- Great counterattacks and exciting moments on the final colours.
Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Paul Hunter, 2005-1 Premier League, Group stage.
Two editions of the tournament were played in 2005 due to changes in the tour calendar, but they correspond to different seasons:
2005-1 Premier League, Jan-May 2005, season 2004/05
2005-2 Premier League, Sep-Dec 2005, season 2005/06
2006 Premier League, Sep-Dec 2006, season 2006/07
...
Tournament format:
The Premier League group stage was played in a round-robin format. 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. In the event of a tie, the number of frames won counted. The top four then played best-of-9 matches in the semi-finals and best-of-11 in the final.
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.

Paul could've been a world champion if he could stay with us. Rest in peace young man.
Just read his wife's book she wrote back in 2008, it's heartbreaking to know how it all ended 😢😢😢 Rip Paul
what had happend to paul ?
RIP
@@ayoub-laghari he sadly died of cancer in 2006
@@kendall_knows_best2872
Sorry to hear that .so sad .
RIP paul
Rarely do you see Ronnie talking to players after the match ends but he was laughing and talking to Paul great to see that
he used to tour with paul and jimmy. they were all good friends.
Yeh they were cool with one another
Still upsets me that we lost Paul Hunter. Was a brilliant, exciting player with a great temperament. Even tho he might have been playing an opponent I supported at the time, I never felt bad if he won. Just an honest, likeable guy. The world is a poorer place without him.
Eanna Butler brilliant comment👍 Agree wholeheartedly.
I'm new here to watch snooker i don't know about hunter can you explain me about him what was happened with hunter?
Welcome to the channel. Unfortunately Paul passed away. Cancer. Very sad. One of the most loved players. He was a true gentleman. Fantastic snooker player too.
It's very sad😥
So true.....
Hunter was already battling cancer on this day. Few months later his hairstyle had to be like ronnies on this day. Hunter passed away just a year after this match in 2006. Ronnie paid his respects. Maybe the Rocket knew what Hunter was going through. Slipped away 27 years young would ve only been 41 now in 2020
Ronnie looks like he’s just come from giving Tango lessons.
Paul hunter could have been one of the all time greats had he still been around, a great player in my eyes.
We've missed loads of great snooker from Paul he'd have pushed Ronnie all the way in some of them finals that he's won.
RIP Mr Hunter you was great for the sport 🙏❤
RIP Paul...You are still alive in hearts
So weird seeing snooker played in clothes other than a waistcoat and bowtie lol
Closing Sheffield Crucible
Can anyone tell me if this is true
I've been told they want coronavirus certificates to enter
The Sheffield steel boys are going to picket the venue..
@@andrehulse11 They will not require vaccine passports/certificates. At most they will require proof of a negative coronavirus test in the past 2 days. If you have tickets they will probably provide this test for free
@@andrehulse11 funny how no1 picketted it at all
I really missed Pual Hunter, David Beckham in snooker. He was a talented player ☹️
only that beckham is still alive
Don't insult Hunter.
@@wiktorrr6868 Well I think he meant that Hunter was that kind of figure in the snooker world when he was with us. Don't be rude.
Great player , I really miss watching him play, brilliant sense of humour and an infectious smile RIP Paul
I firmly believe almost 20 years later we’d be mentioning Paul Hunter as one of the greats of the game, in the same breath as Hendry, Higgins, Williams, O’Sullivan, Selby, Trump & Robertson.
100% agree. He was one of the few players that Ronnie genuinely respected and that should say it all
He was definately the most interesting Player next to Hendry and Ronnie back then
Красавец Пол Хантер!!!Вечная память прекрасному человеку и спортсмену!!!!
R.I.P, what a legend!
Your class editing is much appreciated 👍
8:22 excellent shot by Paul.
Saw Hunter and Mathew Stephens at a B and H final (10 + yrs ago). The atmosphere was electric. I remember it was when you could smoke inside. Hunter was a fubulous player. Very missed but never forgotten.
super safety from ron at 5:13 with swerve, missing the double kiss off rail and in behind yellow.tap on table from hunter.ron's genius and paul had so much more to show the world.
Imagine the battles these two should've had , so sad
Hunter looks like a movie star
not anymore
@@boxanoose1658 lol
Always reminded he of Ken out of street fighter. Its a massive shame he never got to take on higgins n ronnie n Williams n selby n trump long term. He would have won a world chsmpionship or 2 at some stage.
Both look like if they stepped out of ‘Highlander’...
She is pretty
What an amazing shots from Paul
👍 merci pour la vidéo 😉
2 legends Mutual respect
Paul hunter was a great player. Paul hunter was for me the magical momemt 2 play snokker since 2015 who i was 15 years old. I really missed him. Rip
Even these guys benefit from some good editing. Well done.
unforgettable
Oh my,,, Paul, keep knocking them balls, God bless your soul.
A bit hard to recognise Ronnie with his No.1 haircut !! P
I remember this like it was yesterday 😔😔😔
I at times think of Hunter were still be alive and kicking today then he'd have outshined Ronnie on any given day... Such a gem, gone too soon.
Like he did that day?
@@atiphwyne5609 Not watched much of Hunter tbh but just watched him beat ronnie 10 - 9 in masters. No denying he was a great.
Agreed he was a great you cannot win three masters titles and not be one heck of a player. But I think Abhishek is engaging in a little bit of hero worship. Ronnie O'Sullivan has won more Triple Crown titles than anyone. He has superseded even Stephen Hendry. So if he could outshine Ronnie on any given day, why no World or UK titles, and why were they tied on head to head matches when he ( Paul) unfortunately passed away?
