the reason they block off the entrance is because in nature they'd seal themselves off from the surface to prevent predator's from finding and killing them, btw whilst ants are at this stage you should ideally be disturbing them as little as possible as it can stress the colony and lead to them failing to establish.
Yes I am aware of the disturbance hence why I tried to check on between the weeks. But they're all doing okay thankfully and made a great video for people to see :)
I love when 2 ants run into eachother in a tube, it's like bumping into someone on the sidewalk. I like to imagine what they are thinking/saying with little speech bubbles above them💭
What a great bunch! Are these so much more slow then other species? Or do you film in 60 fps and scale it down? They seem so much easier to watch then some of the wild species we have here. It's so easy to fall in love with ant once you get close up to them❤️🐜❤️
Some are progressing faster than others. The footage for this video is all clips of a two month period roughly. I find that the size difference plays within and how much you're feeding them too!
oh I'm sorry, I'm no native english speaker. I meant, that they move so much more slow, if I try to film ants outside, they are just so fast! Maybe it is just species dependable @@AnnasAntics-fh2rp
Hey just curious, are you going to be looking at doing some car guides for these georgeous ladies? Im hoping to find a queen or 3. I would love to know how to properly care for them. Specially since the cacooning stage seems so delicate.
From Vietnam with love❤

hello in my trapjaw colony i found out that the larvae fail more if they spin a cocoon in testtube maybe because the tubes are smooth
I feel very welcomed back :p great video!

I Love Myrmecia, Really Wish We Could Have Then In US!

I love myrmecia they are so cute and evil looking.
Should have named your channel "Myrmecia Queen" 😅 New Sub 🐜💚
I have noticed that Bull Ant Larvae and Pupa have an extremely high mortality rate.
I’d be happy to trade a nigrocincta for a pyroformis if you would like that
