I like the equality of movement . Both man and woman twirl and show off their steps to each other as well as dancing hand in hand. Lovely dance and fun music too.
While I agree that it is totally charming that they do the same movements and dance hand in hand, I think what you mean is "equity" rather than "equality". Partners can be equal without being the same or doing the same things. Here the parts are not just equal, but identical. And I personally find that even in dances with specified gender roles, or just roles in general unspecified by gender, there is still equality; different parts but equally important, like in a waltz.
Well, they need have fun, with the full taxes, the holy inquisition, the burn a human to make some put random leafs in a bowl... That people suffer to much, so, yes, they need it

Medieval times were more sexually free than nowadays in many ways. The mores only changed with the coming of Protestantism and especially in the 19th century England.
These dancers manage to keep their hands touching when one partner twirls beneath the other's upraised arm, while in most other videos of this dance, the hands usually part at that moment, especially when the man is supposed to be twirling under the woman's arm. Congrats for maintaining contact! I also like that later on in this video, a second couple joins them in this dance. Quite a cheerful tune, too!

That looks like great fun! Nobody can tell me that the people of the middle ages didn't know how to have a good time.

I noted that the gentleman's choreography was particularly elegant and he showed great poise.

Very historic and educational in to a bit of musicology and dance down through the ages.

A version of Saltarello is still danced as a popular dance among rural folk in modern Italy but it is rougher than this.
