Functioning Reed Switch: the reed switch is an electrical switch operated by an magnetic field. It consists of a pair of ferromagnetic flexible metal reeds contacts in a hermetically sealed glass envelope. The contacts are usually open, closing when a magnetic field is present, or they may be normally closed and open when a magnetic field is applied. The switch may be actuated by an electromagnetic coil, making a reed relay or by bringing a permanent magnet near the switch. When the magnetic field is removed, the reeds in the reed switch return to their original position. - Розваги
The reed switch is a switch that is turned on/off from a magnet. It is turning on and off the DC circuit every time a magnet passes by causing it to spin faster and faster until the battery is drained from the electromagnetic field.
Nifty trick with the reed switch.
THE COIL SO BE TALLER, LET BLOCKING BY THE MAGNET!
This really work fine, thanks
good guide about Electromagnet work
"Reed switch"? That video had a mistake.
I also think so
Bedini who invented this motor was a legend
I am trying to make this project but it is not working. There is somehow a mistake.Plz help urgent
I generally can't tell where the error might be by not looking into your project, sorry.
Well done 👍
Thank you so much!!! I was able to make my project because of this video!
Hey can u tell me for what degree course u made this project ...?
So, make a flywheel that has more mass and is much larger. Across from the coil thats pushing the flywheel put other coils that generate electricity. Run that current into another battery or batteries. It works.
Ok good
will it continue to spin even if the battery run out of power?
I see neodimium projectiles becoming a problem at some point
“That switch was switched” 🤣
(Turn on when clicks off)
This actually works I did it and turned out amazing 🤩
Wow! Nice video.
Helped for my project work in science exhibition thanks
Came from electrobooms liked videos playlist
ahaha, I was just watching him and was spinning a fidget spinner when I thought of looking this up.
Flyiing no fuel thanks for idea😂😂
Should the copper wire coil be enameled?
Should it be 180 turns?
Should it have a on/off button?
Plz answer fast my science fair is on this Sunday it has 50 marks!
The wire is enamelled, with 180 turns. The power button must be there.
What is the thing which to attached to spinner that brown stick name pls reply fast at Wednesday my fair is their 100 Mark's
Interesting that the buffering symbol on this video is a fidget spinner, hadn't seen this youtube easter egg yet.
Ciao is
how did you connect the reed switch to the wooden stick and the circuit and what is the use of the reed switch in this circuit
woah maybe i'll make this one day
I want full video,but I like it.
This was going to be a project for my science fair. I really liked it when I first saw it. I researched about it and tried to learn the fundamentals. I even went to the shop and ordered everything brand new! I was really disappointed to find out this thing doesn't work! This experiment doesn't work.
Make sure all magnets are pointed the same direction. Like N out
@@FPChris bro I tried everything. Hopeless.
when i did my experiment, it hapened the same to me Because i did not scrap the metal (you know some wire have the insulate layer on it right so you MUST scrap it out otherwise it would not work
Thia should work may be you are doing something wrong.. Specially check the continuity of wire and voltage and check the reed switch and its funtion.
@@shahzadadil774 How to know if it still works or not?
if they adapt this system to dam turbines, small amount of electricity enough to create electromagnetic field to turn the turbines it may double the effectiveness or not?
I do not know this, I can not give you an answer..
Read laws of thermodynamics first
Serkanbah ...it’s already in use, this is basically the same principal as any induction motor.
Hi man, can you please tell me that the spinner moves very fast like the reed switch dont need to setup in the project because the spinner moves fast it might take minimum 8-10 rounds in 1second. so the reed switch is just connects the circuit right ? Then why dont just directly connect the circuit without the reed switch so the circuit don't need to on or off multiple times in one second causing the battery to drain quickly please answer me
Can you tell me that is reed switch is important tell fast because on Thursday is my fair ...and it has 100 marks
Nice job. :-)
Hi :)
electronicsNmore hereby request has the ability is an excellent work with
How to keep the reed switch
Video not completed recorded some steps jump in video
Hi I wanna do this as a project but how/with what did u attached all the wires together and do I need a reed switch
this is amazing !
