Hello again, I was watching your video while it poured outside my door. The sun even came out and gave us a beautiful rainbow. I like you was planning to go out and work in my garden. My daughter took me to the local farmers market for my early mother's day gift. She had me pick out two rose bushes for my yard. I have an orange and pink climber rose to add to the beautiful red rose bush she bought me years ago. Now I have to see what my three sons get me. I love mothers day, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's day this Sunday.

BEING the youngest of 10 your family reminds me when we had a farm in the country in Pennsylvania. Love when the baby is so excited to tell you about how he is doing on his bike with his older sister right there making sure he does not hurt himself, and the others right behind rooting him on...THAT IS WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT BUT OF COURSE JESUS COMES FIRST. SHARED TO THE BURGH GOD BLESS.

Angela, hello, I just watched this video and as I love them all! This video is one that is at the top of my list. I love watching the process of how you and your family are creating an amazing garden. Your family is adorable and you are creating such wonderful memories for them. I’ve joined the OWS and it’s wonderful. Thanks Christine J

Thank you SOOO much for providing these excellent videos of your beautiful house, garden and family. I just love your soft voice, watching Jr help, seeing your girls grow into young women, and your boys becoming young men. Here in Central Texas, rainy days are very precious to us, and we take our sunny days for granted. I'm working on shifting my perspective to embrace and appreciate what cannot be changed. For instance, the weather. I hope that someday I can spend some time (in Summer) in Door County, and maybe the Reed family can experience bluebonnets in the Texas Hill Country in April. You would love it!

Angela, love your new garden progress. I have cleaned out my garden beds and bought some seedlings. My window seat bench has been taken over by other projects so we will seed soon. Loving all the perennials which offer berries galore, asparagus, kale and herbs unending. Working in the drizzle is so relaxing! All the best, Julie 🌷

A healthy lawn is the best weed barrier. I live on the Canadian prairies where we deal with frequent high winds, drought, frigid winters (it's been -30 for a month 2 years in a row!) and searing hot summers. Grass, for me, is relatively low maintenance, comfy on feet, and here, relatively pest free. I love the look of it, too!

I recently found a Vintage & Victorian magazine from 2012 at a flea market. As I was perusing it I came across an article featuring none other than the Parisienne Farmgirl herself. It features the house in McHenry, Illinois. Absolutely Beautiful.

So beautiful! Loved seeing the whole family outside playing and helping out and loved seeing parts of the property we've never seen! We've been struggling with the rain on the weekends so I get it. Working full time and only having two days to work outside. Mother Nature is not on the same schedule as we are! Being grateful for the rain to do my watering for me is where I'm at now.

I had tennis elbow for a few years as a young woman, also an achy shin and a hurting sitz bone. Then .... I took Celebrex for merely three days and have had absolutely no pain in those three areas ever since in the past twenty years! Kinda scary how powerful Celebrex is! However, I’m thankful to be pain-free!

    • @jeanninef2110
      @jeanninef2110 3 роки тому +1

Unfortunately Celebrex is.a harsh chemical, even though it really takes away pain for most people using it. There are more natural alternatives though. And many do work well.

Your farm looks awesome! Yes you can grow grass but you have to decide if you want beautiful green grass or grass mixed with weeds. I would bet you don't want weed killer down all over polluting your beautiful farm. We live in the Pine Barrens on Long Island on over an acre. So much lawn to take care of. Always battling weeds. I would rather a more natural look but our development would have a problem with that. Hoping to leave NY one day to a more rural simpler life!

My landscaper has said to me. "As long as it's green, it's okay." He has helped me embrace a less than perfect lawn. This year, for the first time in 26 years, my grass looks better than my next door neighbors! A win. I love how your green paths look. I hope it's spring there soon but as soon as it is, it will be summer in Texas and it is supposed to be hot this year! I have one more daffodil blooming. I've had a succession of blooms for almost three months. Unheard of but I guess I have Uri to thank. I got my Old World Design Society Magazine today. I can't wait to start reading it. Thank you for amazing content.

Grass between your raised beds is definitely the way to go - otherwise you'll be forever dealing with weed eradication with whatever else you put down. Stuff simply wants to grow - and will despite your very best efforts, so why not make it all happen on your terms? In sun, grass is the most effective ground cover there is. It's warmer than Door where I am with the Daff's just finishing up & everything perennial beginning to grow, leaf out, or candle up very nicely. The potatoes & beet seeds are in the ground, planted in the cold & the rain - that wasn't fun! Waiting til next week to plant the rest in earnest.
Love what you're doing outside. So many raised beds! Heavens the work! But it all looks really great!

    BonJour,
    A Bientôt,
    Cécile de Bordeaux
