I've got to say, this fan-made series is absolutely outstanding work. The story just plain works perfectly and would easily fit in among other Dragon Ball stories in terms of quality. Bravo to the creators, the word impressive doesn't do it justice.

I wish there was at least a written story online. I really miss Absalon. It had a really nice take on all the characters especially Uub. I don't really like what happens with Gohan later on, but I'm still interested in the story.

Alvaro A. Rojas he's taking. Jake said Melavelli is his one of the biggest inspirations to be an animator. He even said he started animating after watching these episodes. That guy has been improving alot. Goku vs Saitama was awesome(story wise) and now he's coming soon with season to named Anime War and boy that looks great(both animation and story wise).
I loved OP vs Goku. As a fan of both I could really appreciate it wholeheartedly. So I don't want to compare the two. But this... I would legit buy the box set if it were mass produced, AS IS. Ofc Mellavelli would probably add some tweaks and finishing touches if it were to go mainstream but I'd pay extra to have this version, I'm such a fanboi already lol.
People are stupid. Complaining about the lack of a plot when it's only two episodes in. Like damn, it's called building the suspense. I enjoy this because the animation style is awesome and I like that they leave a lot to ask and think about in the early going. It makes me anticipate the next episode.
That, & the z fighters are on top of their game unlike after the cell saga everyone takes it easy or completely stops. Everyone learned you always have to b ready. In thus y I like this channel been waiting too!

holy frick this is awesome! now THIS show and its animation really makes it seem like they are that powerful and fast. thats the one thing the original show really lacked other than the saiyan saga and parts of the frieza saga. everybody apparently got off the charts strong but the fight scenes, speed, etc didn't reflect it very well. this is amazingly well done.

In my personal opinion, THIS is the BEST fan animated piece I have ever seen! I mean the production an vision for this is just phenomenal . Almost to the point that I would them to replace Akira and his productions. If you can't continue with this series any time soon due to copyright bs I would STRONGLY suggest that you branch off and create your OWN unique anime with this level of production. I don't think people have noticed or even realized this but if you haven't here's it is: have you guys ever wondered where Toriyama-sensei thought up of the look for "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan"? The art style is pretty cool, but I would like to see more consistency in the animation itself (very obvious throughout that the animation is trying to use the least number of frames possible and it sometimes suffers as a result). Regardless, this is by far the best original fan animation of any anime that I've ever seen. Great job on the v/o and audio work as well as character designs.
I know, but imagine the bar they'd be setting if they could pull it off without a big studio getting in the way. That would be groundbreaking for the medium and inspire more indie fanimation and animation in general. I'm a nitpicker, but I have a lot of love for this project and it definitely has the potential to be better than the movies Toei Animation has been putting out. Heck, the story concept alone is better than the Battle of Gods plot imo.
This is AWESOOOOOOOOOOME!!! It is epic, dramatic, violent, much more realistic than the other series (the show occurs in OUR world, on OUR Earth), the musics (and the ambiance) are, let's say it, divine, and visually... My God, visually... It is near the Fate/Stay Night series, wich is a HUGE compliment. Really well done, guys. Keep up the good work.
Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the characters' new designs, including Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Trunks, and Uub has just become the most badass and charismatic Dragon Ball character ever. I also appreciate the relationships and the evolution of the story (Pan being with Uub, Kulilin being the new Kame Sennin..). AWESOME.
This is not near the level of Fate/Stay Night, I have no idea what you're even fucking talking about. UBW has fucking insane animation with the budget that they have. This is great for fanmade visuals but it seems like you're overhyping them so much that the compliments almost don't seem real. I don't need it to be realistic, the entire DB series isn't realistic to begin with, monkey humans that can change their hair color and shoot explosive blasts? Honestly this is nice and all, but I just wish they had subs or something since it's hard to tell what they are saying at times