Great job! I love science .

È bellissimo!! :D
Sir can you send me file of this model i.e on which principle it works ,uses, working etc. about this model
Beautiful :D
ill try this but not work for 1.5 V battery. its work 9 V battery
Do you make the same coil?
Think , if magnets would have only one pole , free energy
HOW DID U SET UP THAT REED SWITCHH??? PLEASEEE I NEED THIS FOR MY PROJECTT!! 😭😭😭
Buy it online
Sir can u provide me a circuit diagram of it
you could add a few more wires and a few more parts and create a charger out of it as well...thank you for the ideas..u ROCK
May I change the type of magnet? by using a decorative magnet for the fridge?
Second stick jo paste ki hai us pe kya lagaya hai
what can be the significance of this? I need ideas for my project.
Cool !!
Instead of reed switch can we use anything else??????
Really cool
awsome
Hi is Reed switch normally open or close?
Почему не нагрузил, хотя бы светодиодом??
What reed switch does in this awesome project or what is the function of this reed switch in this NICE video
The switch interrupts and connects the current at the right time.
The Reed switch is activated (turned on) every time is in the proximity of a magnetic field, allowing to synchronize the passage of current at that moment. As the magnetic field moves away, the switch deactivates (turns off) until another magnetic field appears in its proximity. The difficult part is to find the optimal position of the Reed switch, relative to the spinning magnets. Usually that optimum spot makes 90 degrees among the rotation axis, the magnet and the switch.Watch "Fidget Spinner Brushless Motor" Parts 1 and 2.
Inside an NO (Normally Off) reed switch, two wires are very close to each other but not touching. In the presence of a magnetic field, the wires touch each other and the circuit is completed. In this way, as the rotating magnets get close to the reed switch, the wires inside the switch make contact, current flows through the copper coil creating a magnetic field which, in turn, gives a push or pull to the magnets on the spinner. The very small reed switch is enclosed in a tiny glass case, and it has a wire coming out of each end of the switch. Be very careful when bending or handling the wires on the reed switch because it's very easy to break the glass case. Usually, the technique is to use long nose or needle nose pliers to hold the wire where it comes out of the reed switch, and then bend the end of the wire however you might need to. If you hold the reed switch while bending the wire, you'll break the glass case. You want current flowing through the copper coil only at the right time, as each magnet approaches the coil, and only for an instant. The reed switch is just a simple on-off device for completing a circuit only in a magnetic field. As soon as the magnets on the spinner go past the reed switch, the switch opens and current stops flowing.
Switch ke paas Jo lag kiya laga he hai woh kya hai
Can u tell that on which law it is based as I have to make hai project report on this can anyone help me that how I can make hai project report
Would have been nice, if you had vocally described all of the steps.... A few steps missing and no discrimination or diagram of the finished product...
Waooo Nice project ....
What is a reed switch?
Reed switch is magnetic energy based
When magnet comes near switch on
When magnet moves far then switch off
Hey, I have a question, will the emf produce by the wire have the same force to the centripetal force action on the fidget spinner?
Why you dont show after attaching copper wire .
I want to make the project thats why i am asking any one can tell me.
Plssss ?? I need to know tooo
you didnt even show how to set up the reed switch
Have you tried to put a dynamo on the spinner and see if it can power itself?
I think if you could amplify the dynamo output and power the coils, it might work.. but heat might be a problem
As far as I know, dynamo draws energy from the kinetic energy of the spinning object. It would slow down the spinner and finally stop it. This is because of the wastage of energy which goes out of your system because of wind and heat. So, the more closed your system is, longer the spinner runs. At an absolute 0 energy wastage, your spinner will spin forever.
Can u plz give the working of this model
Hi
Amazing👍👍♥️♥️♥️😏
Hey Don't worry I fixed it thanks for all the help
also does the magnets have to have the hole in the middle we bought same diameter but in whole
No that is a mounting hole. People screw them into wood etc to hang tools etc
Vo spinner ke bahr ke magnet ke pole konsa hai north ki south
As always! Exellent!!! Thank you! (tasosne)

I'm sorry man, I just keep on asking questions. One more thing, what do you classify this project as: a DC Motor, Generator, or one of the others??
