As a fellow camper, I think we are set up best for isolation during an emergency. My husband and I talk about how we would have all we need if there were a big earthquake, we are in Southern California very close to a fault line so our preparedness is related to that.

We all just need to get through this and hopefully, we'll be kinder and more appreciative on the other side. Peace to all.

I've seen a few other Aliners in the winter (Slim Potatohead) and you all have issues with insulation and condensation because so many pieces of metal, like the hinges, bridge the inside and out. I think one guy used pool noodles to help, he also installed a wood burner. Keep warm and safe.

Same as you do when tent camping. Most state campgrounds have toilets and running water to wash with. In the wilderness, dig a shallow hole to use that, or you can buy a camping toilet. Wet naps are a godsend, and on some surplus or camping sites you can get whole body wash towels. Truck stops often have shower facilities for a small fee, too. None of this is hard.

I had a 2002 Aliner for a while. I remember parking at a free camp near Noosa which was FULL of backpackers. Then that night, boy did it rain. It was tropical rain but the temperature dropped too so it was very cold. In the morning I remember watching all of the poor souls from the window of my Aliner. Many of them were completely drenched, picking their stuff up out of the mud. Rough night for these young ones. Some were sitting in the aftermath of the rain with the most miserable faces I've ever seen. And there I was, watching them all through the window with a warm coffee in hand, the King of the Campsite.
(I dramatised it a bit but it is a true story)

He used ether pool noodles or pipe insulation on the edge of his hinges and edges to prevent the loss of heat it seemed to work real well for him. Just a suggestion to help out! He also built a small wood stove for the inside of his with a chimney and it worked on wood pellets so it would last longer and use less wood he really is quite the inventor!

If you've got some of those poop and scoop bags for dogs, keep a roll in ur pocket for putting over your hands for gas pumps and store door handles, then properly dispose of them after each use, great if you don't have gloves and extremely cheap and safe for this crazy time in our lives, stay safe brother!

They make disposable rubber gloves which are cheaper than doggie doo bags lol Why use bags when you can buy gloves for just as cheap?

When I invest in $75k in gear, I will have a shower and shitter, somehow. When I have money, I don’t have time and when I have time I don’t have money. Funny how that works.

That is so funny. My family and I were the one's in the Tacoma you filmed driving by. We saw your Aliner which made me search them on UA-cam. Small World indeed. Your vids are super cool. You gave away a super secret fishing hole though LOL!

Now IS the time to take your wife out for an adventure,if you are lucky enough to own a camper!! Drive far away from any civilization, where there are no viruses and stay there until this crazynes is over! My neighbors did that" bye bye" they said and drove off with their camper, they'd rather spend their quarantine in a camper where they can go out whenever they want to,without neighbors, than sit in their house day in and day out. I wish I'd have a camper(and a drivers license..)

That is super owlsome. Setting up camp near the main highway just in case you need to get towed out. With the traffic somebody is always near and passing close enough if you need assistance. Owlsome. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Phil ... thanks again for your video of the Nevada dessert. You guys have some pretty terrific public lands. We don't have as must open land in Ontario Canada. Just love your girl Coda. She is a terrific companion. I think your videos are more important now that we are all self isolating at home, so an extra thanks to you. mary

I just found your video and heard you say in the beginning something about your quarantine spot. I had to check the date to see when this was filmed bc I couldn’t believe we’re still in quarantine. This started when it was snowing and now it’s almost 100 degrees where I live. It’s unbelievable we’ve been in this situation for multiple seasons now.

you could put stuff in the truck bed, without it getting wet or full of snow, if you would cover it up. It would not cost much and would also keep your bike from rusting etc.
