ABOUT ME:
My name is Shelly and I’m a 44-year-old web geek that jumped off the deep end into the makeup and beauty world. I’ve got normal to dry skin (very dry in the winter), fine lines, and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. Cameo appearances by my rescue cats Daffy, Polly, Ziva, and Merlin.
I have super dry skin and have tried samples of almost everything. I was becoming a product junkie with serums, creams, oils etc with numerous steps to put all of that on my face. It was a chore! I found Jergens All Purpose Face Cream (old fashioned cold cream) for $3.47 at Walmart and now I don’t have to use oils, creams, moisturizers, or serums. It’s perfect for taking all my makeup off plus I have money to buy other stuff I enjoy like perfumes. 👍🏾
I'm so glad you posted this. I have very sensitive eyes, and anything that burns is a deal breaker for me.
I just use straight coconut oil. I know a lot of people experience breakouts but I don’t have any problems with it. 🤷♀️ Super cheap too.
Maureen Allen does it rinse clean or how do u get it off after? Thx!
I love the Farmacy green balm. I just opened my sixth jar!! Glad you discussed No7 because I was considering that one but will now pass. I do occasionally use Clinique when I travel. Thank you for the reviews. I have 50 year old dry skin.
I want to try the Farmacy one!
Clinique Take the Day Off is one of my very few HG items. If you just compare the ingredients in Cliniques to something like DE, you have to ask yourself why DE needs all the extras to do the same thing. Clinique wins for someone with very sensitive skin, or for someone with Rosacea.
Yep definitely. It's what I brought with me on my trip. The small jars travel so well!
I just opened my third jar of Clinique balm! Definite favorite! I love how clean it leaves my skin. Thanks for the video 🐹🐹🐹🐹
I had a biology teacher tell me once that olive oil most closely mimics the lipids in the skin so I use that...it works pretty perfect. Kinda like the DHC cleansing oil but without the vitamins that apparently sting my eyes.
I wanted to love the Clinique one because so many people love it, but it makes me sneeze every time I use it. I do reuse the mini travel pot, though. I just put cold cream in it because that's an effective first cleanser for my skin, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than any cleansing balms I've seen.
Great idea for a video, Shelly! I have been using the Hado Labo Cleansing Oil for about 2 years but prefer a balm. I've used the Clinique in the past and am considering going back to it. I honestly don't mind that I have to stick my paw in the container. I wash my hands before starting my routine so I'm ok with that. But then I'm the type that has a 30 sec rule vs the standard 5. Savage...I know! 😎 Thanks again and loving your look today!
I have the Heimish Cleaning Balm and love it, but you don’t have to unscrew the lid to get get to the product...... I just flip open the top and then pull the tab inside. Works great!
Mine is like that as well. I wonder if the US versions have different packages. I get mine from Korea. ❤️
I will try that on mine! Thanks, Jessica!
I love the Farmacy cleansing balm. I have extremely sensitive eyes and they all irritate my eyes my I have extremely dry skin so cleansing balms work best for me. I prefer the Farmacy to the Clinique.
Enjoyed! TY! The Heimish always gives me major clogged pores. I still use the BOTANIC FARM Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet. It gets normal eye makeup off not if it's a heavy eye, but I am not patient. It might? I use a eye makeup remover on those days. Tried the Ponds on a trip & liked it. Wanted the Physician's formula. I will eventually try that. My goal is to find one w/ no coconut oil. That's pretty hard & coconut oil hides under so many names!
I'm just now starting to research the various oil ingredients and coconut oil is super sneaky!!
I use Clinique's balm. Work its magic then wet my hands, foam it up on my face and use a microfiber cloth to remove it. Balm even comes out of the cloth like magic. Good video!!
I've always marveled at how easily it rinses from the cloth!
During the summer I prefer a gel oil cleanser rather than a balm. My favorite is Jordan Samuel gel cleanser - the after show version. I’m into sensory luxury as well as efficacy. I know people say to not spend much on cleansers but I think they’re important. Plus I just really enjoy the step.
