- this is my brand new car i recently sold my 2020 STI for(i made good profit thats why i sold it), wasnt really feeling this car at first, but now a week into ownership i absolutely love it, hope you guys enjoy the video, i think i've only seen one real custom exhaust video on youtube so i decided to post it for people to see what this beast sounds like with no resonators or mufflers , the stock muffler is so restrictive in my opinion, thank you and enjoy!

I just wanted to leave this comment for you all to give you my 9 month ownership opinion of this car, avoid it at all costs,let me explain why!
1. too overpriced for what is offered, i get it's a BMW but 50k for a small sized sedan that's barely 301 hp? hmmm not worth it at all, so many different cars you can get at that price for cheaper , it's a cool car, it's quick , but it's ugly, so many nicer cars you can get for the price , it's deeply ugly in the rear, i actually didn't think they could make a bmw look this ugly, like it's hideous it looks like that weird pontiac aztec, if they took the 8 series and shrunk it and called it a m235i gran coupe so many more people would buy it, idk why they would think making a 2 series resemble an x6(cross over hatch back suv weird hybrid) lower the suspension and call it a sports m car? lmfao it's a decently fast car, but driving it is just boring, i got sick of the car after a month, it's a good normal car, but a horrible sports car, i tried to force myself to like it but that was only becuz i leased it so it would be more difficult to sell, but now i'm willing to pay to get out of it and sell it then get a used M2 N55 version , it's literally the same price used with 15k miles, way better investment.......now if you get this as a gift just sell it and get something else, stay clear of this car, it's not horrible to drive it's just not an M car, not even remotely close, just get a 330/430 and tune it, shit would be way more fun than this,atleast your car would have a sexy look to it, unlike this weird atrocity of a car,looks like a deformed midget clown car😂😂😂
Disagreed. 3 years in from 2020 M235i and wouldn’t take that choice back for anything! More fun to drive than an M240i. More composed than any 3 or 4 without full M treatment. This car’s a winner and you’re a loser.

all in all, it's a great car, people talk it down becuz they compare it to others rather than judge it for what it is, it's fun and sporty, ignore haters!
@onur menderes i'm personally not too fond of it, they made the proportions too odd for my liking, front end is way too long for a 2 series looks like they tried to make it sedan size with 2 doors, which vid understand on a 8 or 6 series but not a 2, also the taillights look weird and after market ish, although i will admit i wasn't too fond of my taillights i still prefer them over the m240 taillights 🤷🏻♂️ but i do wish i did get a inline 6 in my car lol
how would i go about doing this to my m235i ive haad a 2021 now for about 3 and a half months and its just too quiet but there arent many exhaut options for the car it self

I’ve got a M235i Gran Coupe, I’m confused if I wanna get it straight piped or not but after seeing your video I might consider it as the sound on yours is a beast
actually the video doesn't do it justice, i mean generally it sounds like a beefed up inline 4, kinda reminds me of a fiat abarth somewhat, has that beefy 4cyl sound to it, but the aggressive shift and pops are what make me love it, if you want a little more rasp remove the resonator , but if you want a full blown loud loud exhaust do both muffler and resonator, and you could always just put in eco mode if it's too loud, just remember when u get custom exhaust be sure to keep the valve setup in there, that way u can quiet it down!
don't waste your money. return it once your lease is over this is not even a true bmw.

just to let you guys know since few years has passed more effort has been put into the b48 an it can handle 500hp 580 torque and thats on the non M B48 THE M235I has forged internals and has the same transmission as a 2021 M3 yes the zf transmission could hold lots of power an torque ...so if the 330i b48 non can handle that much power imagine the m235i b48 can pull off ill be working on my engine ill keep you guys updated will be going for 700hp with water air cooling im going for one of the highest power b48 out rite now wish me luck
Hey mate I have the same car ..but on the display it’s shown 480nm and 240kw. However isn’t the actual car 224kw and 450nm ?. I bought it brand new so not sure what’s happened.. I don’t really know much about cars, but learn a lot from this video and following comments. I am going to remove my muffler and resonator, u reckon it would not have any impact on engine?
no impact on engine at all, just make sure you keep on cats that's all!
I’ve got a 2020 228i, I know it’s not eh M235i but you think it’ll sound roughly the same? Also, how do you get the pops, I drive in M/S but when I downshift it never pops. I want to straight pipe mine someday.
it has to be in sport mode, i think it'll pop idk if it'll pop the exact same but we do share the same motor, yours is just under-tuned, and also mines is M tuned, so they added the extra burble map, but i've def seen the 320 and 328's pop hella with a catback , worth a shot, bmws are known for their pops btw lol
The m235 pops and gurgles even with the stock exhaust. I think it’s just the car.

