Incredibly underrated performance of this aria! She is sublime! Such precision but also emotion with such a smooth, buttery tone. And her diction🤌 Super cool costuming and set as well. Love the Rorschach influence
You should see her costume for her second aria, poor thing. The Queen of the night with a black T-shirt and trousers, moving furniture. Very strange production.
In addition to the wonderful melody and the sweet and beautiful voice... This is the most beautiful dress that a Queen of the Night has ever worn in a performance of "Die Zauberflöte" Simply Magnificent!!! Sabine Shined in this performance!!! 🤍🌙
The first time I heard this was a recording of Lucia Popp, so she is my ultimate favorite and the benchmark to which I compare all others. I do really love Sabine a lot…I’d love to see her live!
Je regarde ce video en boucle, c'est tellement jolie, l'interpretation, le scenario, les costumes, la chorégraphie... Cette production est une expérience de la perfection
How beautiful, it sounds amazing to me, I love her personality and how she tackled this virtuous aria, despite the high degree of constriction, and almost inexistent trills.
"It is my profound conviction that Mozart is the highest, the culminating point which beauty has reached in the sphere of music. Nobody has made me cry and thrill with joy, sensing my proximity to something that we call the ideal, in the way that he has…" (Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky) I feel the same way. ❤
Mozart has got that charming character of himself to be noticed every piece of his own music even when the listener doesnt really know if it is his music !
This is 2 years old at this point? She should have a major career by now, if anyone’s got common sense. Terrific singing. I assume this is some classic Castellucci vibes, given the hard boiled human eggs on the lazy susan centre stage. It is beautiful, even if I have no bloody idea what the hell is going on 😂
out of tune, souffle court ( 4:29 !), vibrato n'importe comment et probablement petite voix que n'entendent que les dix premiers rangs quand la voix ne va pas sur les aigus … bref, une Reine de la Nuit de notre temps
Yeah i hear that, especially when i already heard her sing this perfectly in another performance (the one in Lyon where she wears an onion head dress).
It’s so easy to criticize that I’d love to see you performing the same area on stage. You must be pretty good, right? Show what you got and teach her how it should be done.
@@iacobellus I’m not justifying her I just want to see how good you are. Why did you respond “bullshit”? how’s that related with you and your performance? Or you just say but you don’t sing?
Diana Damrau. Not only does she have an incredible voice she also has stage presence. She just doesn’t stand there and sing. She sings and acts with emotion and truly sucks you in.
many shout here for excellence, but here there is very little excellence.....the direction is terrible (I don't like transpositions) the fiery queen of the night is conceived as a sorceress with supernatural powers and not a lady of Versailles.....the conducting is too fast and devoid of pathos....especially in the first part of the aria it must be intimate, barely whispered and not sung at full voice.....too many inaccuracies
О голосе певицы рассуждать не буду( моя Царица Ночи- Кристина Дойтеком), а вот облачение героини креативное. Царица весеннего утра, она не может склонять дочь к убийству!,😅😅😅😅
@@annapimentel4412 Yeah. It's not just about being understandable. She's native French and actually the way she pronounces French pieces doesn't sound classical either.
@@elmaestro91 I understand what you mean, but is that a bad thing? Cause the message actually passes through so well the way she doest it. Even better in that regard from others I've heard. I understand as well that both our opinions can be a matter of taste.
Are you a native German speaker? I was wondering who you are comparing her to. I am actually a German mother tongue and I had absolutely no difficulty whatsoever understanding her German. I think also that her work on the line is so outstanding, that the message is conveyed by all the other means Mozart and his librettist intended.
@@hannagarcialanda4167 I am not. As I mentioned previously, it's not just about being understood. There's a certain style of diction used on the opera stage. The main culprits are her -ch/ig and -hr sounds. Perfectly fine for speaking in some regions but not used that way on the stage.

German song, French inspired outfit. Good collab. Great
This is inhuman. Sabine is a phenomenal talent and a gift to the world.
She needs an award for holding up that headress

Those costumes! Amazing. Such a beautiful voice. Thanks for posting
every opera i’ve seen her in has the most beautiful staging and costuming i have ever witnessed. fit for such a wonderful voice
Absolutely incredible. Sabine is simply out of this world.
Oh, you should really listen to some old renditions of the aria...
You should listen to a soprano who can properly trill and is a dramatic coloratura

The naked people coming out of the cocoons really distracts from the solo. Very bad staging for a solo.