Ann Edwards what is a gel oil texture? I have his face serum and mist which I like so you have me interested.
Your makeup look is so pretty! The green in your eyes is really enhanced!
Thanks, Julie!
I liked the farmacy green clean better than the clinque take the day away.
I had the Ren Rosa Centifolia cleansing balm and loved it. Back then, it came in a tub but now I think it’s in a tube.
Great review! I'm working thru the physicians formula balm right now but won't repurchase. I think I'm going to try the good molecules one. My favorite is the face and body shop rice cleansing oil.
I emulsify my Cliinique "Take the Day Off" balm by mixing in a face oil. It improves the texture and extends the product. BTW, I use a balm by Yes To. It makes a great first step of a double cleanse -- and it comes with a little silicone face cleaner-thingie. What a bargain!
That is a great idea - I'm going to try that! Thanks, Nancy!
Although it's very pricey and completely bougie, my ultimate HG cleansing balm is the Emma Hardie Moringa. I learned about it probably about 6 years ago from Caroline Hirons and have never looked back! I've used countless tubs of it at this point and will never ever be without it. I use it as my second cleanse every evening. First cleanse is a pass over the face and eyes with a cotton pad and the Ko Gen Do cleansing water, 2nd cleanse is the Emma Hardie, and the third cleanse is with a cleansing milk product, typically by Shiseido. It emulsifies down to an oil and leaves my skin so soft! If you ever get the chance to try it, please let me know what you think.
I love the Clinique cleansing balm. I hate to admit it, but I despise removing my make up. I do it, but it's the worst. I'm tired or lazy or whatever. The Take the Day off balm has made it a less dreaded ritual, so I'm not messing with it. Lol. But thanks for the great review!
Great video! Could you do a best setting spray for dry over 40?
Ooooh good one! Added to the video list - thanks!!
I’m glad I came across this in the Shelly Vault. I need to find a cleansing balm.
Ooooh I love cleansing balms! To this day my sentimental favorite is the limited edition Farmacy Beauty cherry one (it comes and goes in availability), and as far as all around favorite for performance vs price, Good Molecules.
Thank you for your compressive analysis of these. I do not like take the day off. For me it does not remove my eye make up and the one I like the best, although I haven’t tried drunk elephant, is the Good Molecules. It removes all my eye make up with little effort, and all my face make up-everything rinses away. The only other cleansing balm I have tried that I like is by IT Cosmetics and they have a very good one as well, but I still think I like the Good Molecules the best for me.
Ponds makes a cleansing balm now that is very effective & inexpensive. I think it is like $10 for 3.4 oz and is rose scented and does contain mineral oil (not a problem for me but might be for someone else). It is very similar to Clinique's cleansing balm and does not bother my contact lenses or my eyes.
Gothamista had a video a while back and she had recommended Yes to Coconuts cleansing balm. I’ve been meaning to try it, but haven’t yet! Also, cute top! ;)
JeannieLeeBee I tried it based on her recommendation and did not care for it at all. Broke me out straight away.
Thanks, Jeannie!
I love the Physicians Formula balm. I'm also looking at the Found Beauty balm at Walmart.
Amanda I have been pleasantly surprised by the PF one too.
Hi Shelly! a cleansing balm I do enjoy is the PIXI one by Caroline Hirons. I LOVED this video BTW thank you for doing it! I have a couple other very expensive balms that I use sometimes but not that often because they have a lot of essential oils in them, but occasionally I dip in for the fragrance of it, is the ELEMIS balm and the orange one from BOBBIE BROWN. I wouldn't recommend using either of them on the eyes but they are very thick and lux they make me happy when I smell them LOL
I am totally a person that uses things because they make me happy when I smell them! See: my Tatcha and Caudalie obsessions 😂
I made the 'mistake' of getting the Emma Hardie cleansing balm. Super expensive but amazing experience of cleansing, aroma and texture. I have stayed away from Drunk Elephant, Tarte and the rest in that league because it's horrible for my budget. Clinique TTDO is my staple because as you say it does the job well and if you grab it at a discount it's a decent deal. I have repeatedly purchased the Farmacy Green Clean. Does the job with a hit of luxury and not quite breaking the bank. Thanks for this
I make many of those "mistakes" and my wallet curses me, but they make me so happy!