But I mean how do they boycott a fan made project exactly? It's not like the creators of Absalon are getting paid. Perhaps they are getting donations from some, but they can't really get paid for this due to copyright. Whatever the case may be, this is worth a watch that's for sure. I'll admit I was skeptical when I heard whispers about this, but when I finally saw it! Wow! I want to see how it plays out! Occasionally fan projects turn out really good. This is a good example. Then you have the Dragonball Multiverse Webcomic, which I LOVE! Also recently Light of Hope, which put that abysmal abomination that Hollywood vomited out, "Evolution" or De-evolution if you ask me to friggen shame! Right down to the special effects! Then there's also the much beloved Team Four Star Abridged Series, which brings brilliant humor into a franchise I love while still retaining the source material and respecting it. There's a lot of good Dragonball fan stuff, but there is sadly more bad fan stuff, with like Super Saiyajin 20 and crap. So I can understand the skepticism to a degree. I digress for those who are skeptical like I was I will say to them just watch this! The production value is amazing! It's clearly very polished and well presented. On top of that so far the episodes as well as the clips have me kinda of invested. That one clip with SSJ4 Gohan and Trunks gone evil, I want to know the context! While I wish SSJ4 and 5 were retconed since I don't really like SSJ4's design, nor it's connection to GT. And SSJ5 while it does look better thant SSJ4 is still connected. I can overlook it due to the sheer quality when it comes to the presentation of Absalon thus far. I mean this really took me by surprise when I decided to finally give it a try. I'll tell that to any skeptic I meet outright. But boycotting it? I don't get it... I mean if you're using it in the context that people will just outright refuse to even give it a chance. Well that is pretty stupid but their choice. Typically I am willing to give something a chance, usually I am underwhelmed but occasionally you come across a gem like this in the Dragonball fan-made community. If people are dismissing this even after seeing this because of canon and such. Then they are just myopic idiots! I mean I love the direction Battle of Gods, and Fukatsu No F are taking the Dragonball Franchise. Hell Beerus and Whis are like my two new favorite Dragonball characters. But still if you're a Dragonball fan you should know that the series exists in a multiverse, which is evident by 3 different timelines presented in the Android and Cell Saga. The main timeline, the Future Trunks Timeline, and The Cell Timeline where he killed Trunks and stole his Time Machine. So who's to say there can't be another timeline where GT existed and this existed as opposed to the main timeline that's playing out now with the new movies and upcoming Dragon Ball Super series? Basically people shouldn't be so close minded especially when it's already been established that there are multiple timelines in Dragonball. I still hate GT, but Absalon is making up for it. :P

Due to this intense training, Majuub was able to take on Zissle and easily defeat him once he was at full strength. Shown in the Chronicles of Majuub manga, Majuub is shown to be the only other person besides Goku to be able to sucessfully learn the Kaio-Ken technique, doubling his power in the process. Unlike Goku, Majuub is shown to have perfect ki control while using the technique and therefore does not put a huge physical strain on his body as fast. However, the more that Majuub increases his mutliplication level it can indeed begin to have an effect on him. I think Mellavelli watched the Goku Vegeta SSJ2 battle when they were doing the close-up 30 seconds of amazing real techniques (Im gonna rip him apart) section and did what most dream DBZ to be... an actual MMA designed animation, learning different techniques, training, etc... Music choice, facial expression, camera placement. the Majuub scene, can only dream about more intimate fighting scenes being like that. Quality dips around minute 7 then back to amazing around 8:30 but the sound effects of the fight are unparalleled... the voice actors are good as can be.. BOTTOM LINE... YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE AND RECOGNITION, YOU'VE INTERNALIZED WHAT IS BEST ABOUT DBZ.. ID TUNE IN TO WATCH :-) Would love to contribute anyway possible whether your into reading about story ideas, or joke lines... etc Cheers mate

I feel like today was the day I noticed an actual new episode out rather than just updates and progress videos that I had seen in my sub feed over the years. And today I will see episode 3 and beyond for the first time. It almost feels like a waste being subbed to so many channels if it meant I missed out on Absalon 3 and 4 for years from the daily/weekly spamlike uploads of my other subbed channels. I'm glad so many people watched Absalon enough for Mellavelli to keep working on it all these years with such personal interest.

Seriously everyone calm down. Keep in mind that he is doing the animation all by himself. Only someone who has no idea how animation works wouldn't understand how much time is put into this. For example: 1 minute = 1440 frames. Even something like 3 seconds takes at least 4 frames. He finishes his episodes at 6 month intervals, so we might get it next month or in early January.
I agree with you man I don't mind having to wait 6 months for an episode of a series I love. This guy is doing a great job reviving the DBZ series with an interesting and original story line.

