he looked like he was dead inside in Brawl but later he got some life in him.

no one here knows what he’s talking about. dedede’s down tilt in ultimate for a buff since he can turn it around. even if he’s crouching facing right, he can down tilt to the left side

@Juanez Fernandez 0907 I mean, most characters have a back aerial that's "just a kick", but that doesn't mean they're not great moves. Brawl Dedede's back air had fast startup, strong power, long lasting hitboxes, and pretty good reach. It also had pretty low ending lag. It had some noticeable landing lag (21 frames I think) but it wasn't really too much of a problem.

@Juanecio Fernandecio After a bit of research it's INSANELY good. It has basically no endlag and lasts forever. It can be done twice in one short-hop and combo into itself at low percent. It's considered one of the best overall moves in all of Brawl.

Quick note on dedede's up special in ultimate: when cancelled, he does an animation to flip upright before entering freefall. When he hits ground before this animation completes, he stumbles and trips, like shown. If he manages to flip upright before landing, it doesn't leave you as vulnerable.