I’m old school I still use the ponds cleansing balm or cold cream whatever it’s called.....for sensitive skin. It gets all my makeup off really well. And I still tone with sea breeze & witch hazel.
I remember Sea Breeze!! I haven't seen it in forever!
I get it from my local drug store, but Walmart doesn't carry anything but an equate brand and to me its not the same it leaves a sticky residue on my face and my sea breeze does not do that, it leave me clean without residue. maybe you can look at your local hometown drugstores and see if they have it hanging out on a bottom shelve.
Thank you Shelley. Would love to hear your thoughts on the Physicians Formula matcha cleansing balm and the ponds cleansing balm.
I know the dermatologist (Dr. Dray) she mentioned said Ponds© was good for the skin, but she didn't mention the texture or "experience" as Shelly calls it.😅
I'm currently trying the Ponds. I saw Dr. Dray's video and then happened to see it at the store. I don't wear waterproof mascara unless I know I'm going to be heavy duty crying. It takes my makeup off with no problem. I have rosacea so my skin is extremely sensitive and this does not irritate my skin at all. I'll be 50 this year, have normal to dry skin during the hot months and very dry in the winter.
I need to try both of those!
@@goow I second this comment. Please give us an updated review on the Ponds Cleansing Balm please.
Thank you for the review! Now I use the farmacy and I love it!! I have the small version de clinique y a sample of drunk elefant. I want to finish the three and check wich like me more!
....did you just break out in Spanish there for a second? Lolol
I wish the Physicians Formula was included to see how you ranked it. I like it a lot better than Clinque but haven't tried the others.
I haven't been able to find it locally! But I have another bunch of balms I want to try, so there will be another round-up!
@@goow I've been buying it at the CVS in Staunton. I'm pretty sure the CVS on Port carries it too. I'm on my second jar!
I really like this cleanser too!! I'm able to purchase it at my local grocery store and I've also seen it at target, Walmart, and CVS if that helps. This is the closest I've been able to get to the clinique take the day off and it's cheaper!
@@goow So I was watching this video this past weekend because I need a replacement for a cleansing oil that I thought was cruelty free but likely isn't (WHY, THE FACE SHOP, WHY?!?!?! Your cleanser is SO SO GOOD!). Since Clinique is not CF and I don't want to spend DE money, I was trolling the comments and saw this thread about the PF - I picked it up today (6/20/19) on sale at my local Walgreens with a coupon so I got it for $4.09! I also swatched some stuff while I was there and used the cleanser to wash my hand with it - IT SMELLS SO GOOD. If you've ever been to a Westin, it smells like a Westin hotel (they pump scented air into their lobbies and it smells like all their amazing smelling toiletries). So far, so good - will report back after I wash my face tonight.... Also.... I'm sitting here at my work desk smelling my jar of cleansing balm like an idiot........
UPDATE: Was I wearing makeup yesterday? No. Did I put on a full face of makeup when I got home, just to wear it for a few hours so I could test out my new cleansing balm? YA KNOW I DID. Verdict? Good! I used one eye of waterproof mascara and one eye of regular - it removed it pretty well. Maybe not as perfectly as you describe the Clinique does, but I think it did pretty well - certainly good enough to try it.
I hate spending money on the Clinique one but it's the only one that works for my super sensitive (rosacea) skin. Sometimes I can find it at Off Saks or Nordstrom Rack online. I always pick up the minis when they are point perks at sephora.
Yep I hoard those points minis too!
