After taking the Himalayan 450 for a test ride, a subtle smile formed on my face, especially impressed by the remarkable grunt above 3000 rpm. This experience convinced me to book it on the spot, eager to enjoy more of what it has to offer. ❤
So I had a chance to ride the new Himi in Goa, India during it's launch event! And let me tell you my friend. All those late nights, early mornings surely paid off!!! It's amazing!!! This comes as a previous generation Himalayan owner. Love from India! ❤
This bike sounds incredible! I'm gonna watch this again because it's easily the best Himalayan 450 video out of the dozens I've watched. Eager for it to get to North America
Awesome video! Beautiful scenery for sure. Royal Enfield do a phenomenal job in every phase. There is one huge thing terribly wrong. The video is not near long enough. If it had been an hour I would have still wanted more. Especially the conversation with the guy from Royal Enfield. Brilliant! Best!
The progress royal enfield has made is quite impressive, in quality and in European sales , there producing bikes that customers actually want thats affordable. Good job royal enfield 😊
This is my next bike. I met Gordon May and a few of the Enfield fellows at the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days last Summer when they brought the Project Origin to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. I was so impressed with their enthusiasm and passion that they made me a customer. Looking forward to an epic 2024.
I just ordered one after a 30 min test ride . Instant grin factor . I think this will be brilliant around the back roads . I was VERY impressed and have had every type of bike !
I rode in the Himalayas, on a Scram. These bikes are soooooo fun. I called it "racing in slow motion". This bike has the exact sound as the previous one. Thank you, it brings back memories.
This is exactly why Chinese motorcycles aren't very good vs motorcycles made in India which seem to be far more grounded with their approach and far better quality than any made in China motorcycle
This video was really something quite special, a tremendous insight into the approach RE took to developing the Himi and Chris’s fanatical riding skills in a stunning country. It was a privilege to watch, many thanks 🙏
Wow, the quality of the video and the initial BGM is awesome. The majestic Himalayas absolutely does elevate the video experience. I had to immediately stop watch the video on phone and move to the bigger screen. 14:19 - Beautiful frame
believe it or not, I first found this bike after driving a 1500w ebike with 26x4 tires. 110 pounds with panniers. After 800 miles I searched for dual sport, small engine Fell inlove with the do it all bike. Royal enfield was the first one to show up in my search. With these huge updates, being able to do 80mph ameican all day.. I have never wanted a bike in a long time, until this one. Really cool to see a guy who had input in the video.
I just had a test ride. The bike was shockingly great! I'm 6ft and long legged, seat in high position ...bloody comfortable sitting and standing. Engine pulls hard all the way to the redline, gearbox is great, screen didn't cause noise for me. Brake are nice and strong, dash is super smart. I may have to get one!
While all of your reviews are an enjoyable watch, the turn this one took with your involvement in the development process made it simply an utter pleasure. For the sake of all of us, keep doing what you do, be it as a design engineer or as a passionate journalist. Cheers, Chris!
I bought an Enfield Meteor 350 just over a year ago and love it anyway at 72 thought this would see me out. This is so tempting, I ride mine in Thailand where we winter, 4 months. The other option is where we live for the other 8 months, Portugal. I have a Vespa there and campervan. But....I GOTTA HAVE ONE!!! I missed out on India and now have heart stents and the altitude is not good news.
What a fascinating video! I love the behind-the-scenes discussion of the bike’s development and of Chris’s involvement in it. Meanwhile, the footage from India is wonderful. It certainly looks as though the new model took a giant step forward from the original. Very well done.
A cinematic masterpiece 😁 How could RE NOT want to get you involved? One of the prerequisites was a psycho Englishman = Chris 🤪 Cheers from Oklahoma, Mate 🤗
Great video Chris! I really like the production on this one. I always look forward to your content. You have such a refreshingly positive aura about you that adds to the quality of your videos. Bike World is lucky to have you. Keep up the good work!
Amazing story. I owned a bs4 Himalayan, now I have a super meteor 650 for a timing but pushed the super meteor 650 in to snow, off-road and mountains 😁. Will try to own this after the refinement 😊
Good job. I've test ride it yesterday and it is a thing of its own. Good suspension, adventure ready and the price....ver very good. A new standard of quality. Congrats!
SOLD - down here in the depths of Cornwall the behemoth adventure bikes are just too big. Been eyeing up one of these. Getting Chris involved is genius..makes me want the bike all the more. Would love to see more of the development stuff as well. Love it.
Brilliant video I really enjoy your videos impressed you have had input into this bike I have sat on one at my local dealership it was a non runner I can’t wait to road test it when available I have owned the original Himalayan back in 2018 👍
