There is another avenue where India's ability to manufacture sophisticated military equipment will pay off in spades. High cost producers will enlist India to co-produce equipment that can be used for the Indian military and that can be sold at a lower price to other countries. India benefits and so do the western high cost manufacturers.
Good analysis. Please make an effort to speak in international numeric terms like "Billions" instead of a very uniquely Indian "Crores" to make it easy for an international audience to easily follow.
when the americans can force their imaginary imperial system on others, why cant india use what is uniquely theirs. i would suggest not ditching your terms but to use both.

In full honesty buddy, we call Chinese investments debt traps because they charge ridiculous interest rates. Upon default of loans, they take over those assets completely. They always set unfair conditions for loan repayments when such loans are attempted to be restructured. Take a look at what China is doing at the Hambantota Port in Sri Lanka, where China is stalling the IMF loan re-structuring process because they want to be paid first among all other debtors, and in the full amount due. Sri Lanka has economic challenges currently, but the Chinese simply don't care about it. However, India barely charges any interest rate, if at all. Take a look at the 100 Million USD credit line which India provided to the Philippines. The difference between China and India is, my friend, that the Chinese deal with loans like Bankers and Indians give loans as a sign of friendship and strategic cooperation.

@@Nishant.708, brother I think you might need to get your facts straight. Take a look at the trouble China has caused in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and now even Indonesia. Granted, the Chinese might bring some amount of expertise into the projects, but the data shows that most of the projects they build are all financially unsustainable. Bangladesh has recently decided not to fall into their debt-trap diplomacy and chose to go with the India-Japan duo for their port project. Countries have started to realise the true burden of Chinese debts into their economy and chosen not to work with them: Only the politically isolated countries are still pursuing Chinese Investment. Case-in-point Pakistan and now Afghanistan.
How else can so many nations have issues with Chinese debt? I would genuinely like to hear a response from your side as to how you can justify the unfavourable loans the Chinese put out to such nations. Also, for the record, I read about China's debt-trap diplomacy from WION and FirstPost but also from the India Today YT Channel and by ThePrint. I believe the Quint has also made a video about the same but I haven't seen it so far.
Africa doesn't need Indian, American, European or Chinese weapons. We need Russian weapons, the kind that are being deployed in Ukraine today. It's either those or we'll have to create our own.

India should approach the African Union to promote weapons sale to Africa.....Africa needs weapons to protect its borders and its resources....this is a golden opportunity for India to really creep Into the weapons sale market for the immediate short term as per the fallout of the special military operation in Ukraine....India is getting a great energy boost along with many others who are making a huge windfall of profits in which ever way from the special military operation in Ukraine...thus India should be able to really out price the competition and sell really effective really cheap weapons to Africa which is a billion people strong market..... Africa needs every weapon that can be called such a thing.....India have a golden opportunity to reallycreate super strong solid military industrial complex.....,parhaps after the African Union would have established its armed wing as per the African Union doctrine...parhaps then Africa will control its own narrative....however the power needed to summon the forces are the weapons that can be supplied by India a new emerging economy looking for fresh progressive markets.
