Felix Brown Those Family Feud staff were mean to him and the only loyal person to him was Mark Goodson (who later died in 93 of Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 77). But after he died, his son Jonathan took over and he was laid off by him. After his final episode he just walked away without saying anything to anyone.
I@@INDLIS I saw an interview with Jonathon, He said Feud was on the verge of being cancelled and he was pressured to make a significant change to keep it going. Someone suggested bringing Dawson back and that got a mixed reaction from the staff, but he did it anyway. He said he now wonders how much that decision ultimately played a factor in what happened to Ray....:(
Dont know if anyone cares but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend these days :)
That's true, his family was left with so much debt they didn't have the money for a proper funeral for him, Johnny Carson wrote Debbie a cheque for $25,000 to help pay expenses
Ray Combs was one of the funniest guys he had a different kind of humor i think he was one of the best hosts on family feud his episodes are my favorite.
Should never be the case with parents living out their children. He seemed like a nice guy, but had a lot of problems. I liked when he hosted the Feud. Rest in peace Mr. Combs
That's not how Ray Combs died according to the E! True Hollywood Story in 2002 also from the news when I heard it back in summer of '96. He hung himself in his hospital bed closet.
he had some big shoes to fill in Richard Dawson I don't think he did a very good job too much of a clown and the fact that he left his wife with six children shows you what kind of person he really was
I'll be a little nicer.... Depression is an ugly thing and it clouds your judgement. Ray had a lot of problems: Both of his comedy clubs went out of business. He was hundreds of thousands in debt, His wife had filed for divorce, He had been in a near-fatal car accident that left temporarily paralyzed and was frequently in pain from it and struggled to find work (he was type-casted after Feud) and sources say he never liked Family Challenge but took the job cause he needed the money. Not justifying suicide but "he had a lot on his plate."
Blue in red. To be fair, he’s NOT wrong. leaving your wife with six kids and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DEBT is a really fucked up thing to do and does show Ray Combs to be a fairly fucked up and selfish person.
@ Marc Power - I'm sure the poor guy was more than a bit embarrassed abt all the negatives happening at once. He clearly saw no other way out. Pity. If only he had filed bankruptcy. He could've kept his house & vehicle, wiped out credit card debt & waded along until the tide turned. RIP
@@marcpower4167 What's crazy about it is that I remember seeing the show "Family Challenge" as a little boy and was drawn to it because of it being the odd child of "Family Feud" and "Wild & Crazy Kids." As for Ray, I had faint memories at the time of him hosting the Feud; years later, my mother told me more about him and then it made a lot more sense.
He needed help, but the hospital was useless.
WTF
It's always bugged me, He was put on a psychiatric watch but hanged himself only a few hours later...…...he wasn't supervised very well.
Unless the hospital had millions of dollar's to give him, they were no benefit to him.
Six children.
Fired from FF, broke with wife, lost home, lost businesses, physical pain from injuries from car accident 😣
@@FranPett He killed himself while he was on suicide watch. That’s just negligence.
Felt so bad for Combs.

@@marcpower4167 And the full final episode is on UA-cam as we speak.

He should've filed for it. He could've kept his house, wiped out the credit card (& other frivolous) debt & hung in until the tide turned.
I remember this day well because I liked him hosting Family Feud & it was the same month my baby sister was born.
Rip Ray, 25 years ago today ♥️
rest in peace ray combs 1956-1996 40 years😭

RIP...died too soon. I pray his family has found peace
on Saturday 4-3-21, he would have turned 65.
Ray Combs was one of the funniest guys he had a different kind of humor i think he was one of the best hosts on family feud his episodes are my favorite.
on this day 23 years ago, Ray Combs died. Sun 6-2-19.
It's a shame he chose NOT to live before the third milennium. And I was born in 2000. What a pity.
yeah he could of met you took the better option
@ Benjamin Smith - 😂 Good one!
Indeed 😢
Wow - they really didn't know how to report a death by suicide back then.
I believe that if Ray Combs hadn't committed suicide, he would have been the next host of The Price is Right had Bob Barker decided to retire.
I think he would have been perfect for that.
By the time of Bob Barker's retirement in 2007, Ray Combs would have been 51 years old.
@@riley1049Drew Carey was 49 when he took over The Price is Right.
What’s even sadder is that Ray’s parents outlived him

Why dont hospitals watch people
because of idiots more obsessed with profit then care. Sad but true
sad of ray
On Monday April 3 2023 he’ll be 67

That's what the guy just said 0:16
r.i.p ray combs jr 40 years
Where is his ex-wife now?
on sunday 4-3-22 he could've been 66 years
ouch
I actually read that he was MURDERED! I found a website that wrote how his death wasn’t a suicide .
Who wanted him dead?