Once again I totally enjoyed your video! Very informative. Personally, I use baby oil to remove all of my mascara. I fold a Kleenex hot dog style and load the kleenex up with baby oil. Then I press it to my lashes and let it sit. I do not rub. I also do not get it on the inside tear duct corner of my eyes so that it does not get into my eyes and sting or blur them. I find it works exceedingly well, and I too do not like to go to bed with any trace of mascara left on my lashes. Finally, I really appreciated your final comments regarding everyone's comments. I felt you were very sincere, as always, and I totally agreed!
Thanks, Jeanne! I will try this!
For every day at home, I love the convenience of a cleansing oil with a pump, it’s super quick. For my last vacation I tried the mini Clinique balm to cut down on liquids and it worked great.
Great reviews! You are always thorough and touch on things others don't always mention; like the experience, the scoop, and breaking the price down per oz. Thank you!
Thanks, Valerie!
Eve Lom is absolutely unbelievable!! (Available at Sephora.) Really fabulous for my very mature dry to very dry skin. But, expensive. I must say it lasts me a year or more... It is fabulous if you are peeling from Retin-A or Retinol use used in the A.M. with a Forea or Clarisonic. Best I have found from Drugstore, Department Store or Medical Grade Skincare after “decades” of product comparisons. Thanks for your reviews. They are very informative.😉👍🏻👍🏻❤️
I love the Pond's cleansing balm. I have sensitive combo skin.
Really?? I've been afraid to try it but only because honestly, I've not really found the ingredient lineup with the brand to be very kind to my skin.
What's it like? Any strong fragrance/fragrance at all?
@@michellesmith702 There is a fragrance, I don't think it's that strong. I find it feels and performs very similarly to the Take The Day Off.
Your reviews are always so wonderful! THANK YOU!!!! I have been spending allot of time "in thought" recently, concerning skincare and cosmetics.
I was looking for an alternative to Clinique but i’ll stick with it. Thanks for this review. I just found your channel.
Yep the Clinique is one of those ride-or-die types, a staple that will surely be around for years.
The 4 I've tried so far are Heimish, The Body Shop, Clinique and Pond's. Of those 4, I feel Clinique and Pond's do the best job. I'm on my second jar of the Pond's but I really really don't like the fragrance, too perfume-y. BUT it's so much less expensive than the Clinique and since I'm washing it off, I put up with it for now. I will definitely add the DE one to my list of ones to try. As always, I so much appreciate you testing things out for us, Thank you Shelly!!
Thank you! Been looking for a cleansing balm to replace the oil cleanse. I’m glad you touched on the No7. A lot of UA-cam folks love that brand but so many of their products have fragrance and/or bad alcohol.
I love the Estée Lauder cleansing balm. It is so luxurious and has a light fragrance that I enjoy. I’ve only used samples and it is just so expensive! Several times I have had it in my cart, but removed it. I am on my first tub of the Clinique. A bargain compared to EL! But I really enjoy how good it works. I used to use one of the Boscia cleansing oils, and I really enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for this review! I was looking for a comparison between Clinique balm and GM, and yours is the only one I could find.
I’m currently using the NYX cleansing balm. I like the texture and that there’s no fragrance. It’s pretty good (some say it’s a dupe for the Lancôme cleansing balm) but I’m open to trying others. I’m super sensitive and my eyes water a bit from this one. Nothing serious and I don’t think less sensitive eyes would water, plus the price is right. Thanks for sharing your recommendations.
I use the Creme Shop, Melt Away 3 in one cleansing balm with clarifying charcoal and it’s pretty good, it gets in my eyes but it doesn’t sting, I get the clouded vision for a wee bit but other than that it’s pretty good...I think u have the best comment section on UA-cam as everyone shares their recommendations, it’s brilliant, it’s maybe not good for the bank balance but it’s well worth it...have u been to Boots yet? I love Boots and it’s the shop I go to all the time, their points system is one of the best ones in the UK
I love Boots!! Yep I just bought some stuff there last night and I will be back! I went late right before they closed so I only picked up a few things (I found the new Pixi foundation and grabbed that!)
