Cher doesn't get the props for being a legitimate singer. Her voice is still in good shape in her late 70s. She's rarely taken seriously, people don't listen to her, they look at the clothes, the fun, the camp sensibility but rarely ger vocals

She wrings every emotion out of a song. Such a magnificent voice and stunningly beautiful. She is not on rolling stones list.
I'm pretty sure I read that Cher has had a song at the top of the charts for six decades... the only artist to do that, I think.

Isn’t it a Madonna quote “once I’m dead, they’ll kiss my ass”. My father fondly remembers Cher having extensive airplay in Belfast in the 80s/90s.

Just as an aside…Sondheim actually added an extra verse to the original song solely for Ms Streisand.

This clip from her TV show is like Cher: Unplugged. One of her best vocals, a song stylist is what producer Snuff Garrett called her.

Most of us younger kids know her as the woman with Autotune. Only recently have I discovered her 60s-80s work. And she’s magnificent
