldn't work as a red dot sight. Red dot sights have a concave lens (negative meniscus?) that reflects rays of light that aligns the dot with the point of aim, regardless of the position of the shooters eye. It allows for faster target acquisition. Having a computer system like this on weapon sight would be handy and super cool, but it would require a more complex lens design.

      It's a flat image hovering in 3D space; it's nothing new. It's effectively the "Pepper's Ghost" trick we've had as far back as the 1860s. The image itself has no 3D depth to it, unlike with stereoscopic glasses or a Nintendo 3DS.

    This would be perfect to mount on a rifle as a "smart" red dot optic.

    • @tombackhouse9121
      @tombackhouse9121 5 місяців тому +1

      To work properly it would need to be collimated. The point of a proper red dot sight is that it contains a collimating lens which makes the image appear at infinity, so it cancels out any parallax from moving your eye slightly off axis; this does not do that. The image appears near the back face of the cube. You could add another element if you could find a lens of the right focal length, but it would make the assembly much deeper and / or magnify the apparent size of the image to the point that you would lose usable resolution at the edges.
      I don't play with guns but I do have a red dot on one of my astro scopes.

    the prisim display was always known about but the lenses and the screens were not up to the corect quality as you see here we are diplaying simple images but in fact very complex data can be shown ( reality can be changed fully ! ( they did not want to relase this ) hence when google glass came out they blocked it super quick ! to day we are implementing the augmented reality and the miniture screens are comming available : So the old CD Trick with your mobile phone to display a hologram is not eneeded but this works on the same principle ! So In fact we have AI glasses now ! Bluetooth ! So we could now pass audio visionnn and a voice actuvated sytem controller to the system : hence we only need a python backbone operatig system to make a drivers to connect to these devices handle sound and vision as well as camera ! We thought that the interfearence would indeed be a problem but the enhancement is nothing after a while and to be withou them seems strange !
    Sp weare gettign towards an open sourced areana in nwhichthe regular folk of the owrld can become creative and devlop peornsalized produce : even the glasses !
    SO the race should be on to create the blue tooth glasses first , simple audio input and output and visal input and output ~! ( ie a remote controller and use this controller ( without CPU !) only a remote device ( for safty ) .. but in truth we have seen the reuction inn size of the mobile phone and even chipless phones ( MONITORED LINES < UNDER GOV CONTROL !) .... so we are in a direction !
