Wow I can't wait to fully invest in this app for love it for 2 years until Google unceremoniously kills it and deletes all my un-exportable data from it!
I'm in the construction industry. I will oftentimes put the specifications of a project in a notebook and use this instead of 'CTRL + F' in a PDF. It is wayyyy more useful. "What type of concrete is used on the building foundation?" "What mark-ups are used on Extra Work?"
I've been using this for about a month, and it's incredibly useful. I upload earnings reports and the associated earnings calls, then listen to the podcast to get a simple overview. It's much more engaging than just reading the reports themselves. If something sounds interesting, I can delve into the reports myself and ask questions.
@@ibanker the information is based on the sources and companies always try to put their results and projections into the best light. So yeah, it does mean the message is generally optimistic. It’s just an easy way for me to get a feel without having to listen to the whole earnings calls and then
It looks very similar to MS-Loop with an AI feature. I think Microsoft will add AI soon to Loop. It also shows that MS-Loop could be the future of note-taking and replace OneNote in the future.
Hah! Your grocery store know more about you than Google. You can run but you can’t hide. Pandora’s box has long been opened. Learn to use it to your advantage.
This app might be "smart", but personally after playing with it for like 4 hours, I can assuredly say it is definitely not ready for deployment. There's no note linking; no decent folder structure; no tag system; no text formatting (for example, no quotes, no tables, no comments, no footnotes). Everything is super barebones. I don't even "get" if I'm _using it wrong_ and this is more supposed to be an over-arching text recognition system meant to be used in combination with the google docs you create (which now support inter-document linking -- in a very janky way I might add). Also, the AI features seem "useful" (like the summarization and podcast thing) but they're more for students and people who really need to memorize the broadstrokes gist of a subject, as opposed to serious researchers who are *delving deep* into a subject, and to whom linguistic details really do make all the difference. TL;DR The product is super casual, and unless you're a highschooler who hasn't heard of Obsidian, don't waste too much of your time here and look elsewhere.
yeah this is so powerful. great overview Francesco. The podcast element blew my mind. I listened to the bitcoin whitepaper "podcast" the other day in NotebookLM. The journal entries podcast is a great idea!
@@eddiehaug it would have been great if it could do that..... it would have been so easy to listen to new research papers in podcast form ..... they are so boring to read
I’m starting to cover AI development on my channel and I’m considering starting a series on how to implement a modern note taking app designed in a world with AI. Maybe I will be able to convince you to partner in the future 😊 I’m splitting note taking into the inputs, organising and recall, my hypothesis is that organising is currently only useful to help recalling information, but it can be 100% automated allowing for more focus on the writing and what to produce with all those ideas etc

this is the correct prediction/reaction.
@@ramk9037 Exactly!
If something actually works, it’s longevity is short.
@@gregnixon1296 why?
Don't worry, Microsoft office will start adding these functionalities in about ten years

Could be interesting for your future, would be interesting to see some more use cases from others too.
@@toolfinderhq absolutely!
im in medical school and this thing is simply incredible. it has saved me hundreds of hours with all of the clinical guidelines i place into it

Have you noticed that they're a bit too optimistic, there is no critical analysis done - so best to be careful when using this for investing purposes.

this thing is amazing i cant even explain how much time it saves me. this feels like a true ai tool versus the llm chat bots

If only I trusted Google.
But you use UA-cam 🙃

It's actually kind of scary how good the website is! I just uploaded a video because I was in awe and shock!
Could also convert the podcast into a video as well

Thanks Mitchell. Crazy isn't it!
Is the podcast downloadable?
Yes
Hey I tried the audio podcast feature but its not creating the podcast of full document I uploaded. It just converted 4-5 pages
It's not a document conversion tool.

Amazing stuff however on face value I feel this is nothing more but a gemmick to show off some cool tech. Staying with Notion, once again ;-)
absolutely!
It is not a note taking app. It is RAG app.
What's RAG?
AI voices getting WAYYY too good lol
Scary good!
@@toolfinderhqI feel once this is tweaked, Google Keep may get phased out lol. We all know Google and the products they launch
I only use for summary web. With document this app alway wrong easy question like name of document, toc, number.....😢
In NotebookLM’s text products, there are small numbers, 1-12 in some cases. What do those numbers indicate?

At around 7:00mns - auditory learner
I've been waiting for it to be able to create podcasts in Italian.
At 3:55 not opinion - fact
Can you use your own voice(s)?
Loving the blush going on on the cheeks.
Good blood flow aha
longevity unreliable
Dead by 2026💀
Exactly! Go count how many times this word is used in the average 10 minute LM podcast ;)
This will likely be abandoned in a few years like most Google projects
Let's hope they bake it into other tools.
I use it everyday for my state exams. Great tool to explain my notes and test me on them.
It is not new 😅. An year old
We’ve covered it in launch and it has come with updates
