In addition to behaving more like a cricket ball a tape ball also adds speed to the delivery. One way of adding more speed is to lay out good quality coir matting from around 2 feet behind the popping crease to around 10-12 feet in front, and then to wet the mat.

A tennis ball behaving like a leather ball.
baller ke liye scope badh jata hai swing wagerah ka.
cheap hai, compared to leather ball.
safe bhi hai, not as dangerous as a leather ball. you can even play without safety equipment.
batsman ke liye bhi badhiyan hain, tennis ball bahut excess bounce karti hai, tape ball se thoda bounce mitigate ho jata hai.

It's true. We play and organize tape ball tournament in Tokyo. #mib team. In Pakistan they don't use heavy tennis tape ball in the tournament. So they can swing ball more easily.

Simple answer is no. In Pakistan we used NITTO brand tape in the begining of 80's. Then this brand got so famous for tapping that they introduced special tape roles just for ball tapping with the name of OSAKA. Now it is widely used in Pakistan. Others tapes are simply not good enough.