This sounds like a ford focus 1.0 ecoboost with a hole in the back box but I guess that the u.s
I'm thinking about buying this one or the new M135i. How reliable is this car in your opinion? And what is the real average fuel consumption?

Hey I’m the UK we don’t have that screen we have a full digital dashboard. Is this due to the chip shortages?

ya somewhat, but ya just put in eco mode and it'll be very quiet
I have this car too, its so fun to drive, do you think getting the muffler delete makes it pop and gurgle more while driving?
ya i love this car, it's really underrated , every review i see talks shit honestly , i know it ain't as good as other bmws, but bmw in general is still better than a lot of other companies, and i have muffler and resonator delete , and ya it does pop a lot more, i started with a resonator delete first so idk how a muffler delete will be, but i'd recommend it trust me!
plus also get better tips, the box one looks too plain, see if you can get some carbon ones!
Where did u get the little lip from
everything on this car is stock, the lip is an options for gloss black trim all around, i love it!
How is it when you only remove the mid pipe ( resonator ) ?
luckily for you that's what i tested out first, it's just a little more raspy than stock, pops are somewhat similar, maybe a tad bit louder, all in all it just makes the exhaust a little more throaty than stock, but when i removed the muffler it got 3x louder...
so i'd say if u want a bit louder go with resonator remove, if you want it really loud do both

Love it. Such a great car, sadly underrated.
If you ask me, it’s the sweet-spot of the range in terms of price, looks, fun factor and dimensions, other than the bigger M340i.
Finished in grey or black, with beige interior and aluminium exterior trim is a definitely a win. Sporty yet refined.

@@KareemKayy I’m kind of new to cars. I thought you needed parts after you delete the muffler? I have the same car as you and wanted to modify the exhaust
@@AidenWong_ not necessary, think of it this way with turbo cars, the exhaust is broken into 3 portions, downpipe(right under engine), mid pipe or resonator, and muffler the end where the exhaust comes out of, if you remove the resonator or muffler it's all just for sound , maybe slight hp increase , nothing crazy, now if you get a new downpipe, then you have to tune the car which is basically like a. computer type update you use with an app on a phone, that basically tells the car to send more fuel to the engine becuz when u upgrade the downpipe the piping girth is thicker, so you have to send more fuel with a tune to compensate for the bigger downpipe!
if you have anymore questions let me know, if you wanna start i'd recommend doing a muffler delete, and if you think it's too quiet remove resonator , now if you're want big power gains then do the downpipe upgrade, now if you wanna avoid all the custom bs just order a exhaust online!

a lot of sites say different stuff but it's 301-308, something along those lines.

yessir, it def has a unique sound to it, apparently it's the most power inline 4 for bmw:)

You should listen to the gen2 cla45 with an exhaust, that is probably one of the best sounding inline 4’s out there in recent times.
This still sounds good, but not as special as that imo. Of course it’ll be subjective
A mk6 gti/mk6 golf r also have a similar sound to this, but more raw and guttural. Sounds proper

@@GODiscomingsoonagain it's pretty upsetting, this car had so much potential, i think it should've resembled a 8 series but just smaller, it's odd they would copy the design of a x6, even tho an x6 is a cross over, where the m235i is a small sedan(i get it's a gran coupe but still) , the 8 series should've been what it copied, in future bodies if they did that i feel like people would be more obsessed with the car!
Sounds pretty horrible and broken. I'm all about loud, but this doesn't sound like how a BMW should sound to me.
hate to break it to ya buddy, but a lot of cars are transcending to new sounds, u live in the past and compare to all previous models like that makes a difference, i'm not here posting a comparison video to past bmws, i strictly posted this for people interested in getting this car and who were curious what it sounds like!
regardless, i agree it's not the best sounding bmw, but in person it sounds a lot better videos makes it sound ricey, i do have a more recent video you should check out it sounds a little better than here!
When I mentioned "like how a BMW should sound", I wasn't necessarily referencing past or present BMW engines. Simply that, as you mentioned, although it may sound different in person, it still sounds broken, unhealthy, lacking care and maintenance. That's what I meant. It's not an exhaust note or sound. It's a noise. there's no refinement or intention. I dunno, maybe I'm just a romantic, lol.
