One of my favourite Tull songs, much underrated I think.
Great to see youngsters apreciating this wonderful music.
You are looking at the greatest Rock Star in all of time. Greatest front man in the history of ROCK
Am a fan of Tull since by boyhood...
I saw this tour many years ago. The band was in their prime. I have had the privilege to see JT 20 times between 1973 and 1993.
over 300 times and counting........
Yes, this band friggin’ rocked! Love the best rhythm section JT ever had. RIP Mr. John Hancock. I saw this tour in L.A. sitting 2nd row DEAD center and it was the best show by Tull I witnessed, second to none. Proud to say I got sprayed with Ian’s sweat several times during the concert. No one works harder or gives a greater performance night after night than Ian. Rock on!
Correction, Mr. John Glascock
good but their best? no.
In 1972 my roomate was the biggest Tull fan. He told me if they are playing within a days ride in any direction we were going. We had the front row for like, four shows in a row. Ian walked onstage at the fourth stop and noticed us. My buddy waved and Ian mouthed "nice to see you again"
The Whole concert is available and it's absolutely wonderful.
It was nice seeing a young person that gets the music that was-is the soundtrack of my life. I saw Tull in concert before you were born & this song along with their song "My God" became the bases for my spiritual development.
My first time seeing Tull was that tour in 1977 at the Dane County Coliseum in Madison, Wisconsin. I was simply blown away as I had never quite seen anything like that. They were tight, well rehearsed, and incredibly theatrical. Every time Martin would launch into a guitar solo, Ian would dance around him and lean over him. Martin never missed a note. Ian was singing fantastic with all his cool flute playing and would go up to various member of the band and put the flute between their legs. There was always a thread of humor going on, but it never took away from the music. Glad to see you love Tull, Barry.
Its to bad that someone like you and others of your generation won't get to witness a live concert in a 20,000 seat arena. Tull at its peak was as big as it gets. I was lucky to see them live many times in the early to mid seventies. Being from long island I got to see them at the Nassau Colesium, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Shea Stadium (home of the NY mets, 50,000 seats). There is no way to explain the atmosphere and raw awesomeness of the sound.
Nice to see young people paying attention to old & legends of rock.
Jethro is one of my favourite bands, in top three (very close and I change the order all the time 🙂).
Sorry, i really hear this song for my first time. I ment, i had all, nothing, i'm 62 years old and over 21 years musicsaler. An amazing song!!!!!!
I hadn't heard A Child in Time by Deep Purple.... AMAZING!!!
My all time band of choice. Glasgow Apollo 1978.
Ian & Martin always surrounded themselves with other top musicians over all the years. This is why they continued for so many years sounding great
As owner of 28 CDs from them (am I a fan?) it's nice to see someone young as you are to appreciate their work.
For a few years this was the encore as they would Wind- Up the concert.... they were the best performers of the era to many and even gave up opening acts so they would open take a break and return with a second set.
Wind Up is from the Aqualung album. The song Rover is from the album Heavy Horses. 😎👍🏼
The album this was originally on was Aqualung
The Capital Center is no longer there, they blew it up to make way for office buildings but I saw Tull in 78, 79, and 80. Never a disappointing show. Ian always rocked the House.
You are so nice, how you react verrryyy seriously, like a teacher. Hey, madame it's rockhistery, j t is music lesson in the school.
At least you have the decency to allow us to listen
Bravo et merci pour le partage. Très grand groupe et immense chanteur. 👍😉👌
Its so refreshing to see a young person be a fan of Jethro Tull. One of my favorites. I saw them twice in 1977 and 1979.
So nice to see that Tull reaches to younger people. Great music is timeless.
Musicisti del del secolo che fu ❤🎉😊
The live version of Velvet Green from this concert really shows how good they were.
Piano dee palmer so good
I’ve never seen this live version, thanks for putting this out there, been a jethroite since 1969 first single I bought was life’s a long song , great to know some younger generation appreciate the oldies, Ian was the best showman ever, only got to see them once 30 ish years ago at Wembley- huge turnout along with fleetwood Mac ( what a concert best Id ever been to ,still is) Not bad for a bloke that couldn’t play the flute properly??? Lol.
“As you lick the boots of death , born out of fear !”