@peter richmond A truth that some people find hard to acknowledge. I agree with you, if Ronnie can beat Stephen Hendry at the Crucible 17- 4 and I watched that match. Hendry didn't play badly and he wasn't in decline as at the tail end of his career. He just ran into Ronnie at his magical best. Good call.
Wonderful
2 legends in one picture
Miss him. I think he'd have given Ronnie a good run for his money over the last 15/20 years and also another the player we would have genuinely loved like we do Ronnie
18:01 brought tears to my eyes.
R.I.P Paul hunter Legend
12:24 Hahah that dude in the audience
Paul Hunter is one of the best snookerist's ever!
Magnificent Paul.
Very nice
5:05 "Where's the cue ball going?!"
Haha was thinking the same but no one said it
Lol
The man with the Golden cue ❤️😇✌🏻 RIP 😓
RIP Mr Hunter Amazing Memories Of A Fabulous Player
Wow Paul hunter is such a great player if Paul hunter alive he was the greatest player of the snooker
Woow, nice game
The Hunter Will Remember The World Forever ❤️.
Paul Hunter was the Federer of snooker. Imagine Fed passing away in 2003. Sort of the same scenario here. Paul had a very stable character and would have remained the best for a long time. The world misses you, Brother. There are always bigger and deeper reasons things happen. Sad...
Fine match
Sorry to hear Paul Hunter passed away - while I love watching O Sullivan play, Paul Hunter was undoubtedly a gifted player, and very entertaining to watch.
Tony Wardle when?? Its really sad.
Paul Hunter was a boss 😎 I remember when he hammered that Fergal O’Brian making four centuries in a row. And in his interview he said he was nailing his lass in the hotel room between sessions 🤣😂😅
I really miss that bloke, and awesome player
I feel like if Paul had continued to live on, he might have continued to give Ronnie a run for his money. He's a brilliant player, and a very strong attacker in the same style Ronnie is.
He would have stacked up those Masters trophies! I wonder if he could have unlocked the magic at the WC like he did at the Masters?
@@dominicstone8109 I have no doubt he should have had at least one or two WSC titles. I mean, he also practiced constantly with Matthew Stevens, and he's no slouch either.
I first ever cue as a youngter was a Paul hunter cue use to love watching him. Mad to think what he would of accomplished. Rip PH ❤
And RIP the English language
I wish you're still alive, Paul.
You passed too early.
In snooker world , Paul will be always remembered. R I P .
Class acts!
RIP Hunter, Great player and a proper pin up boy in the snooker world
RIP hunter missed in the world of snooker
Nice
paul hunter was amazing
Even Ronnie seems enjoying this match with Hunter. Great match anyway 👍
Nice game
I've only seen Paul hunter recently. He would have been the richest snooker player in history. Broke my heart when I read his short life story.
It’s only when I see players playing in casual gear that I think to myself, that just ain’t right, get a shirt and waistcoat on.
Such a weird thing to think.
Don't blame the player, blame the game.
You are a moron
@@haroonrashid9900 Well this is devastating news.
@@misterc5783 I really want to know what you did to deserve to be called a moron 😂😂😂😂
Paul hunter was not only great in snooker, his style and look was best in all.
Ronnie is the Mozart of snooker
Rip paul such a great player what a big lost to game talented in every area of the game he would of been world champion thats for sure.
I saw the tiger on table, he was wearing black. There was a less focused snow leopard too, he was playing well
I almost forgot how cute he was - So sad he left
Love Paul Hunter - miss you
Good game
17:32 the moment shown on thumbnail
What a beautiful man ,rip
At which point it was counter attack?? So any flame is not win by one visit consider as counter attack?
Ronnie looks healthier at the age of 45
What a sad loss, RIP Paul
Snooker world be so much more if paul was still with us
Imagine the Crucible Finals Paul and Ronnie would have had of Paul were still with us.
He was some kind of similar to Ronny. So sad, that he now plays on another Table.
Another table?
@@AR-82 it's a deep comment.... He he talking about Paul's next life
Played a fella in Wyong leagues club championship back in 79 : Gary Marquet, poor buggar also parked up early..God love him!

There is only one Ronnie O'Sullivan! He has been competing with best of the best and still remained undoubtedly better than the rest. Huge respect for Paul Hunter as he was an amazing player but nonetheless there is only one Ronnie O'Sullivan!
@@ismailfarooqui8203 yeah I'm not arguing at whether Ronnie is best or not. All I'm saying is that he was a great player while he was just getting started . Such calm and cool guy as well.
@@ismailfarooqui8203 if hunter was alive today no way would o Sullivan be winning all those titles period and Ronnie knows it
There are some players snooker can't forget.
Well played Paul 👏
17:20 shot of the match
Ronnie looks like de Niro’s stunt double for Taxi Driver...
RIP Paul Hunter
I played in a 9 ball ranking event in Leeds a few years back and he was playing Tony Knowles on a table downstairs, guess who the majority were watching..Sound chap, great player and a shame.rip.
It seems as if snooker is a 'game' for some players sometimes, like Acting is a game for some actors, and O'Sullivan has made it his life, which only 1 or 2 actors in the whole world really do in each generation. He has snookered himself into wanting it more than anything else (than, I suppose, his family). It's a kind of sacrifice. a surrender. Maybe there's not a word. J.
The best o'sullivan
Very fortune win
Britney Spears ended up in a mess of trouble when she did that with her hair.
Hunter looks like an Elf from The Lord of the Rings.
Who is watching this in 2021 ?
When you're playing snooker at 7 and hitting the clubs at 11.
Why amazing personalities with the name Paul died... Paul hunter and paul walker😶 were true legends
2:32 Ronnie missed this because he played as close as possible to the red that APPEARED to be obstructing the white instead of playing the shot.
But it turned out he was abĺe to miss the target red ball by undercutting the shot.
Thankyou Rabbi
