good work mate! You literally cant win them all, ive had my arse handed to me way more than ive tasted that sweet sweet PB. Keep consistent and I guarentee you that PB will fall in no time, probably on some random training!
Wait- you got a 25, WHILE tackling grinding uphills and walking twice!? Sounds like a PB to me! 😂 Honestly, as a trail runner, I've learned the importance of comparing like with like. Elevation, footing, and weather all have a huge part to play, along with our personal state. A 25 on that course absolutely would be a faster time on a flatter course. Be proud, that's an excellent time!
Thanks Kelly, I think I just expect so much of myself. I actually like being this way, kind of. It’s the bit in me that pushes on for the next goal. Perhaps sometimes I need to reflect more and appreciate where I’ve got to 😊
There was a time, not all that long ago, where 25:00 felt like a massive result. Might not have got what you wanted this time, but a great waypoint and opportunity to look at how far you've come. Solid effort!
Mate, don't beat yourself up about it, you'll hate running if you do that, just enjoy it, it's not all about fast times, I just run at the weekend for fitness,..... Love the videos by the way,.....
It seemed to have rained recently at your place. I always struggle hard in such high humidity conditions. And seems really windy. The weather was against you, too.
Freddy! 25 flat is still a massive accomplishment that I am amazed you have achieved after all the work and consistent effort you have put in! Hats off mate
If you don't like the coffee taste, there a coffeine pills. I bought them in a can of 100 (200) for a few bucks and they last forever. I take them on travel days (I'm a miser and don't want to waste money and time while jogwalking the cities), or when it's too hot outside for hot drinks. Another benefit for long distance runners' guts: you know exactly that one pill contains exactly 200 mg of coffeine unlike in brewed cups where it highly unsure how much will be in it. Depends on the coffee type robusta or arabica, and the method of extraction.
There’s a really flat & fast 5k on Newcastle quayside in April & August - I got my PB there when it was on in April and really recommend it! Also, try the Riverside parkrun in Chester-Le-Street as that’s also pretty flat.
Not very safe looking underfoot, holes cracks etc. When you said: "it all went pearshaped round that corner". My head went to Glass half empty mode (visiaons of a face plant). Surley a 25 minute 5k made the Glass half full again. So, no injuries good - Sorted mate.
Cheers Daniel, I was convinced I had the 24:30 in me, the pear shaped bit was really referring to losing my head. All good now, just where I was at the time 😊
I’ve just watched this video as I am attempting this on Sunday but the 10k. Aiming for a time of 70 minutes. I think I’ll be happy to just complete it!
@@freddyruns well I finished it 🤣🤣 it was really hard. Didn’t get my pb. But I’m happy that I did it. I actually finished last out of 52 people with 1 hour 20. Which in hindsight is only 10 minutes slower than I was aiming for. Started and finished so it was still a win.
Sorry you didn't get your time, but don't take your eye off how far you have come. 25 is a great time and very close to what you were targeting. No shame. Great effort. 👏
That is the ugliest course I have ever seen. It looks like a makeshift airfield in 1943 Nazi Germany. We can never succeed without defeat. Freddy, you got to run, the amount of runners on this planet who would give anything to be able to run a 25 min 5k. Never give up and all your dreams will come true.
When we run down a narrow trail or bike path, with trees or fences near by, we get a very real feeling of movement, it is great feedback, but on a airfield? Terrible.

Thanks Jamie, all a part of the learning curve 😊

Long straights can be a nightmare, but you'll be ready for it next time! Keep clocking up those solid results.👍
It’ll come eventually, I’ll keep enjoying the process though 😊

Fair point! I would have loved this time 6 months ago. Think it shows how much more I want though 😊
Be proud of your determination! Building blocks to the goal! 🏃
Thank you ☺️

I’m going to go along with this one and blame the rain 😊

Thanks Noah! Every day is a step closer to where I want to be 😊
1 week of rest and that's a 23:59, remember that - great job and thanks for the content!
😳😳😳😳😳
Unlucky mate, but still should be proud of that time! And yes the T-Shirt looked banging “as the kids say” 👏😂
Best running top there is! Fact!
Top work mate - as I’ve said still your 2nd quickest 5k ever and on a tricky course. Quayside 24th April if you enter and you will smash it
Thanks Steve! 😊
Great to meet you mate, and you should be proud of yourself. That was a great time on a tough course. That PB will come. Love the t shirt as well
Thanks Rich, great to meet you both mate. No doubt see you at Blyth sometime soon 👍😊
@@freddyruns I'm sure you will 👍
The defeats make the victories all the more sweeter. Not every run can be a PB. Plenty more opportunities when you don’t have to drive to Birmingham.
100% - we go again 😊
Great video Freddy and a great effort still. You will get your sub 25 just keep plugging away your attitude is brilliant - all the best 👍🏻🏃♂️💨💨💨
I got it a few weeks back mate 😊 - ua-cam.com/video/E63W-LhPywA/v-deo.html
@@freddyruns 😂😂sorry, I meant you’ll get the sub 24:30 🫣🫣 To be fair that didn’t look the easiest course either to set a new PB on as well 👍🏻
Well done buddy, next time you have to come to MK for work we can try a sub 25?
Would love that Tom!

😮 This comment hurts my coffee loving soul!!! 😂😂
Something to look in to 👍😊
Long straights like that would really mess with me too - give me some corners to hide how far I've got to go 😂
Absolutely!!

I almost ran this last month, but had to go away with work! ☺️

Definitely not my favourite course 😊

@@freddyruns 😊definitely enjoyed it. Lovely warm day and then had THE nicest coffee and brownie afterwards from the coffee van 😋

Wouldn’t be surprised if you broke 25:00 on your next 5k.

Weirdly enough, the airfield was initially built in 1939 and used as a bomber airfield. Definitely not my cup of tea for a racing spot though