So true ,
Ian nails it
Just came across this. Saw this tour twice I believe, at least MSG and Philly. I was 17 and lived for this.
Jeffry toe is great, I just got into them last week, Hey Jude rules!!!!
I am fortunate to have seen Tull 28 times in several different states. There was nothing like seeing them in my hometown of Youngstown,Ohio (September,2000 ).Ian even gave us a thanks for being a great audience in his diaries on line.
Saw them in 1975 in Chattanooga,Tn . Yes back then in that state we rocked out . That garbage from Nashville nowadays that poses as Country music would have been a no go. They opened with the rockin bridge on wind up. The show was in my top five of best I ever saw
Appreciate you hon..
This is one of my favorite Tull songs. I had not seen this live version before. It seems rare that they played the whole song live. I also love Martin’s playing. He fills so well. Often just one perfectly timed note or chord can be so cool.
Saw over 15 Tull shows, and they are the greatest band ever.
The best at their best i still lusten every day my car has benefit in the cd player and i have one heck of a aystem sinfoni grandioso soeakers zapco hdsp-z16 9038 ess chip damore 1500.4 and these songs crank
Hi. This just came up on my UA-cam feed and I loved it. I saw them for the first time at the very same locale just 4 years later and it's still in my top 5 best concerts I've ever seen. Cheers, mate
Saw this tour when it came through here in Nashville in 1977 still remember that Derby hat!
Cant wait for more of my reactions
Check out his flute playing...
I’m happy whenever you do Tull. Would LOVE to hear you sing one of their songs someday. 🖤🖤
From one of the greatest albums ever made: Aqualung.
Barry..I have seen Ian and Jethro Tull at least a dozen times starting when they backed up Zeppelin…thru Thick and Passion Play…phenomenal!❤
the greatest frontman, talent, whatever you want to call him, but Ian Anderson was THE GREATEST ROCK PERFORMER OF ALL TIME
Just subscribed -- I love Tull too and its so nice to see someone who reacts to deeper cuts in their massive collection instead of just a few popular ones -- Have you heard Reasons for Waiting or A New Day Yesterday -- or maybe Wondrin Aloud Again? -- Just watched your Fat Man video too -- Love that song -- Cheers from a Fat Grandma Lol
I’ll have to check those songs out I’ve only been a fan of Jethro Tull for a few years. Cheers thank you for subscribing
Agree. There's 50 years of Tull and Anderson to enjoy. Try, 'Slow Marching Band', 'Weathercock', or, 'Velvet Green'.
@@haveabarryniceday238
I watched all the Jethro Tull videos you've done and they're all phenomenal but another really really good one if you love Martin Barr and of course IA is the "Bursting Out" CD. On that you should listen to that version of "Locomotive Breath" live Martin Barrs guitar in the beginning of that is just about the best I've ever heard and right after that is
"Damn Buster's March" and again Martin Barr we'll blow your head away, they're both totally awesome I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Jethro Tull has always been one of my favorite bands of all time and Martin Barr and IA are both Master Class.
Muackkkkkk !!! 💋💋💋💋
Jethro tull..live...great. song live
Nothing compares to this. I heard /seen JT four times. It's amazing
a hug from Brazil, I love Jethro!!!
I saw Tull 5-6 times in the 70's always great shows. Tight Tight band, and that voice!
Thank you for appreciating great .music/ art.
Such a great tune. Thanks for the reaction and keeping this music alive.
Ian Anderson early work was by far my favorite!!!! TOTALLY EXCELLENT
✌️😌😊
Right FREAKIN" on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They should be in the rock&roll hall of fame
You know what's left on my list? There shouldn't be that much left
Great that you appreciate the music of this magnificent band. The name of the band is Jethro Tull - not Jethro Tool.
That's her southern accent coming through.
Loved your reaction to this awesome group! Hadn't seen this clip before, thanks for putting It up.
Yeah, Martin's a great guitar player, definitely!
Great reaction to this amazing performance, but you really have to find the version of this show that has not been edited!
In the original, Ian and band do a mind blowing version of "Back Door Angels" with Martin in full form!
I"ve always hated religion and having to go to Sunday School. Took me 30 years to hear this. So succinct and groovy. haha
I wish I had his derby!