Homopolar type more and less..
how to connect reed switch plzz ans quickly
What does this reed switch do ? Do we need check polarity of magnets ?
The magnets can not be inverted, or all in positive, or all in negative.
Electric Experiments Roobert33 I have got .5 in.12.7mm magnets without mark. Wondering how can I find positive negative in such small size . Also does 180 coil of 0.4mm is necessary. Mine is working but only for fraction of seconds .. not sure what else to add to keep it running like yours .thanks
@@abhaygwaliorkar7325 If yours does not work can be various problems. Unfortunately only with the comments I can not help you, I'm sorry.
What is reed switch? ??????
Why cell is used...only magnet nd copper wire coil can develop electric
The battery is essential for operation.
hi we have tried many times to make this work we bought everything on here can you help describe a little more of what we may be doing wrong my son really wants to do this for a science project thanks
9 months later so I guess it's too late but you/he should do more research on the principles of electromagnetic induction - gaining an understanding of what's actually happening (as far as the physics involved) can help you determine what might not be happening and how you could fix it.
What was the total cost
Please explain how to do this in voice over
IMAGINE MANY SPINNER TURNING AS A MOTOR AND GENERATOR TOGETHER! MAYBE SOMETHING GOOD!
wow amazing
Good
bahi jan ah dandi kia ha
It's odd that he pushed the on-off switch off, in order to turn it on.
Because that's how it produces a change in magnetic flux so after that we have a current therefore we have a magnetic field which applies a force in the spinner.
@@juliogutierrez7253 Or, you know, he put the switch cap on backwards...
Do we have to care about the polarities of the magnet??
All magnets must have the same pole facing outward.
Will it have the same effect if you use a magnetic ring instead of coil as magnetic field produced by both will be same
No because you can't turn a permanent magnet on and off which is essential to the function of the motor. That's what the reed switch does to the coil.
If you like to fix the coil on an iron ring plate then it will work, same as a magnetic core.
Amazing video!! what is the purposal of reed switch?
The reed switch is an electrical switch operated by an magnetic field.
Why 180 turns?
Mine doesn’t spin. The magnets on the spinner only pull toward the coil and the reed switch. Any ideas as to why that’s happening?
If you did everything accurately, you have to synchronize the magnets at the optimal point. In practice you have to rotate a few degrees to the left or right the magnets compared to the coil.
So is that what the dots on your base (to which you attach everything) are for - the optimal position for the switch and coil in relation to the magnets?
It all depends on the magnets, that have to adapt to the optimal point in relation to the coil. Unfortunately I can not help you practically, just with comments.
No problem! I appreciate you trying to help! I will play around with the positioning of the magnets relative to the coil and switch. Thank you!
;)
What is the explanation?
I tried to make this for my science fair project, but it still doesn’t work :( . How can I make it work?
are you saying this is perpetual motion?
if yes, THIS IS WRONG. in physics
it is neither a motor nor homopolar, it is a middle way
Dude, he is using a battery. of course, it is not a perpetual motion LOL!
We can use another thing at te place of reed switch
Will it work if i take small size magnets
Hey Bro, I so sad, Can you please tell me what the measurements of the dots on the base are? From the edge till the dot measurements? Not working :(
The precise points change according to the construction of the whole parts construction system. I can not help you away, I'm sorry.
Awesome
How did you set up the reed switch ?? Please answer this question, i badly need it for my hw
Will add to my make it list. Until then, a curious mind would like to know how long the battery will last? I made a homopolar motor and the battery lasts about 6 minutes of continuous spin. Thanks.
Can you plz explain how you make this!
Because i need this for my science project.
We tried it but....
It isn't❌ working!
Give me a reply
santoshi zarkar OMG HOW???
Wow very2 nice❤.
What's the name of this experiment
what is reed switch but good video
Hi
No one uses fidget spinners these day they are so old
