ok i was wondering about my can am ds 450 08 all that has bin done to it is full skid plate mud lite tires and nurf bars. i was riding the other day and it was really wining so i pulled over shifted down to first the bike stalled when i pulled in the clutch then when i was holding the cluch in the transmission reingaged as it stopped rooling
So I am just replacing my whole side over gasket and the clutch realease cover gasket do I need to remove the Allen keys and that 75ftlp nit still or can I just removed all the outside screws?
Lost the #2 way, so this is how its done, Take the entire side cover off at once, clutch cover, water pump, everything with the main bolts and it gives you better faster and easier access to almost the entire case.
@EraseMe32 Go to DS450HQ dot com, then find the shop manual link, its a free download and it has all the torque specs. As for the rotation, both of ours had some rotation in them, just do a visual inspection of all the components in the clutch and going into the drive train. And then replace/repair as needed. when your clutch failed how did the machine act when you were riding it? yesterday I was riding and out of nowhere non of my gears were working. i was in gear but it acted like neutral. help!
@california450club Replace the basket, or better yet call BCS Performance. They are the people to call for all the hook ups and knowledge on these quads!
just some more pertinent info, only need to remove the entire side case if you are removing the basket, if just replacing the clutch plates you dont need to remove the side cover which means you dont have to drain the coolant
There are various sensors for the clutch lever itself. Check out ds450hq dot com and search there or ask around to fix the problem or go more in dpeth with it

cool. vid. my rivets in my basket are all loose. can i fix this or should i replace the basket
What size is the nut to take the plate off to change the fibers
Hello , What is the direction of rotation to loosen the main nut? Clockwise or anticlockwise?
I did a oil change on mine and there was a tiny spring on the drain plug magnete any idea where this came from?

i broke the bolt on the end of the cable that goes into the clutch cover, do u know how i can replace that?

Clutch plates are smoked, if its a 08 pull it apart!
