In my experience, aux outputs are always usable for subwoofers, since subs have their own built-in crossovers. I've never yet had an aux output fail to work with a sub.
But there is no volume control (this is not a pre out), so you need a chart on paper with matched volume settings you figured out. And a subwoofer preferredly with displayed volume and remote control to perform these settings.
As others have noted already... and based on the manual and their website, AUX OUT is a stereo pre-out attenuated by the volume control on the unit. So... Can you use a sub? YES, Can you run PRE OUT/AUX OUT to a stereo power amp YES, can you run a pair of Active Speakers from this output YES. - and even if there is no SUB out on a piece of gear, just find a sub that accepts speaker level input, problem Solved . Inexpensive High pass filters can be found if you want to limit the low frequencies going to your main speakers and match the crossover point with your active sub. Hope that helps.
Out of curiousity....Where did you get that from (confirmed) with that AUX labeled attenuated pre out? Manual says "AUX", rear panel indicates "AUX" conventionally referring to "line out", that's the only thing at least I know.
May I ask more about this. So I have a sub out amp but I want this amp. Will I be able to put a 3.5mm on my sub cable and it'll work properly? Is this amp designed to have a sub? I can't understand why they wouldn't just put a sub out.... Actually 2 sub outs

It’s got to stop. 🛑 NOW 😂
I was where you're at about 5 months ago. I kept trying to make them sound "right" and they just never did. They don't sound bad, really, but they just don't sound natural to me. One happy outcome was that I ended up with a glorious Cyan 2 dac in my quest to "fix" the amp(s) - it was a huge improvement but still not quite on. I finally just went with a quality class A/B amp with about 80 watts and my goodness, it just sounds so nice. I have completely lost my urge to shop for new stuff, as I'm truly happy now.
TRS - Tip Ring Sleeve. It means there are three electrical contacts in the described locations. Technically I think you were describing 1/4" (6.4mm) TRS as a typical 1/8" (3.5mm) or "mini-TRS" is also TRS. I've seen the ones that include a microphone, with four contacts, described as TRRS but I do not know if that is official.
I'd get that vu meter add on instead. I purchased two Fosiaudio Z3's for bi-amping my coming Emotiva XC1's 2.0 configuration. Your a terrible influence on my wallet good sir.
My friend keeps blowing the fuse on his old maggies. He says because the amp has too much power. You can hear the distortion when he cranks it. I told him that the fuse was blowing because of clipping. He doesn't believe me and boy does the Aiyima get hot.
I’ve been to concerts that have been 115dBa at the booth, which is crazy. Probably 130dB plus up front. I mix audio myself and it’s common to do that in tin can building and arenas to hide the horrible room sound and reflections.
I’ve been been nurtured, bought up with high bias class A-B amplification. It’s what I know and love. It’s what I’ve invested thousands in. A couple of years ago, my girlfriend and I, gave up our separate homes and moved into a new home, together. For a while, whilst we settled in, much of my stuff, including my hi-fi, went into storage. As a temporary measure, I purchased an ‘all in 1’ hi-fi system for around €600. It included class D amplification and an ES1938 DAC chip. It was shockingly good, for the price. A few months later, when I’d got my hi-fi out of storage and set it up, that class D unit became surplus to requirement. Despite it being in imaculate condition, perfect working order and under guarantee, we could not sell it, or give it away. Nobody wanted it. It had no second hand or resale value! I think that’s the potential issue with the current trend toward inexpensive hi-fi. It doesn’t hold the value of its class A-B siblings. Is almost treated as ‘throw away’.
I've had no problems selling either surplus SMSL, Topping or other small stuff yet. Not at all. Traditional hifi equipment on the other hand have become more and more difficult, nobody seems to want it due to size.
The first brand I owned was the Fosi BT30D. It got very hot, and after prolonged use, it would start stuttering. I then upgraded to the BT30DPRO, but it had the same issue. Next, I tried the Fosi ZA3, and the overheating issue was resolved because its TPA3255 chip is integrated with the casing body. Now they've released a model with a display, which is truly impressive.
Thank you for making clear AUX is actually variable or "pre out". Seemingly unavoidable that very same question has to come up with each and every device released, time and time again.
Just got into my home audio, after getting the ok by the wife to get rid of the dang soundbar, starting out with the Sony STR-DH590, and Sony SCSS5 for speakers, I’m going to fall into an endless pit with this one, I did it with headphones after stopping at HD800s now my home audio journey begins. 9:13 "it doesnt have a subwoofer output". the amazon site you linked states that the aux output is for active subwoofers. What's teh correct ansower now? Does it have a sub out or not.
Yes, you can definitely connect an active subwoofer to the Aux output from this thing. Just need to adjust the LPF on your SW as this Aiyima will throw full range.
@@johnnyJoe10 Well there's no volume control, unfortunately it will "throw" full volume, too (it's not a pre out). Therefore requires a subwoofer with displayed volume, volume adjustable via remote control and a chart you made with matching volume settings for both devices.
All of these manufacturers represent their aux-output as a sub output and really that's fine -- as long as your sub has a low-pass filter, which not all of them do.