Geek Out of Water I love boots too, it’s my fav shop to go to, they just have everything u need, the boots I have that’s closest to me isn’t a massive one but we have another one that’s bigger. I can’t wait to see what ur thoughts are on the pixi foundation, like I said it’s not full coverage or even medium but it’s pretty for those no makeup, low makeup days, I hope u like it
I just purchased the Drunk Elephant & The Ordinarys Squalane Cleaner...can't wait to try them out
I bought the Squalane cleanser right before I left for Ireland :) It's waiting for me at home!
i received a mini sample of the good molecules and it’s my first experience with a cleansing balm and it’s sooo good and fun to use 🤣
I've loved everything I've tried so far from Good Molecules. I don't hear people talking about them but they are making some excellent, affordable stuff!
Try the body shop camomile one. It's great 😊
Love my Clinique take the day off! I use the liquid eye makeup remover as well. It’s amazing too!
Shelly, Pond's makes a cleansing balm. I found it at Target for $10. it's one of the ones that you use a tiny amount of water with to emulsify it, and then you can rinse it off. Very light scent to it but smells nice.
I need to try that one! There will definitely be another roundup after all of the suggestions in the comments of balms I need to try :-D
I am also a huge fan of cleansing balm’s. I am over 50 have dry/ combo skin. I have extremely sensitive eyes. So I have been using the pharmacy cleansing balm I really think that you should try that. I absolutely love it and now I actually have a back up luxury size of the drunk elephant cleansing balm and I ordered a large of the good molecules one. I am so glad that I watched your video because I definitely will not to try a few of those I’m probably going to pick up the Clinique one at some point maybe when they have a bonus time. Keep doing what you’re doing and let me know if you try the farmacy cleaning balm. Based on all of your criteria I think you will love it!
So glad to hear you like the Good Molecules one! It’s been in my cart and I’m definitely going to order it now. If you haven’t tried them yet I’d also recommend the IT Cosmetics one (I like it better than Clinique!) or the Ponds balm (not the old school cold cream). It’s not as good as Clinique but way cheaper!
I need to try both of those! I'm riding a bit of a cleansing balm obsession right now 😂
Haven’t watched this yet but glad to see it! I haven’t had one of these but since I’ve been wearing makeup everyday I’ll be picking one up and I hope you’ve got a good drugstore one in here! Fingers crossed and thank you
I'm with you on having a tool to help scoop out the product, I went to Sephora and they gave a little scooper works great and super easy to keep clean.
Great video! I am really enjoying the Farmacy balm right now. I have heard good things about the Ponds cleansing balm but haven't tried it yet.
I also used Clinique take the day off cleansing balm And have been craving information on other balms! Beautiful timing as usual 💓 awesome video
Thanks, Linda!
Thank you for this video. I’ve been using Clinique for a few weeks and love it. I know this brand won’t make my skin go out of whack and was debating to try another less expensive one. Hmmmm decisions decisions
I have a feeling that it's no coincidence that my favorites are the most expensive. If I had to theorize, I bet cheaper ingredients are more likely to irritate eyes at least. My skin is mostly happy with all of them, but my eyes, not so much.
I've been wondering about these! I had surgery on my eye the other day to have a chalazion removed (painful!!) and realized how hard I was scrubbing to get eye make up off! I needed this video!!
Almay eye makeup remover pads are great for mascara and liner removal. Dont like balms for removing eye liner cause they get in eyes. Favorite is shu uemura ultime 8 oil. Just melts everything, especially waterproof sunscreen. Great review
I shelled out $70 for Elemis cleansing balm (a treat-yo-self moment) and can’t believe how *not* worth it it is. It takes makeup off, sure, but it’s so fragranced and chock full of coconut oil. While I was in line at Ulta waiting to pay for it, I tested Clinique’s cleansing balm and caught myself thinking “wow, this is so much better, why aren’t I buying this?” Answer: Elemis has prettier packaging 🤦🏻♀️ Exchanging it today. Clinique really is a great product. Can also vouch for Eminence Stone Crop cleansing oil, which I’ve used for years but recently developed a sensitivity to (which is why I was shopping around in the first place). Clinique it is - such a minimalist formula that works, feels good on the skin and washes off clean without leaving an oily residue behind.