Watched this since I was 6 I've been looking for this dbz for a long time after taking a break from anime. I finally found it. I legit searched up "dbz future" I clicked on a dbz episode and ln the suggestions it showed Absalon I'm so grateful.
Not gonna lie this story seems absolutely ridiculous and laughable, however I gotta say the animation is amazing for fan work. For those of you knocking it Id say just have fun with it. It's not altering DBZ history or anything it's just another interpretation of the series. Hope you guys continue making them.
***** It's ridiculous because the characters, the transformations, and the stories all come outta left field. The whole AF storyline thats been floating around on the internet for over a decade with Xicor, SSJ5, and yada yada, is not well structured, coherent, or even in Dbz logic, make sense. Seemingly every character in AF has some transformation they've been hiding or they reach another level in the midst of a battle. The stories aren't well thought out and take only the climactic parts of Z to move the story.
honestly I agree ID rather watch this than Super. if I ever gained a massive amount of money I would donate to this guy to get a bigger studio and hire a crew to help him.
Looking at some of the animation in the fight choreography, especially in the Ice-Tundra landscapes, feels very similar to Dragon Ball Super:Broly. Which is saying something since DBS Broly came out 5 years after this episode
Problems with this series, is the story is all mixed up and there isn't any real direction, it's kind of random. And while the characters are recognizable, this is 12 years later after GT (I'm assuming) A lot happens in 12 years. The characters need to be introduced again, Like why did Uub and Pan get married? They had one scene together so am I supposed to just believe they love each other? So far it's been pointless fighting, what the Z warriors just assume anything with a high power level landing on their planet is evil? One of the villains even said it's forbidden to cause harm to the planet or it's people. Excuse me, isn't that the point where you would question what's going on or what the motives are? On top of that there's too many questions already with no plot device given! What's with the weird stuff the Saiyan injected at the end, why are the saiyans back? Why the Absalon speech in the beginning? are the saiyans actually Absalons? Why do the saiyans follow the Cyborg character, what's with the broly recruitment? There is a lot going on here, and the characters we know must have changed in the past 12 years, so they're unfamiliar to us and the plot isn't established other than fighting an unknown threat if the threat is even a threat, which I'm sure it is because what Dbz saga wouldn't have a threat. You have really good character designs like Cyborg who actually looks menacing and evil, but again the motives are unclear, there's too many characters introduced all at once with none of them having anything to identify with or making them stand out. DragonBall Z was good at saying this is the plot, the henchmen the evil overlord, and pacing itself (a little too slow even at times) all while still giving the main villain a backstory and a motive. And while they weren't fighting you could identify with the characters a little here and there. Right now there's too much going on, mindless fighting and nothing to really go on. I would like to get involved but If they all die in the end I'm not going to care because there's nothing to go with. This series has potential but it really needs to define the shows familiar characters and what changes they've gone through, and what the evil villain's actual plan is, you have to give something to the audience so they can get into the series and not be confused. In fact the first episode has 8 mil views, this one has about 700k views, this should be proof enough that you might want to take in what I said and try to improve the show. Tl;dr? Sorry you don't wanna read this, come back when you feel like reading something long-ish. lol
It lacks the comic relief of the originals. It's all very serious here but yeah be proud because this shows a lot of effort and therefor it's the best fan series.
So instead of just letting these guys get on with their non violent business, the Z-Warriors choose to interfere without any understanding of the situation and turn it into a violent situation. Lol, the heroes of earth everybody.

That guy has been improving alot. Goku vs Saitama was awesome(story wise) and now he's coming soon with season to named Anime War and boy that looks great(both animation and story wise).
I loved OP vs Goku. As a fan of both I could really appreciate it wholeheartedly. So I don't want to compare the two. But this... I would legit buy the box set if it were mass produced, AS IS. Ofc Mellavelli would probably add some tweaks and finishing touches if it were to go mainstream but I'd pay extra to have this version, I'm such a fanboi already lol.

now THIS show and its animation really makes it seem like they are that powerful and fast. thats the one thing the original show really lacked other than the saiyan saga and parts of the frieza saga. everybody apparently got off the charts strong but the fight scenes, speed, etc didn't reflect it very well.

