    Larry it's good to see you back out digging again. It has finally cooled down here in North Carolina and the crops have been harvested so I'll soon be out there too!

      Thanks. I've been out a few times, but not havingmuch luck yet. The weeds are still high on most of the sites I detect. Thanks for watching.

      I think I'm going to make it. I may be a little slow getting back into the swing of things, but I see a lot of relics in my future. Thanks for watching.

    Glad to see you back hunting. I've come into places where others have hunted and it looked like a herd of hogs had been there. Very disrespectful of other folks property. It's those people that give metal detecting a bad name. Enjoyed the video, and take care.

      Thanks; I'm feeling great. Yeah, I hate to people who act like a bunch of hogs. It was so sad seeing the woods tore up like that. I can't wait to talk to the farmer to see if they had permission. If they did, they may not anymore. Thanks for watching.

    A few good finds....Its too bad that a few people ruin it for all, by not following some courtesy to the property owners. hopefully the owner will ban them next time.. good luck

      Thanks. I've got 3 of the training videos put together; I hope they will help some people. I'm starting them with the basics and then gradually adding what I've learned and will learn. I may just go ahead and post these 3 at one time as it may be a while before I can do another one. What do you think? Thanks for watching and good luck at DIV.

    Your license plate is Hogston spelled backwards, great.

    • @SavingLocalHistory
      @SavingLocalHistory  Рік тому +1

      You're one of the very few that ever figured that out. It has a story. I used to have Caving as a tag and I let it run out and one of my friends got it. Then I went to get Hogston and one of my friends beat me to it by one day. So I didn't give up; I just spelled it backwards. Thanks for watching.

    Nice finds. I've never used a Tarsacci before. Could you please explain the multiple tone when over 1 target? Is that all metal mode?
    Thank you.

    • @SavingLocalHistory
      @SavingLocalHistory  Рік тому +1

      Thanks. The best way I know how to explain the tones is to watch this video I made: ua-cam.com/video/odip7q5I9WQ/v-deo.html
      I did 3 training videos on the Tarsacci you may want to take a look at all of them. The Tarsacci is a great detector and has a lot of features you won't find on another detector. Sadly in a move to scaled down my detecting equipment I ended up selling the Tarsacci along with a few other detectors but it was in no way due to its abilities. I had bought it originally to use on highly mineralized sites where I typically use the Minelab GPX 5000 metal detector. I really didn't need both of them and decided to keep the GPX for now. Thanks so much for watching.

    Tarsacci MDT 8000

    hi larry
    Thank you
    Which is better in these two devices to search for gold and deep burials
    please reply sir
    Thank you

    • @SavingLocalHistory
      @SavingLocalHistory  Рік тому

      At present, I'd say the GPX 5000 would be best. It is much more powerful, more customizable and designed to find gold. Plus, it has a much longer history and thus more user input not to mention more coil and battery options. But, it is much more expensive. I hope this helped. Thanks for watchimg and for your question.

      @@SavingLocalHistory Thank you, Mr
      Yes, I got the idea
      Yes, the GPX device has a high price, especially since the manufacturer does not sell it directly, but through distributors and sellers who control the price.
      Thanks again Mr. Larry

    I noticed onething, never seen anything deeper then 5 inches deep

      Did you notice that I counted over 50 holes that had recently been dug? My buddy and I have found probably over 300 bullets in this small area over the years. In most of it, the soil is too mineralized for the VLF detectors. The one bullet I found on this very short hunt was probably 5 inches deep. Did you notice the red clay dirt? I was lucky to find this bullet after this site had been recently hunted to death. Trust me, the Tarsacii will definitely detect targets much deeper if it is set correctly and if there is something there to detect. Watch some of my videos on the Tarsacci where i compare other detectors. The Tarsacii does great in the red dirt compared to the VLF detectors. Of course, the pulse detectors like the Minlab's GPX series will out perform it but at a much higher cost. On a lot of my videos, I use part of a carpenter's ruler to show the actual depth. There's a lot of factors involved when it comes to all these modern metal detectors as ther is in all the targets and soil. I was mainly trying to show the sounds of the Tarsacci. I did 3 trainng videos on the Tarsacci with a lot of information that applies to most detectors you may want to look at. Health issues have kept me sidelined for a while but I believe I will be back swinging again soon. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment.

      @SavingLocalHistory I figured the soil must be tough to detect in because that should be cherry picking.

    • @SavingLocalHistory
      @SavingLocalHistory  10 місяців тому +1

      @@rickvann3489 It's definitely tough hunting. The majority of it is in the woods and it's grown up and steep but it's been a great spot for the 20 years I've hunted it. It's pretty well cleaned out now. I've hunted it with a lot of different detectors over the years. It's been my test garden but once it changed hands, it got pounded to death. It had a lot of deep bullets on it but no brass other than casings.