Kate Somerville cold cream is very nice and i love the smell sooo good also i wanna try charlet tilbury cleansing balm im a big cleansing balm junkie ive got like 7 lol but i love to try new ones
Oh my I didn't realize CT had one and now I must find it!
I've had the one by Good Molecules on my wish list since it came out -- I think I will try that one. I've really been pleased with the other items from that brand that I've tried!
Thank you for this video! I tend to use cleansing balms just for makeup removal - otherwise I use a cleansing oil. I've used both Banila Clean It Zero and Cailyn Dissolv'It Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm. Of the two, I prefer the Cailyn. It has the nicer texture and "experience", and does slightly better at removing eye makeup than the Clean it Zero. Regardless of how clean my eyes may look, I always do a final swipe with Micellar water to make sure I get the last bits of mascara from under my eye before I go on to the second cleanse. And given my propensity for experimentation with skin care, I know that as soon as I finish these containers, I'll try another balm!
I absolutely love my Drunk Elephant balm. It is one of those items I think it’s worth the money. I use the Clinique also but reach for the drunk elephant way more often.
Some of my favorites are:
1. Estée Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm - love the texture of the balm. It’s not a bargain price but the EL website is offering 15% off one order for enrolling in their loyalty program
2.Belif Cleansing Gel Oil Enriched - in a plastic bottle with a pump and it is sold with a plastic clip to lock the pump when traveling. It’s very nice but I think it may have a small amount of citrus oil that would make it not a good choice to remove eye makeup
3. Pixi Double Cleanse developed by Caroline Hirons - it is packaged in a jar. One side is a balm cleanser that removes makeup beautifully. The other side is a creme cleanser. I like the texture of this balm cleanser very much Sold at Target in the US. If I forgot cleanser when traveling this is what I would purchase due to the accessibility of Target. A downside is one might not run out of the balm cleanser and creme cleanser at the same time. I think it is priced in the $20-25 range
Thank you for the very thoughtful and thorough review Shelly!!!
I'm with you on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing balm - I think it's my favourite of the balms. Have you tried the shu uemura ultim8 cleansing balm or oil? Those are my holy grails - particularly the oil. I agree that the Pixi Caroline Hirons is a good workhorse combination, but I would purchase the Estee Lauder again before the Pixi.
Jennifer Ross I have not tried the shu uermua but thanks to your reply, it’s on my list to try now! Thank you
Fellow nerd and new subscriber here! I have been loving your content. The Clinique is one of my holy grails and I just got my 3rd tub of it.
Welcome, Kristin!!
The Physicians Formula's The Perfect Matcha 3-In-1 Melting Cleansing Balm is the best drugstore balm I've tried. It's a dupe for the Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm.
I like the Ethique superstar cleansing balm block and the Heimish balm. Those are so nice.
Great review & much appreciated! I have the Clinique cleansing balm , I love it, but i wish it could be used on the eyes. I use Benefit's roller lash ( my favorite) but you know how hard that is to get off 😬. At least now I know that Drunk Elephant makes one that can be used for the eyes as well as the face.
okay, this has nothing to do with cleanser but I got the magic away charlotte Tillbury concealer. What kind of magic is in there? Favorite concealer of life!!!! Thanks for the advice.
Stacey Jarrell-Sipe Is it drying or hydrating under the eyes? Been itching to try it.
@@damarisrodriguez5118 I find it hydrating, but not sticky.
Stacey Jarrell-Sipe That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you 😊
It is so great!!!! I don't know what the magic is but I hope it never goes away! Just today I finished my first tube (brought a backup with me on my trip of course!) :)
I just bought a backup of the Drunk Elephant, i am never going back at gel or foaming cleansers! Also i use very little of it because after emulsifying, i remove it with a microfiber pad.