This video was simply fantastic. And we you, you mad lad, being part of the design team. I love RE's position of good price and easy riding. I wonder what kind of a shitstorm would follow if KTM actually listened to their customers on reliability?
In the US and UK where riders are willing to spend a little more, I think Royal Enfield would be wise to put tubeless spoke wheels on all of the Himalayan‘s. People like different colors, but we’re all going to want the tubeless spoke wheels.
Thank you Chris for the fantastic review and also for being involved in the development of the motorcycle. Royal Enfield is doing a fantastic job by involving riders of various skill levels to develop their bikes. For me, the gen one Himalayan was the first ever Royal Enfield motorcycle that made me willingly go the showroom to get a test ride. I was absolutely impressed with the bike's performance but, in terms of the looks, I felt that it could've been more streamlined. Now, the package is complete. The new Himalayan looks stunning while delivering more performance. I've been riding motorcycles in India for the last 14 years and yes! It's chaos out here! 🤣 You'll either get hurt or get stuck if you try to diligently follow the rules here!
The only reason I never looked at a Himalayan is because it was air-cooled with a carburator. I have had enough experience with carbs to know that I do not like them and will not get another bike or fourwheeler with one. So this new Himalayan is totally worth looking at. Thanks for the review.
The bad part is that this video ended sooner than I wanted. JK! The video is justice to the loooong wait. Finally seeing this was delightful. Keep going on with what you guys do. Chris, I've always been a fan and seeing you here in India and developing a motorcycle with your levels of skills surely add a strong foundation to the purchase decision. Definitely makes sense why its so potent than the outgoing 411.
I went to the annual motorcycle exhibition here in Helsinki/Finland today. This was the first bike I headed for, and got to sit on it to get a feel of the ergonomics. All of it felt really good, and since the pricing here also is quite reasonable, it tops the list of my next bike. I suspect it'll be ever so slightly different to ride compared to my Hayabusa and Savage 650, and about a zillion times better than those out in the wilderness 🙂
Of all the motorcycling journalists, an endorsement and involvement from Chris takes the legitimacy of this thing to another level. Don't know why, but I trust Chris.
Thank you so much Chris! I was waiting for this test, and I love that bike a lot. I would think that it will have a great success, because it's for everyone, and for every pockets. Maybe it's the unicorn of the ADV bikes, even though I don't know its weight, that might be quite high. Anyway will we ever see an Himalayan in the Dakar? It would be a really big challenge... RE Himalayan 450 Rally! The Kove did a good job. We need a rider, of course, why not you Chris?
Great insight to the process. So very interesting. It's such a massive project to bring something to the table like this. The interview with the chief engineer of the engine was fascinating also. Great job and great job. Much appreciated.
Good bike for Australia we got a shit load of dirt roads and long distance roads so we need a tough bike for long Thalia distance and going of road in Aust
Awsome! Whilst I don't doubt the merits of the bike, seeing what Chris can do on it proves nothing, I've watched videos of him do very similar riding on a GS, Multistrada, you name it 😄
@@BikeWorldTVshow just to be clear, meant it as a light hearted comment on his skills, certainly not that it's easier on more powerful, heavier and expensive bikes ;)
years ago when Can-am was coming to market, they came to our touring club, in South Florida to review the New can-am. and give our suggestions on how to up grade the bike, to make it a true touring machine. Of course, it had to have saddle bags and a trailer hitch, and custom trailers. so off we went, designing those aspects of the bike. some when after the suspension,& torc & others, the proper tires, and sizes. windscreen & adjustability's, heated seats and grips, sound systems. even air shocks. They took, everything, and made 6 different models, based on our in put. So as a suggestion, work on different models, for touring, basic, tail pack, saddle bags, Both hard and soft. heated grips and seats, adjustable windshield's. you have a great platform here. now do crazy, making it into EYE CANDY, for prospected buyers. adjustable height dampening system.
Really cool to see it in action & hear the discussion with the designer...if it can survive Chris's shenanigans then it should be fine for us mortals 🤣. Was able to handle one in local dealer, statically it felt top heavy but, in fairness, it does sit at quite an angle on the stand. Itching to know how it carries the weight and can you pick it up solo...please can Chris do a film of skids and shenanigans on UK green lanes to see how it copes with our winter slop of muddy ruts 🤞🏍 Great video 👍
That Chris was involved in the making of this bikes convinced me to buy it.
Well, if it survived Chris, than that's the ultimate endorsement! Great review and fantastic photography!

