That must be how I found this, too. Someone just replied to a six year old comment of mine on this video, and I couldn’t figure out how I ended up here. lol. I don’t even particularly like the song now, now that I think about it. 😂
Hurray for the Internets. I put on the radio on my phone on a whim last night, when I was in bed. Caught this song in the middle of the track, thought it was pretty damn good... Didn't catch the track name, but knew the FM frequency I was tuned into and found the station and the playlist of the song at that time and found the song. Without the Internets I'd probably not found out what the song was called. I'll need to check out the rest of their stuff! Err... yeah, anyway ;x
I saw them play in the basement of a Church in my hometown, back in 1998. Then they broke up. I came down to Seattle for their reunion at Capital Hill, 8 years later, but the 98 show was the best they ever were...
My friend from San Francisco tried to transcript the lyrics. She said it was crazy hard. Here they are: There’s a machine between me and the page It’s like a song and it rings and it bangs Rhythym for my fingers, melody for my brain Purple? xxxxx is simply a phase Every day I rise and no one cares I got no disciples to scare When you devote yourself to a xxxx Guess you might turn out the same way (?)
There is also a b-side for this one called "Ballbusters and the Peanut Gallery"...... Definitely support the band if you dig this track and be sure to pick them both up.....
What radio station are you listening to? Lol, gotta love thems Internets. I use Last.fm and Spotify, and since they work together it's almost scary how I can look up any song I've liked for the past 4 years. As for The Murder City Devils, they're my all-time favorite band. Happy, sad, angry, numb... I always seem to be in the mood for them. As far as I'm concerned, they're the definition of punk-rock-and-roll.
I remember a tragic poetess Guess I seen a little too much A little too much to let it stand Little too much to let it stand My truth it was xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx It all seems so out of my hands Everything is/that’s? not xxxxxxx shall be taken Shall be taken
Luke Gardiner Radiohead is like that for me, save for maybe a couple songs, which is pretty impressive in a catalog the size of theirs. Oh, and Elliott Smith. Anyways, what's the best album by these guys? I'd like to check them out.
Is there an english speaker who would write down the lyrics here ? I can't get all of them and I NEED to. The one who'd do so would get a little bit closer to heaven.
What was I listening to all these fucking years? Unbelievable voice and rock beat!
this is the happiest i've been since january....how did i miss this.
KOTD/Duel in the Desert/Cortez vs Danja Zone brought me here
That must be how I found this, too.

Tell Bowie I'm putting on my black shoes and dancing with the DEVILS!!!
I couldn't agree more with that second paragraph. It's just pure primal rock music... Perfect for all moods and occasions.....

johnnyscifi you wrote "came down to"...i'm gonna guess you're from north of seattle? I'm from bellingham...
+johnnyscifi Whats funny about that statement is that they are more like they were then. Original lineup just the members evolved.

It's no crime we got off easy !
Duel in the Desert.

"Yes I've seen.. a little too much"...😢
That was the song that got me hooked! The first I heard was press gang which is probably my least favorite now, but it did pique my curiosity.
TOUR TOUR TOUR!!!!!
Just so good.