The art style is pretty cool, but I would like to see more consistency in the animation itself (very obvious throughout that the animation is trying to use the least number of frames possible and it sometimes suffers as a result). Regardless, this is by far the best original fan animation of any anime that I've ever seen. Great job on the v/o and audio work as well as character designs.

I know, but imagine the bar they'd be setting if they could pull it off without a big studio getting in the way. That would be groundbreaking for the medium and inspire more indie fanimation and animation in general. I'm a nitpicker, but I have a lot of love for this project and it definitely has the potential to be better than the movies Toei Animation has been putting out. Heck, the story concept alone is better than the Battle of Gods plot imo.

It is epic, dramatic, violent, much more realistic than the other series (the show occurs in OUR world, on OUR Earth), the musics (and the ambiance) are, let's say it, divine, and visually... My God, visually... It is near the Fate/Stay Night series, wich is a HUGE compliment. Really well done, guys. Keep up the good work.
Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the characters' new designs, including Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Trunks, and Uub has just become the most badass and charismatic Dragon Ball character ever. I also appreciate the relationships and the evolution of the story (Pan being with Uub, Kulilin being the new Kame Sennin..). AWESOME.
This is not near the level of Fate/Stay Night, I have no idea what you're even fucking talking about. UBW has fucking insane animation with the budget that they have. This is great for fanmade visuals but it seems like you're overhyping them so much that the compliments almost don't seem real. I don't need it to be realistic, the entire DB series isn't realistic to begin with, monkey humans that can change their hair color and shoot explosive blasts? Honestly this is nice and all, but I just wish they had subs or something since it's hard to tell what they are saying at times

I am honestly shocked! This is... it's.... GOOD! Holy shit I thought it was going to be more fanfic bullshit like that AF stuff, but it's actually really good. Interesting story so far, insanely good animation, great fight sequences. I like it! As far as fanmade Dragonball media goes it's up there with the multiverse webcomic, which I also like. Not a big fan of GT, but you're making up for that travesty so far. Yeah it's better than GT! :P I'm looking forward to part 3! Great job!

Whatever the case may be, this is worth a watch that's for sure. I'll admit I was skeptical when I heard whispers about this, but when I finally saw it! Wow! I want to see how it plays out!
Occasionally fan projects turn out really good. This is a good example. Then you have the Dragonball Multiverse Webcomic, which I LOVE! Also recently Light of Hope, which put that abysmal abomination that Hollywood vomited out, "Evolution" or De-evolution if you ask me to friggen shame! Right down to the special effects! Then there's also the much beloved Team Four Star Abridged Series, which brings brilliant humor into a franchise I love while still retaining the source material and respecting it. There's a lot of good Dragonball fan stuff, but there is sadly more bad fan stuff, with like Super Saiyajin 20 and crap. So I can understand the skepticism to a degree.
I digress for those who are skeptical like I was I will say to them just watch this! The production value is amazing! It's clearly very polished and well presented. On top of that so far the episodes as well as the clips have me kinda of invested. That one clip with SSJ4 Gohan and Trunks gone evil, I want to know the context! While I wish SSJ4 and 5 were retconed since I don't really like SSJ4's design, nor it's connection to GT. And SSJ5 while it does look better thant SSJ4 is still connected. I can overlook it due to the sheer quality when it comes to the presentation of Absalon thus far.
I mean this really took me by surprise when I decided to finally give it a try. I'll tell that to any skeptic I meet outright. But boycotting it? I don't get it... I mean if you're using it in the context that people will just outright refuse to even give it a chance. Well that is pretty stupid but their choice. Typically I am willing to give something a chance, usually I am underwhelmed but occasionally you come across a gem like this in the Dragonball fan-made community.
If people are dismissing this even after seeing this because of canon and such. Then they are just myopic idiots! I mean I love the direction Battle of Gods, and Fukatsu No F are taking the Dragonball Franchise. Hell Beerus and Whis are like my two new favorite Dragonball characters. But still if you're a Dragonball fan you should know that the series exists in a multiverse, which is evident by 3 different timelines presented in the Android and Cell Saga. The main timeline, the Future Trunks Timeline, and The Cell Timeline where he killed Trunks and stole his Time Machine. So who's to say there can't be another timeline where GT existed and this existed as opposed to the main timeline that's playing out now with the new movies and upcoming Dragon Ball Super series?
Basically people shouldn't be so close minded especially when it's already been established that there are multiple timelines in Dragonball. I still hate GT, but Absalon is making up for it. :P

