- This video explains what it's like to have a transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), and what to expect on the day of your test. Narrated by Dr. Christopher Kelly, MD, MS, FACC (North Carolina Heart and Vascular / UNC Rex Hospital).
I had this procedure last year it was a piece of cake for me....I went to sleep didn't feel a thing next thing I heard was the nurse saying wake up we're done.... Nurses doctors anesthesiologist all of them are AMAZING 🙏🏾👍🏾
I'm more afraid of what is the source of my click murmur-I fear getting another operation for the purpose of installing an artificial valve although i guess i should be grateful for living in this modern time.
this the test I had performed at Lafayette general medical center. I remember at point I didn't know I could tolerate it but the team gave me confidence to continue.
1) Is the size of the TEE tube similar to the size of the endoscopy tube ?
2) Can this procedure cause heart rhythm disturbance?
the tube can be seen seen in many you tube videos. you ask a good second question i don't know.
If u have sleep apnea can it still be done
Can I have this procedure done without any medicine?
Great explanation and detailed video. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for this. I'm scheduled for this procedure and was very nervous. I usually feel more at ease when I know what to expect.
Have you had it yet?
I’m doing this Monday! Did it go well for you?
My doc said i it's 10
Mins
Thanks doc! Your info is a God send! I am happy to have found it on UA-cam!
Thanks for sharing this video and information. I am scheduled for a TEE in about 7 weeks. Post Watchman procedure.😊
was kinda scared but i'm okay now
Much appreciated and super informative. I'm having a TEE on Monday...I was not sure what to expect and was quite nervous.
Thank you for being so informative and allowing us to visualize what goes on. I am a nurse over 11years and I'm changing my area of nursing to the cath lab. I do not want to go in blinded so I am researching all the things that I
need to know Again thank you now. I can see clearly of what goes on. I'm prepared for my 1st day.
So would a 68 yo female with C5-7 ACDF, loss of cervical curve, probable Loeys-Dietz and trouble swallowing be a candidate, to assess MVP with regurgitation and symptoms of heart failure?
Having this done tomorrow under general anesthesia as the first attempt failed due to me being immune to the sedative
Has anyone had any dental issues during the procedure?
AMAZING....my husband is so nervous so I wanted to watch and tell him it will be fine !!! Thank you
Just had Tee test today.. Just went to sleep and woke up .. that is... do not be afraid..

@@luckypenny312 yes it did
Gaano po kasakit ito huhu
Nag undergo ka na Ng TEE?
That stuff tastes awful
I think I’ll pass.
Not wanting to put people off this procedure who really need it, but my larynx/hyoid bone/ligament (the ENT couldn't tell me which) underwent damage following this procedure, which I was hesitant to have as the heart ultrasound performed by the surgeon already indicated aortic valve weakness. I was promised beforehand that I would be awake, but then they put me under a general anaesthetic. I may have been able to prevent the damage caused by the probe had I been awake.
Now, every time I swallow I experience a horrible electric shock which my dentist puts down to the hyoid bone getting 'hung up'. I have seen an ENT specialist, who said, 'I can't do anything for you." Next cab off the rank is a Head and Neck Surgeon in November. Don't know how he can help if the other specialist couldn't. Oh, and I have had several gastroscopies in the past but have never experienced this.
I don't believe you ONE bit Johnr!
Not even you, yourself, believe your own comment! (And you wrote it!)
Chingado!
@@sergiogalindo3024 Let's hope it never happens to you, Serge in his own little world. If it does, don't come crying to me for advice.
That is terrible. Sorry to hear.
@@jerrymaushard3835 Thanks, man. The Head and Neck Surgeon couldn't help - could only recommend massage therapy. It's worse when you're an old guy with no health insurance and have to find a rehab therapist to try to 'massage' the throat bits back into place on the government purse.
Im terrified
It's nothing.best sleep ever
I was never knock out! I panic attack, never could do it! The nurse tried to trick me and slam that bite thing on !
thanks
