Nice coverage of a beautiful looking course. Special thanks to Luke and Gavin for the DGN love. I was fortunate enough to be filming Worlds with the DGN crew this year and it is hard (but very rewarding) work. We all appreciate the appreciation. Keep up the good work.
Anyone visiting Dellwood should also check out Highland Park (Pilcher Park) in Joliet. It's another punishing ravine style course. Lacking the limestone walls, but still a good course in an old park.
@@bretthousman8317 I was in first foursome to play The Oaks, a test round played with co-designer Steve Matul (pdga 008) and another I'm spacing--been a few years. Some snow on the ground. Fell in love.
@@marcusdresback you’re right. Bombing down fairways is a part of disc golf but also this is just my opinion I don’t like the way disc golf is transitioning to golf courses. I think the beauty of disc golf is that you choose an area that is beautiful on its own without tons of manipulation and destruction. Seeing these golf courses with nothing but green grass is sad because it takes so much water to maintain that. That’s not natural. Save the water for something else. This sport is exploding and I hope it doesn’t follow the path that golf did because it doesn’t have to.
@@dominicz14 there are more wooded courses being built than private courses or courses on golf courses, every year. I think people are making a bigger deal out of it than it is. With new disc coming out that can hold straighter lines, hold turnover lines for exact distances, and drivers and fairway drivers that absolutely bomb, there’s gonna be some places that are scoreable for your big arm guys. If you’re gonna be a pro, you gotta be able to play both. It is what it is.
@@marcusdresback The problem is PDGA is covering events more and more on golf courses. Teaches up coming players not the proper way to play true disc golf.
Right on....the direction of disc golf is not looking good based on pdga hosting more and more golf courses. Completely takes away the art of the game out of equation.
GK has improved in a lot of areas, video and sound quality, camera work, etc, yet you still have those same crappy score graphics. Even Ace Run has you beat. Do you know of any other C tier players who placed 40th at the World Championships? I don't. Are Garrett Gurthie, Colten Montgomery, Matt Bell, Luke Humphries, Nikko Locastro, or Drew Gibson, to list a few, C tier players as well? Cause he beat them at Worlds. Doesn't seem like much of a C tier player to me. You seem to be harboring some negative opinion of him as a person and letting it bleed into your perception of his skills, because to call him a C tier player is quite an inaccurate statement to make about someone who has been placing as well as he has this year, especially on the World stage.
Brodie has played for 2 years now. He played a disc sport the majority of his life. He is 15 years older than some of the best players. He will never be a top 10 player. He will be an above average player just not a top 10 player. What makes people mad that someone that will never be a top player gets more attention than the top players.
He gets attention because he has a huge following, great charisma, and is a top 40 player in the world after less than 2 years of playing pro. Also, he is probably growing the sport more than any other top 10 player which is why his starter set has been sold out for over a year. You’re just coming off as incompetent and jealous
@@jeffro4kag206 His lifetime disc golf earnings are like 200 dollars. He gets all his money from the same endorsements he would have one way or the other. Does that really make him a professional?

2 bogeys and a dub killed Brodies Round....otherwise hed be right in the mix. Impressed with how hes progressed .....fun to watch
Had me laughing when terry missed the putt and they said put it in reverse terry
Commentator booth with absolute 🔥 rounds
Matt never leaving the mulch on 10… pure as can be

That entire area can boast a ton of outstanding courses: Highland for sure, The Oaks, Lemon Lake, others.

Highland is a beast !!
Damn this is a good looking course!
the simultaneous "Oooohhh" at 10:13 Lolololol
This course is beautiful!
1 shot for every "Matt Bell range." If Matt makes said putt, take another shot.
Love this course! This is disc golf, not those stupid converted golf courses.

Hes a super cool guy. I met it a couple times. He hosts tons of tournaments in the area.
Still haven’t seen Brodie do well on camera. Would really like to

Awesome work as always.
So fun to watch Brodie play

Some type of graphic would be nice. literally anything.
Is anyone covering the chase cards at this tourny? I would love to watch them for rounds 2 & 3 at least.
It took a while for gavin to wake up but he did great work as a commentator anyway 👍
I guess there are benefits of waking up at 530 am everyday.. catch the premiere!!!

Brodie is so good
Rathbun may or may not be a good fit for commentator, just sayin
Seems like Brodie is keeping his head facing forward on those backhand drives. he misreleases when he does it.
Brodie Smith wears a knee brace...just in case he doesn't play well or win...then he has an out. Then blames it on injury.
Lol why so salty?
Every time Brodie plays on the lead card, he had a bad day. Cameras bring bad luck to him.
Nerves. Not luck

Brodie is a C tier player. Even in this tournament with no Elite pros at it he still stinks it up.
He has only been a pro for like a year and has a better average finish this year then all these guys 😂