When do you think they'll be for sale in Ohio Tim? Would you take this as a daily driver over a used F650GS? thanks

If the Himalayan can attract 25 year-olds in this country too, then it'll be good not only for Royal Enfield but also UK biking in general.
I will be riding this bike in the himalayas this summer. Upto umling la, highest motorable road in the world. Should be a good test.
Yay.... a video with Chris. I've been beginning to wonder if racing Carwow wasn't his full time job lately.
What a great place for a launch. Bike looks great. Brilliant video.

Chris thanks for adding the background information on the design of the bike. That was very interesting.
Thanks!
A wheelie-loving engineer. Chris, you are good people! 🤣
Can wait to see it in my country soon, I'm glad in Colombia we have the same rules of road as India!
Maybe thats why indian bikes are a hit in colombia...them machines are built for that purpose😂

I've watched several videos on this motorcycle, and this video- as well as Big Rock Moto- pretty much confirmed my decision to pre-order one. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, great bike and great scenery 👍
Thank you Chris, loved watching the entire process.
Man that riding had me squirming and grinning... When in India, eh? Quality of the video was worth waiting for. Can't wait to ride one!
Amazing job Royal Enfield 👏👏👏I tried the new Himy and just ordered it 🤙✌️🤙✌️🤙it’s a great product at the right price for what it offer 👍👍👍
Oh man, it was awesome to learn all this about the bike! makes me want it even more!
I have booked mine . I guess 30 days more to get on with it. pretty Excited
Very interesting and enjoyable to watch 👍🏻🍻
Cheers
Brilliant video I really enjoy your videos impressed you have had input into this bike I have sat on one at my local dealership it was a non runner
I can’t wait to road test it when available I have owned the original Himalayan back in 2018 👍
A great project to be involved in... Riding in India looks amazing!
Me gusta mucho esa motocicleta. En Venezuela la necesitamos y se que tendria much exito. Saludos y gracias 🙏
I was wondering when you were going to drop this video. Great video as always Chris, cheers. Was really looking forward to this one.

It'll never happen, so we'll never know ;-)
ktm is hundred times better then royal rnfeld
Great video. A bike i thought i would never be interested in. But maybe be one of the most fun and versatile bikes on sale.
Wow. Been watching your videos for a while now since i bought my first bike. And to know you were involved in the making of this is simply amazing

I had the old karburated KLR, what a pain in the ass it was. First "big" bike though, so I enjoyed the hell out of it

It really did turn out to be a cool bike. I’ll more than likely trade my KLR650 for one of these.
Fascinating. Thanks! John in Colorado.
Oh yeah.....and amazing scenery...wowser...
Fantastic review and insight into the bike. Where do I order... 😂
When is this scheduled for release in the USA? Positively LOVE the black & Gold.
Last quarter of 2024

Reminds me of Road Rash Game in childhood ! ❤😌✨.
This model will be hard to resist.
In fact, resistance might just be futile. 😉
Well worth the wait. Excellent job👏👏
A huge thank you to Chris for being a part of the new Himalayan ❤ from India, Cheers 🥂
My respect for Chris and RE after this video📈📈📈❤❤❤
Thanks, that was good to see
Uma moto incrível 😃👏👏👏🇧🇷

Hi, we are waiting for one to be delivered, some very special planned!
