    Rhodes-Vivour is spot on here! What a calm personality! The way and manner this GMO is going in Nigeria and many other African countries is such an insult to our collective intelligence as a people. Just watch again and listen to what he said about GM seeds and crops in Russia. What an annoying situation - the more I listen to this interview, the
    angrier I become!

    Nigerians should ask why doesn't the United States don't have GMO in their food? I have lived in the United States for 49 years, and GMO is monitored.

    • @ADE-of-LAGOS
      @ADE-of-LAGOS Годину тому

      Are you really based in the USA? Most of their food already has GMO. It's only in Europe that it's controlled. Better be reading food packages labels when you go to the groceries.

      @ADE-of-LAGOS Says who and are you based in the United States? I don't know how or where you got your information from. Google and research it.

    • @elliotono2341
      @elliotono2341 36 хвилин тому

      @ADE-of-LAGOS Organic foods don't contain GMO, and that's what l buy. By the way, because foods in the United States contain GMO, it makes it okay to consume in Nigeria. Why do some folks have to measure the standards in Nigeria with countries in the West? This morning, l was watching a Nigerian attorney lambasting the book written by Dele Farotimi. The examples this attorney used was deformation of character in France and the UK. It was just so absurd for an educated attorney comparing the laws in France, a French speaking country to Nigeria. Then he mentioned the UK. Nigeria is a sovereign country. I don't understand why the comparison. Nigeria is not under slavery.

    These are the type of topics we should be discussing and taking very seriously. All these are the reason life expectancy keep reducing in this country. Cancer here and there and the people think witches are the cause not knowing it's the food we consume/ don't consume. Please say NO TO GMO IN AFRICA.

      They won’t listen, they’ll learn the hard way. Like it has always been throughout the years. Everything about GMO is evil. Why would Monsanto be pushing this on other countries if there’s no financial benefits to them? And knowing the greed of this corporations, they care less and it’s easier for them to get away with crimes in Africa by killing millions.

    The GMO seedlings is an insidious agenda to our agro- economy & ecosystem. Govt should provide SECURITY & INCENTIVES to enable our farmers go back to farm. Nigeria has good climate/weather (tropical environment) for agricultural activities. No natural disasters unlike temperate regions of western countries.

    Was that not the reason Nigerians are saying they are the ones here, selling farm products at unreasonable prices, claiming use, or Sola did not come with me
    Most of the urgly local players don't even want me to have farm land. Was that not why they were killing the tomatoes I planted at my backyards, cutting their heads?
    what is the result of Covid 19
    And how is it related to Nigeria's election?

    This is about ownership. Your ability to grow your food. Theses seeds cannot grow or have very poor yield if you plant them in the next planting season. You must come buy new seeds from them

And we all know he's fully involved in GM food and he mentioned this to Bola tinubu. Pls let the APC government continue to fight the insecurity which is major problems of our foods insecurity. GM food is the course of random health issues worldwide. Organic food is the answer besides, are we better with our traditional food production?

  • @isee8423

    Very important segment. A scenario where the whole crop has failed has occurred in banana farming. When you get everyone to plant the same variety of a crop, if there is a disease that attacks the crop the whole countries yield is affected. If you have multiple varieties being planted if one gets affected by pest or disease the others may be resistant and you don't have universal crop failure. That's just one scenario. There are many reasons why resisting GMO seeds is best for a country. The advocate has listed many but the list of reasons are far and wide. Another thing, these companies collect genetic material from all over the world and store it for themselves and patent their knowledge. Then they go around spreading their patented seeds. So what happens if that the farmers aren't maintaining genetic diversity by planting different varieties and types of seeds they are all no planting the same seeds. Eventually the varieties starts to disappear from the farming ecosystem because the farmers are not growing them. Then the only person with this genetic material is the Conglomerate seed companies and the own the patent too.