Dirty billy hats check em out
Jethro Tull at his best, with A GREAT LINE-UP....the best one of all!!
With respect, the singer is Ian Anderson and Jethro tull is the name of the band. I agree with your opinion of Tull. Never heard of the album Landrover that this girl is talking about. Don't think it's been released in the UK, but this classic song is without any doubt from the album Aqualung. Have seen Tull twice - at Hammersmith Odeon, London and City Hall, Hull. Kind regards.
@@patrickkilvington4880 I believe "Landover" is a bootleg. To the original comment in this thread, I prefer the line-up previous to this with Jeffrey Hammond "Hammond" who although was not as good a bass player as Clascock, he was more theatrical on stage.
Might be ridiculous but in my 60 years on this Earth no lyric in any song has resonated with me as much as "he's not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays".
Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull is probably my favorite band to see live. I have seen them 5 times from the early 1970's to 2003 with my son when he was 18. Love the lesser known tunes, especially from the early years. If you get a chance try "Cry You A Song" or Teacher. Just subscribed to your channel and look forward to checking out your reactions.
Rock on 🤘Peace ✌
I've also seen JT many times between 1973 and 1993. Probably the best band to see live during those years. I saw them again for the 50th anniversary tour in 2018. I was disappointed but Ian is still a fantastic songwriter and composer.
It's Martin Bar-ray not Martin Bar - it took me years to learn that.
I like yer style
i commented 7 months ago im awesome
There is no album called land rover by Jethro Tull
Thank you for letting me know
The music is only half of the Tull, I've seen him live, and the performance is the other half.
Can you please react to the brand new 2021 Tears for fears song just released called The Tipping point
It blew me away omg I know it will blow you away !
Please Please
You can learn a bunch listening to Ian Anderson and Pete Townshend from the Who.
Well have to start by saying I was a huge fan since around 1972 and I saw JT in concert around 7 times in the 70s
I still love the music from those days and of course I just love it when new generations find an appreciation for this music that was so great. However I have to say I just hope these kinds of videos are true and people aren't just trying to get on the internet. The thing is I see so many of these types of videos where people are giving their reaction to music and so I started wondering if some of these people that post these things are not being honest. I can only say I sure hope they are being true. And my apologies to this young lady as it just happened to be her video that I posted this thought to...
No one else is remotely close to Ian Anderson
You may want to watch the video live of my God including Borre
Ü
Ian was sick the entire tour. Two sold out concerts at Madison Square Garden and the Doctor advised him not to perform. The promoter threatened Ian that he had to go on or else don't come back to the Garden.
Yes, I believe this was the beginning of his vocal decline. They cancelled and rescheduled the show I had tickets for in Anaheim, California. The reason given was a throat infection. You can hear a raspy voice, still excellent at this point though. Eventually, it became so bad on one tour, during instrumental sections, he would sit at a Cafe table toward the rear stage right, and breath in a vaporizer hidden behind a menu. On the Under Wraps Tour, I saw him chastise the people in the front rows after the first song for smoking that s*** because it was killing his throat. He canceled the second show the next night and flew back to England to rest his voice. So glad I saw him on every tour beginning with TAAB through the early 90's.
I'm a 54 your old fat man looking for a hot woman who loves listening to Jethro Tull and I'm funny as hell....I think.🤯😂
I think this was from Aqualung.
Yes, this is the last song on the album.
Was this capital not hippodrome i guess
What is Land Rover ?
Land Rover was the name of one of Jethro Tull’s albums . Just a name I’m not sure of the meaning
@@haveabarryniceday238 I've never heard of an album called land rover by Jethro Tull. I think you must be mistaken, Because I've been following Jethro Tull since the late sixties, and I've never heard of that Album
@@haveabarryniceday238 no, there was no album named land rover, by Jethro Tull.
@@haveabarryniceday238 There is a song called "Rover" off of Tull's "Heavy Horses" album. Could that be what you mean? If not, then you might be talking about a bootleg that I've not heard of.
@@dunringill1747 thank you for letting me know, I’ve been a fan for a few years
What’s the sense of playing a video if your eyes closed
This is not from 1977. It’s from the aqua lung album in 1971.