The Clinique is my HG. I've tried the Farmacy cleanser as well, but I still prefer the Clinique. Which is a good thing since I'd stocked up on a sale and will be using it for a while still. lol
I've only used the Farmacy and Elemis cleansing balms. I've heard the Pond's is a dupe for Farmacy, but haven't used it. For the Elemis, I actually got it in a "starter kit" on Ulta (I was buying the marine cream moisturizer, and discovered that you can get the full size marine cream with a deluxe size of the cleansing balm plus a dropper bottle of the facial oil for $45, which is HALF the price of just the full-size cream alone. In case you want to try it, I totally suggest getting the kit.) I think the Elemis balm is maybe a little more oily, so if you get it in your eyes, it does cloud them, but that only happens for me if I'm really trying to get in there to take off waterproof mascara.
That kit sounds excellent! Just added it to my list. Thanks, Candi!
I use Clinique, it does fabulous job and I seem to find it on sale when I need it.
I agree about the Drunk Elephant. I do love it. I wish they made a travel size.
Thanks for reviewing these Shelly! Always trust your reviews 😎
I can't vouch on whether these two balms take off eye makeup (I use almond oil and rose water to take off my mascara) but I use 100% Pure Blood Orange Cleansing Balm and Beautycounter Cleansing Balm. Will definitely take a look at some that you reviewed. TY!
Great review, I also really like the good molecules cleansing balm. 😊
The Emma Hardie cleansing balm is a luxurious, moringa scented dream.
It does smell devine. But it's artificial fragrance 🙄 moringa doesn't smell like that. I live halfy life in Africa where moringa grows and is used as a medicine. It has a deep earthy scent. The EH its the last ingredient in the product, which irks me. As its just marketing. Elemis though. Superb.. 👌😘
I love the Good Molecules cleansing balm, but started with the one from Found (at Walmart) and it worked well for me, too.
Can you please review the new Ponds Cleansing Balm? I’ve heard mix review and I’ll love for you to try it out. It’s only $10 dlls.
Thank you, and I’m actually new at your channel and so far you’re reviews have been so helpful 😊
Hi Andrea! Yep there will definitely be a part 2 to this, because there are at least 5 more balms I want to try (Ponds is one of them!)
Thank you so much for replying 😃
Farmacy’s Green Clean is my favorite. Tried the IT Cosmetics balm and I didn’t like it as much.
I plan to try both of these!
Hi Shelly. I got a sample of the cleansing balm from Elemis and it’s great. The smell is very spa like. I like it. If you get a chance to get a sample, try it, I think you would like it too!
Sephora has a nice little kit from Elemis that includes the balm so I think I will try it that way!
Found your chanel while trying out a tiny sample jar of Good Malecules and did a search on goodle and now subscribed , been waiting on starting my own Chanel for years but not as an on going every other day thing. I dont mind fregrance in anything instead I love it! Ive p meltdown 9oz special huge jar Adrian made but it stings like hell! Thats why Im looking to something to cleanse with before a night cream when I do use a cream
It's great fun having a channel to chat with everybody about makeup and skin care :) That's my favorite part!
My top 5
Elemis neroli cleansing balm
Emma hardie cleansing balm
Clinique take the day off
Marks and spencer rose one
Body shop camomile balm
Uk list x
Elemis is my number 1 if price is no object. But I've just posted my faves and Heimish and Banilla Co take the 1st and 2nd place due to price. Not tried the M&S one and going there today! Will check it out, thanks 😀
Ooooh marks and sparks rose one! Will be checking that out
I checked out the Mark's balm. But it's tiny. Only 85 g. The K beauty ones are 120g for less £. So that's the deal breaker for me. Thanks for the suggestions tho, always useful to hear other English people's suggestions 😘
Ginger Badjie no bother thanks for k beauty suggestions. will try when my elemis runs out.
elemis seems to be only one that doesnt blurry eye me but i prefer the feel the Emma leaves on my face haven’t dipped my toe into k beauty so looking forward to trying 😊
Great review! I think I’ll stick with my Clinique!
