What a band men.. Without Shannon Blind Melon couldn't continue he was kind of like the soul of the band
I saw them with the other young fella. If you closed your eyes you'd of thought Shannon was there. He was fantastic. I mean spot on all night. Yet, I don't think he was up to the task of writing on the same level.

Neh, it requires a few listens before you can fully appreciate it. They only listen to it once or twice. So yeah, that's also why it wasn't popular enough, so you're actually right ;). But who cares about fame, I only care about the music I like to listen to.

I feel like these guys were SO close to a record that would’ve been revolutionary when they lost Shannon. When WE lost him. What a great bunch of performers. What a loss. I’m glad that they’ve seen some success without him, but I’m of the opinion that they should use a different name. Same goes for Sublime and Alice In Chains. I love all three, but their whole personality (to the non-musician, anyway) was in their frontmen. Seems wrong to me, and I’ll always compare their work to what they achieved before (without exception, WORLDS better), which the whole world is satisfied with. No need for more, and if there is, use your star power to attract a new frontman, don’t ride the coattails of a dead man.
