LARP-ing is just videogames without electricity. I'd be down, but I'd so totally get kicked out for being that 'teabag' guy dressed as a Marvel hero. Not like the good ones either. I'm talking like, Party City, $40 Spiderbat onesie status.
LarpCraft I run Japan's only English LARP group. We have our own land too and I'm going to build our first building. I'm a little stuck on a design. I'd love to talk with someone about how they built your buildings.
The building in this setting are that of the 1800s and American Frontier styles. This is our western set actually where we'll be doing a lot more with our Wild West Larp larpcraft.com/Community/WildWest/. We do have a community dedicated to sharing how to build different structures. The medieval ones are here - larpcraft.com/Community/MedievalStructures/ so feel free to make a free player profile, ask questions, post in the forums about what you're thinking of doing and we'll help ya.
LarpCraft I went to those links, but they look broken, or deleted maybe. I was curious to see what the cost of building those structures might run. Is the information still available?
I really want to get into a fantasy LARP. Is there a character sheet template to fill out or something? I want to form a character but I am not quite sure all the things I need to list. I have never played DND nor do I know much about it so I am not even sure about all the different races you can choose from. Also the local LARPs don't seem to be the type of LARP I am looking for (the people wear regular clothes, meet in a public park, and just stand there hitting each other with boffers - I am looking for something more immersive) so I was thinking about starting my own. I just feel like I don't know enough yet to do that.
If you want to start your own chapter, you can do so if you are an adult. I'd suggest reading through the larpcraft.com/scrolls/First/ section until we have the complete guide done.
MinxFox Check out my book on Kindle called "Creating LARP Characters: A mini guide to creating fun and well developed characters for role playing games." It's short, gives tips and advice based on my experience as a LARPer. It includes a character sheet. amzn.to/2ae4gsl
Man, thanks for the intro, guys! I've never done LARP before, and I've never been sure what it was. For a long time I thought it was just a bunch of geeks (like me) beating each other senseless with foam swords. Then I heard "role-play" and thought it was something you had to be an actor or into acting or something. Then I heard people calling it a game, and just got even more confused. I've heard a few jokes about LARP and people who are into it, but it sounds really fun! I'm a writer, so I kind of like that you have to develop characters, their back stories, etc. I like that you try to think like your character, play off each other and all that. I'm seriously thinking about checking it out. PS: Here's a coin. By that orc a pint on me. :D
Bad acting, but fun larping. Practice practice practice... to be fair, Artenen says "let's film something" out of thin air as something else is being done so almost everything you see is done with zero practice or planning. Our intention is to host great games, the videos sometimes are just a side item.
Very cool! Thank you for this video. I recently joined a LARP community in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. If you're ever up this way, let me know. We'll make you welcome!

Amazing. Go to practices first before a game. Get to know some players, get your questions asked and get to know your game system. Then when your first game comes up, you'll be set!
As someone who really wants to get into larping but has never larped in their life, this was very helpful; thank you!
Thanks for watching!
That looks like a very cool site to play at.
Larpgasm aye larpgasm love your channel
Indeed it is.
Thanks!
"How far did you travel?"
"AS FAR AS I COULD WITH THESE BOOTS ON"
I'm dying 🤣
Thanks for watching!

Some larps would welcome you I'm sure
I'm just picturing a man in a Spiderman onesie with a viking helm and a battle axe yelling "Excelsior!" while charging. That'd be awesome. 😂
Those log houses are sweet 👌. Would enjoy a larpcation there for sure.
Bonus points for the word larpcation!
Amazing little village. Where is it?
Wisconsin. We're in the middle of building another one as well!

Thank you for the coin! The Orc enjoyed the ale. See you in the games!
I mean larping looks fun but I'm socially awkward and really bad at acting so I reckon I'll stick to the boffers.
Lol. You think you'll be the only socially awkward person at a LARP event? You should go, and have fun.
It's fun and easy, nobody expects you to be good at it right away.
Same bro😂
"we must speak with thee"
"what do you want?"

Thanks for the comment! UA-cam hid a bunch of video comments we're just now seeing!

Thx nice tips for my 1 Larp
No probs!
What's it like the first time you go Larping

+LarpCraft thank u
+LarpCraft I live in Massachusetts there are only a couple LARP places
@@ITopSoTI Hey, I'm looking to get started myself and I'm planning to go to a Mass. Larp. Have you tried it yet?
Where is this location
Old Wade House historical site in Greenbush, WI.
where's the rest of that guy's armor? He leave the cuirass at home?
he has since bought the rest... get what you can when you can...
AH makes sense
Where is this village located and what groups play there?
Wisconsin, selected groups can rent it.
I was wondering. Are there any larp communitys that let teens play. In 14 and I don't know if I need to wait or not
We designed games for families so there are out there. Best best is to contact the game hosts and ask.
Also would you allow Plague Doctors in LARPing
Yep, many in larps atm.
Noice
Thanks!