My top fave cleansing balm is It Cosmetics Bye Bye makeup my second fave is the Amore Pacific cleansing oil (not a balm)
Thank you for this!! I have maybe one more use of my cleansing balm and need another. I've tried the First Aid Beauty one and the Urban Decay one... They are fine, but not good enough to repurchase, IMO. Thinking I need the Good Molecules one...
Yay! The sound effects for the kitty cameos are back!!!!
Ziva has stopped jumping up behind me since I don't have a light there anymore. I used to have a big filming light just off camera to the side, and Ziva would jump up there to sit in the warmth of it when I was filming :-D I'll have to find a way to get her back up there :)
Of course you know I'm using a different one! I've been using the Farmacy Green Clean and LOVE it (no odor, takes everything off even waterproof) but would love to find one maybe not so $$$ (even more then DE!). Daughter has been using the PF Perfect Matcha but I haven't tried it yet...
The farmacy one does have a smell. I couldn't handle it actually, found it unpleasant.
@@ellierk2880 Really? So weird... I have a SUPER sensitive nose! I'll have to go do a sniff test! 😂
I'm very curious to try the Farmacy one!
@@goow You'd better not.. it works really well.. and it's really $$$! 😂 I need to go steal some of my daughters PF and try it.
I'm really like the Farmacy one. I want to try the physician formula one as well.
Elf has a Hydrating Gel Melt Cleanser for $10 per jar that works very well. However, it is not a very good deal as it is a little bit more expensive, by unit pricing, than the Clinique Take the Day Off. After I'm done with the Elf balm, I'm going to try the Clinique one. Thanks for this video! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
I like Bobbi Brown EXTRA Balm Rinse Cleanser. Expensive, but I pick it up at The Cosmetics Company (outlet store for beauty) for a little cheaper. It warms as you rub it on your face and I love the scent! Oh, and when I finish the (heavy glass) tub I wash it and use it for storage for beauty stuff. :-)
I will add this one to my list! I haven't tried it - thanks, Ouisel!
@@goow I thought of you while I was at The Cosmetics Company Store the other day - they also had Clinique Take The Day Off. It was $30 plus 40% off (if you spent over $100 you got 50% off) - so it would only be $15! I picked one up and really like it!! :-)
Hi, do you use this on your eyes?
To be fair DE has twice ingredients than Clinique. 2 of the emollients in Clinique are esters, and the oil Clinique use is safflower oil so it'd be more slippy non gloppy.
I use the Yes to Coconuts cleansing balm. Renee from Gothamista recommended it in her skincare under $10 video. I don't find it makes my face itch, it doesn't dry me out, it doesn't bother my eyes, and removes everything for $9.99 \4 ounces. I have the Ponds one (my Walmart put it on clearance, not on the shelves now) and the Physician's Formula one (girls got it for me for mother's day) that I haven't tried yet. I am trying to get in the havit of using up my skin care before I open more. ☺ My Mischief started looking around when he heard Merlin start talking. I think he thought it was Gus, my 14 year old Siamese rescue. 😂
Badger cleansing oil is the BOMB!
Physicians formula has a great one. I have dry 42 year old skin.
I need to try theirs! Thanks, Angela!
Thanks for the video! What are your thoughts on Cleansing oil & how it compares to balms?
i have dhc cleansing oil its same as cleansing balms in my opinion
Angie Watson oils feel like they melt makeup better than balms.
I like both oils and balms and feel like the ones I like perform similarly. I prefer the balms for travel (less potential mess if something breaks open). The Julep Love Your Bare Skin cleansing oil is my favorite oil, but it's hard to find right now while they're restructuring after a change in ownership.
Ann McCubbin that is the one I use & I really like it!
Geek Out of Water I recently got a mini cleansing balm from Colleen Rothschild & it is good! I have been wanting to try the balm from Clinique.