I think Mellavelli watched the Goku Vegeta SSJ2 battle when they were doing the close-up 30 seconds of amazing real techniques (Im gonna rip him apart) section and did what most dream DBZ to be... an actual MMA designed animation, learning different techniques, training, etc... Music choice, facial expression, camera placement. the Majuub scene, can only dream about more intimate fighting scenes being like that. Quality dips around minute 7 then back to amazing around 8:30 but the sound effects of the fight are unparalleled... the voice actors are good as can be.. BOTTOM LINE... YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE AND RECOGNITION, YOU'VE INTERNALIZED WHAT IS BEST ABOUT DBZ.. ID TUNE IN TO WATCH :-) Would love to contribute anyway possible whether your into reading about story ideas, or joke lines... etc Cheers mate

I feel like today was the day I noticed an actual new episode out rather than just updates and progress videos that I had seen in my sub feed over the years. And today I will see episode 3 and beyond for the first time. It almost feels like a waste being subbed to so many channels if it meant I missed out on Absalon 3 and 4 for years from the daily/weekly spamlike uploads of my other subbed channels. I'm glad so many people watched Absalon enough for Mellavelli to keep working on it all these years with such personal interest.

Seriously everyone calm down. Keep in mind that he is doing the animation all by himself. Only someone who has no idea how animation works wouldn't understand how much time is put into this. For example: 1 minute = 1440 frames. Even something like 3 seconds takes at least 4 frames. He finishes his episodes at 6 month intervals, so we might get it next month or in early January.

It's ridiculous because the characters, the transformations, and the stories all come outta left field. The whole AF storyline thats been floating around on the internet for over a decade with Xicor, SSJ5, and yada yada, is not well structured, coherent, or even in Dbz logic, make sense. Seemingly every character in AF has some transformation they've been hiding or they reach another level in the midst of a battle. The stories aren't well thought out and take only the climactic parts of Z to move the story.

Looking at some of the animation in the fight choreography, especially in the Ice-Tundra landscapes, feels very similar to Dragon Ball Super:Broly. Which is saying something since DBS Broly came out 5 years after this episode

Problems with this series, is the story is all mixed up and there isn't any real direction, it's kind of random. And while the characters are recognizable, this is 12 years later after GT (I'm assuming) A lot happens in 12 years. The characters need to be introduced again, Like why did Uub and Pan get married? They had one scene together so am I supposed to just believe they love each other? So far it's been pointless fighting, what the Z warriors just assume anything with a high power level landing on their planet is evil? One of the villains even said it's forbidden to cause harm to the planet or it's people. Excuse me, isn't that the point where you would question what's going on or what the motives are? On top of that there's too many questions already with no plot device given! What's with the weird stuff the Saiyan injected at the end, why are the saiyans back? Why the Absalon speech in the beginning? are the saiyans actually Absalons? Why do the saiyans follow the Cyborg character, what's with the broly recruitment? There is a lot going on here, and the characters we know must have changed in the past 12 years, so they're unfamiliar to us and the plot isn't established other than fighting an unknown threat if the threat is even a threat, which I'm sure it is because what Dbz saga wouldn't have a threat. You have really good character designs like Cyborg who actually looks menacing and evil, but again the motives are unclear, there's too many characters introduced all at once with none of them having anything to identify with or making them stand out. DragonBall Z was good at saying this is the plot, the henchmen the evil overlord, and pacing itself (a little too slow even at times) all while still giving the main villain a backstory and a motive. And while they weren't fighting you could identify with the characters a little here and there. Right now there's too much going on, mindless fighting and nothing to really go on. I would like to get involved but If they all die in the end I'm not going to care because there's nothing to go with.
This series has potential but it really needs to define the shows familiar characters and what changes they've gone through, and what the evil villain's actual plan is, you have to give something to the audience so they can get into the series and not be confused. In fact the first episode has 8 mil views, this one has about 700k views, this should be proof enough that you might want to take in what I said and try to improve the show.

It lacks the comic relief of the originals. It's all very serious here but yeah be proud because this shows a lot of effort and therefor it's the best fan series.
It's only the second episode and DB was mostly comedy. This is show seems to be inspired by the serious moments in DBZ.
