@@thomassparks1293 plup won 2 of the last three sets against PPMD my dude. Only set that PPMD won was a Bo3 in 2015 where Plup could not shield-drop because of a controller malfunction. PPMD would get absolutely destroyed against modern sheiks.

Plus PPMD was declining in health so there are reasons to believe he wasnt at the top his game. What do you mean modern sheiks? Using the incredibly small sample size of only PPMD vs Plup? Plup also has a winning Matchup against Zain who is noted to be really good in the matchup.

Plup had just picked up Sheik after developing Samus for years. At Paragon Orlando in 2015 he was still using Samus because He had not developed enough yet. Evo 2015 He was still pretty new to the character, and had his shield-drops nullified from spilling beer on his controller. PPMD had the clear advantage.

Sheiks that prospered in the 2017+ meta. Consistent shield-drops everytime, Smash DI that would largely invalidate the simplistic PPMD combos, Tech chase consistency, solved edge-guard and combo trees etc..
PPMD made his claim as a Sheik destroyer because of his record against M2K largely, but that was not due to him mastering the Sheik match-up.
Marth-Sheik might be even for all I care, but PPMD is a horrible example to use.
I think everyone's under the impression that Fox wins in 20XX but I'm pretty sure the sheer fact that Fox gets clapped so hard when combo'ed will keep him from ever being in his own tier like MK.

How I see Marth matchups in my 15yrs of viewership is most of his high-tier MU's are 100-100. As in they go drastically either way haha.
not very true. It would make more sense if u were talking about Falco but Marth is a very consistent character. Most of his MUs vs the stronger cast are won in slight margins and near even, like Falco or Sheik are both very close matchups. 100-100 just doesn't exist that's 50-50

That's not music sync
fox and falco have just way less room to screw up while having much more technical demanding inputs, and humans are not perfect. so youre bound to screw up and marth only needs one grab to erase your stock. that said mang0 is just nuts. and i would love to see him level up in rocket league to like champion I, that game is really similiar to melee in that you have a low skill floor but insane skill ceiling.

Mang0 was always of the opinion that Fox/Falco do at least well against Marth. In a previous video he talked about Leffen, IBDW and Fiction making most of the community think it was a bad matchup for Fox since Zain’s rise.

I think Fox is theoretically the best character in the game but Marth is easier to perform well consistently. That's how I see it.

can anyone explain 1:52 to me. (im a noob, obviously).
So when you get hit while shielding you slide a bit and you can pick which directions that is by holding the stick in that direction. Mango lightshielded which makes you slide even further. The marth up b into the shield which made mango slide off onto ledge. This little tech is known as the marth killer.

yeah marth has never been the best character, just the easiest. easiest to pick up at a low level, and now easiest to optimize and play at a top level consistently. you can play "meh" as marth and still do fine because almost every other character has to put in more work to get something done.
Jigllypuff is probably easyer to optimize as long as you have the right mentality.

@@tedbonnot8910 Then you clearly don't play both, they seem the same but perform slightly different, even when they zone the same way there doing it differently if Marth messes up a spacing drift by an inch he's dead where puff doesn't really have to worry that much plus puff genially gets more from less commitment, plus Marth has his issues with killing at high percentage and EVERYONE knows the Marth killer. It might come down to everyone knowing the match up against Marth better but i don't think there are such universal techniques for killing puff.
I would say puff and sheik are easer to pick up and probably fair better at the highest level, I'm tempted to say Peach as well but reaching higher levels is harder with peach despite how i feel about her downsmash
