“Don’t use Heavenly Pot Buster unless you know it’ll land because you can get hard punished for missing.” Pot Mains: “That sign won’t stop me because I can’t read!”
Garuda Impact: VERY powerful +19 frames on block. Guard crushes opponent on block. Builds up RISC and does tons of chip damage on block. This move truly is a block-buster
I really appreciate this! GGST is the first traditional fighter that I’ve been putting a lot of time into with Pot, and I’ve always had trouble trying to effectively condition and keep an opponent guessing, then punish them for the habits they overuse. This guide has essentially broken down everything I need and it’s incredible! All I need to do now is to better analyze my opponent and have a general idea on what their habits are, rather than making a poor and random guess on whatever people usually do. Basically to put these tips into practice. Thank you so much for this video!!!
Wonderful video! it's helpful as well to people who don't know Potemkin's options on pressure, it can be really helpful for those who don't play Potemkin too!
could you explain how you optimize hammer fall so well (because you have to hold back, I'm not sure how you input it whilst applying pressure) and how to escape an opponents pressures in the corner with the meaty boy??
it's rough for him, mega fist backwards is very good since it jump faster than regular jump and you can combo into knockdown from counter. also yellow rc and both super can free you from pressure
Blue beat combos work like this: When you're guard crushed, if you get hit during this state the combo will be a blue beat which will do extra damage. The blue combo counter basically means that you COULD have blocked, but you didn't. Same principle applies to when you get staggered, if you don't get out of stagger in time the combo can be a blue beat, which means you COULD have escaped, but didn't. Though this one I'm not too sure on.
It seems like it also makes otherwise impossible combos work? as I've never seen 5k link to Garuda anywhere else, nor his uncharged 5d link to cs, but maybe that's just my inexperience.
@@milobaron9124 Well that's not due to the blue beat, that's because of the BRC. BRC slowdown still applies even when you get hit, allowing for (as you say) otherwise impossible combos.
Oh man I must seem really dumb to have forgotten about that, my bad :]. And I spent all that time labbing 236p prc cs 214h for consistency using the slowdown, ouch
I had the same trouble at first. Don't mash. You have to wait for Pot to land basically and then 5D. Kind of tricky. But try to 5D before the screen goes to normal. Meaning when you RC the screen kind of fades black, so you would have to 5D before it returns to normal.

ironically when I whiff HPB hard I Dust as I'm coming down cause no one expect the Heavenly Potekim Booty drop into a normal buster
This is gonna be my last video for a while, as I'll be away from my desktop! Hope this helps your gameplay out!

Is there any resource explaining blue bar combos? they seem rather opaque, and I thought the distinction between blue and normal was one was escapable

@@milobaron9124 prc into bnb knockdown combo is better than Garuda buster with a little more damage
Question, how do i get the blue combo counter with 5D after a roman cancelling out of a blocked garuda?
do i have to mash 5D or is it a timing thing?
I had the same trouble at first. Don't mash. You have to wait for Pot to land basically and then 5D. Kind of tricky. But try to 5D before the screen goes to normal. Meaning when you RC the screen kind of fades black, so you would have to 5D before it returns to normal.
