sorry friend, but the problem is your interpretation. you've taken one verse from one book and assumed "the marks of jesus" referrs to stigmata. now before they hung Jesus they beat and flogged him leaving marks on his body before crucifying him. so it is fair to say, considering everything Paul says, not just the one verse in Galatians you've picked out, that the marks Paul is alluding to is everything on his body. but most importantly, it was for the sake of the gospel and the message he preached is why he received those marks. just as Jesus received them for the message he proclaimed. so it doesn't matter who did the bearing, whipping or flogging, weather it was a Jew or Roman doing it, the context is the same. also, to claim that the Catholic church brought us the Gospel is ridiculous and you need to go study these things before recklessly throwing it out there cause I don't have time to educate you on scripture(it's clear you don't study it) and church history. suffice to say that the message of the gospel was recorded and preached before any so called Catholic came onto the scene so sorry but you are misinformed...