Correct. But it's just generic 3.5mm TRS stereo auxilary output, full range, no cut-off. Chinese products are getting better over time. In about 2-3 years, brands like Aiyima and Fosi might be priced the same as the ones on the first-tier list.
Not a fan of these little screens which are popping up on components. Next to useless at the listening position and will soon look very dated. Also, will be next to impossible to get replacement screens in a few years.
my point is if i need an outboard power supply, then im going to just run some nice 90's class A/B car audio amp and a head unit on the desk. find a nice pair of ads L400's
This misses the mark for me. Put in a ess9039, hdmi, arc and a streamer since a screen would actually kind of useful. Aiyima has done another silly thing, like the A70.
I always stuffed toilet paper in my ears when I went to concerts :D It at least worked well enough to keep my ears from ringing afterwards. But all these little chip amps...gosh I can't help but roll my eyes at this point. I DO like the sound of the TI chip but ffs coming out with all these tiny iterations over and over again is getting silly. Someone needs to do a veritable moon shot with these chips to absolutely max out the performance, features and sound quality, and just let that be the end of it.
sounds pretty expensive tbh. i mean, without even looking up measurements, i am already 100% certain, its 99,9% exactly the same as basically all the other 10000000 small chifi class d amps. On top of it, tbh it looks really ugly. it looks incredibly cheap...in a way you would imagine cheap china stuff to look like. at least some of the fosi minimalistic metal cases look somewhat okay. however for that price? i dont know man, call me outdated, but you can get a hell of a lot of integrated amp power for 230$ on the used market. My trusty Kenwood Amp is now 35 years old. it still run great, it still looks great, it still sounds great. and i payed 20$ for it wich is even greatererer. not in a world would i trade this guy for one of those little copy paste amp tincans. And here is something really interesting, what people should actually think about for a second. People like Randy and every other YT Influencer in the world is raving about those little chifi amps and how they ''kill high end audio and make everything obsolete'' and how ''they sound no different than my 15000$ amp'' BUT... why are you YT guys then not using these things in your main system if they are so great instead your big oldschool class a/b a amps like you showed in the video just aswell. i see people reviewing them, but i see NONE of them actually USING them. that alone is a big redflag entirely. if it kills high end audio and sounds just as awesome as your 2500$ amp... why do you have a 2500$ amp in your living room and not this aiyima? someone could speculate that YT Influencers also get money for making other people buy stuff because they are basically modern salesman
on amazon in the photos it shows an "Aux" output with small pics that say "Amp + passive speakers", and next pic says "Active Sub", does anyone know if you can play the sub and the normal speakers at the same time, or not, because its a dedicated Aux Channel

It might be the coolest but it is in no way, shape, or form the cheapest class-D amp that Randy has ever seen; that was kind of an arresting thing to say considering that the channel's Beatles-on-Ed-Sullivan moment was when Fosi redesigned the BT-20 per Randy's feedback, and it's a tiny fraction of this model's price.

I’ve had tinnitus for 25 years when it goes bilateral in both ears that’s me screwed for a couple of days so be careful with decibels and certainly don’t stick Apple AirPods in your ears😢
Give me a simple, robust DAC / pre-amp (or even amp) with a simple fluorescent or LCD alpha-numeric display that can be dimmed or turned off, all connectivity (USB, SPDIF and HDMI ETA >> even an analogue-in as long as a decent ADC/DSP processor does the job) and a remote. To hell with all-singing all-dancing mini OLED screens and all the complexity needed to drive them. SMSL Sanskrit III comes close but no HDMI.
What exactly, means - "...doesn't sound as good as - the more expensive amp...." ?? - Many of these tiny amps MEASURE extremely well, but reviewers, always tell, that the more expensive amps, sound better - even if those amps measure worse.... So - in what way this one sounds not as good as the big one -assuming you run it with a max possible PS ??

