The song was originally composed by Pancham, wnd he reserved it for Shammi kapoor. But SK did n,t have work after Andaz, so when Zameer included SK, as a cast, he offered it to Zameer team. Pancham was busy with Sholay, and Deewar at that time, thn he asked his team to back the music of Zameer. He particularly asked Swapan Chakroborty to do the job. Pancham, as usual did not take any credit. In meny occasion, he allowed his key arrangers , Basu, Mnohari to do the music of some films, when he was busy . in those films, basic tune was done by Pancham, in his reharsal sittings, . Zameer is one such example.

Pity we never got this combination together with RD Burman, but this was the closest as music was by his assistant. In my book, these are the GOATs in their field.
