It's ironic Rick!...I actually chose to live in my truck back a few ago and had quite a bit to do with the homeless here in oz. I just got tired of the same old shit everyday and the same old bills waiting for me when I got home after a hard day at work (self employed)...I wanted to "find myself "...lol...I didn't realize how difficult it would be to get back to just what I had let alone make any progress after dealing with drunks, drug addicts, people with mental illnesses etc. I don't know all the answers and the 4 or 5 years I spent in the truck while still working were the best and worst years of my life. My feeling is it's the drugs and alcohol, but more importantly the reasons people want to escape reality. We have gone too far in the wrong direction, away from the way humans are supposed to exist and thrive. In the end though, we all have the same opportunities and as sad and tragic as it is , I believe it has always been and will always be "survival of the fittest ".

As long as we start to talk about it Jason - I think that's the key. Every opinion is important. I am as guilty as anyone for ignoring the problem that's right in front of us. As upset as many of us are about tent city, I think it has finally showcased the problem like never before. Perhaps, we can now actually get some concrete plans and finally take action. Thank you for your candid reply.

I liked the guitar player! I hope he plays for tips at least. They should have dumpsters available in the homeless areas because the garbage is a mess everywhere they have these "camps". I don't know why our countries don't do something about this. Drugs, alcohol and mental illness are definitely at the root of a lot of this. They need to turn jails into medical rehabs and provide in house psychiatric care for a lot of these people!! I think there are homeless people in every city in America. Don't know about Canada....