Thanks Randy!
Thanks Randy! Love everything about it, just wish hdmi would’ve been standard by now, or at least an option, still pretty cool tho…
Daddy is sending a new request to Santa this year.
Hmmm, this would be perfect little amp to run my front L R towers in my 5.2.2 setup! Bonus VU meters!
or run a powered sub old school via speaker connection
Is the AUX out fixed, or variable?
variable
I will keep my FM 300 A thank You...
I screwed up my ear drums. Got new gear…Leaning over to plug it in…ear next to speaker…didn’t check the on/off or volume…well, plugged it in and immediately knew my ear drums were toast. I’m on week 2 and still very painful. Doctor said drums were torn and about 6 weeks to heal. Gave me antibiotics for 2 weeks. Be careful you crazy audio freaks!
@@s.daniel9224 ouch..
Always take care, some amp combos can really loud,..my arcam can be set to always switch on at any level ,mine is set at 40db and max 80db ...
Meanwhile, hope your ears get better soon .
Get well soon! It's virtually impossible not ever in decades to experience an incident with unwanted full throttle volume setting, hot plug by mistake, broken ground, or related issues. One moment of poor concentration, tiredness, and....booom!
TRS looks like it sounds. Tip, ring, sleeve.
I wish I saw this video yesterday
Why that?
my point is if i need an outboard power supply, then im going to just run some nice 90's class A/B car audio amp and a head unit on the desk.
find a nice pair of ads L400's
Nice sweatshirt, where did you get it? My Dad is a retired submariner and I think he would love one
(edited) Under Armour Silent Service Tech Men's USN All Day Fleece Hoodie
I e been fooled by all the Fosi Audio amps 2x already.. they just don’t sound all that good . Save a few more bucks and buy something better
Replaceable op amp chips: RT3609SM, OPA2604, OPA2134, LM4562, JRC5532, OP275GSZ, OPA1612, etc.....
Looks pretty cool 👍🏻
This misses the mark for me. Put in a ess9039, hdmi, arc and a streamer since a screen would actually kind of useful. Aiyima has done another silly thing, like the A70.
The picture is a bit dark on this one.
Subwoofer? High level inputs on sub.
sounds pretty expensive tbh. i mean, without even looking up measurements, i am already 100% certain, its 99,9% exactly the same as basically all the other 10000000 small chifi class d amps.
WiiM for the win 😊
That sound test pissed off my dog lol
Same
Looks like statement "will fly off the shelves" is a bit late. Theres a 1-2 month wait time at Amazon :(
Por favor implementa las traducciones a español para aprovechar tus análisis, tus seguidores somos también de Latinoamérica, ayúdame a entenderte. Gracias
Closed captions shall appear later automatically, YT needs some time to analyze the clip, maybe one or two days usually it takes.
2:05 I need these so I don't have to listen to my wife.
No LDAC codec support unfortunately.😒
At first I thought you said Lube Quiet…… 😅😅
I don’t think that it’s going to fly off the shelf tho😂
I’ve too many cool stuff on my desk and very few good amps worth mentioning.
Oops. The aux out indeed works as pre-out for subs, adjusting up and down with the main volume.
Im buying it, right now 😂
Anything that has to go in my ear canal doesn't fit.
Love the Navy Hoodie!
Where did you get that?

Yes. A sub hunter that knows that submariners are the best. Silver Dolphins on their chest....
It's the new Wiiiiim NeverSolo A80. When will these doofuses realise the display needs to be on your phone/tablet, in front of you, NOT on the unit ten feet away. Oh, I forgot that SW is too hard to do! I'll stick with my Fire tablet & Echo Link until THEY get the message.
Don't drag Wiim into this, it has a fantastic app.
Sorry, I said it on a whim. The're not the worst offender.
Isn't this unit a bit overpriced, considering all the competition in this 'mini amp bt gadget' corner of the market?
Well, if it wasn't for the Covid vaccine my minor tintinitus which is now exacerbated by the vaccine I wouldn't need these and not sure I could use them now. Do I regret getting the vaccine nope not when I've got a few more years left.
I’ve had tinnitus for 25 years when it goes bilateral in both ears that’s me screwed for a couple of days so be careful with decibels and certainly don’t stick Apple AirPods in your ears😢
Amazon says ships in one to two months? Sorry no go
Randy, you have to have been tired filming this. I KNOW you know aux out is the defacto sub-out for cheap amps. C'mon, man. Get some rest!
Damn no HDMI ARC.... sigh.
Omg you need a ear rape warning for that tone sweep 😂
Interesting option! Let's grab a cup of coffee and ser what you think about it!
Agreed. Let's grabba-gabah-gaffe!👍
aux out not for subwoofer? cmon randy, you're slipping
Wow…
No HDMI arc input 🥱 This thing is dead before arrival imo…
What exactly, means - "...doesn't sound as good as - the more expensive amp...." ?? - Many of these tiny amps MEASURE extremely well, but reviewers, always tell, that the more expensive amps, sound better - even if those amps measure worse....
So - in what way this one sounds not as good as the big one -assuming you run it with a max possible PS ??
They should pay me for having to listen to a two minute ad. I lost interest in whatever else was on the video.
It's too expensive and doesn't have a sub out.
@@Edward-Norton aux out works as sub out every time.
Ships in 1 to 2 months ... LOL
