I made my first chatacter a Half-orc ranger and I just reached level 30 a couple of hours ago. I've been playing a little over a month, but I'm pretty satisfied with the versatility the class offers, which is why I keel going back to him when I try out different classes.
If you're a veteran in most mmorpgs, you'd know ranged classes have lower base atk &defence and melee classes have higher stats in general because they have to get close up. DPS wise, if melee can stay close to their target all the time they'd win but sadly targets move all the time and you have to move away from its hit zone as well, so ranged class it is, if you want it easy. Picking the right skill tree to do dps is the answer you're looking for, it doesn't matter if you picked the lowest dps class because they have other strengths to compensate. A strong offence is a good defense and vice versa, I prefer a well balanced build so I don't get killed easily while I do a fair amount of damage to kill. Some classes are worth to be built offensively ( good defence) and some are better built all rounded depending on the skillset you have.
True. The glass cannon builds are quickly becoming a thing of the past. All that DPS means nothing if you are squishy, which is why I never got the advice to go all-in on HP and nothing else. Mod 20 I think will finally kill that debate.
YAY Rangers.. we are always low key helping out but never at the top of the meta. Well, maybe briefly with the peak Trapper build. Man.. a lot had changed in one mod! Now in Mod 19 Wizards have been nerfed after being extremely overpowered. Clerics still do massive burst damage. Rogues are also in a nice spot, especially for PvP. The differences really come out when you compare AoE vs ST. For the PvE grind and farming, I love mob clear with my Ranger, Wizard, and Warlock. Barbarians have a surprising amount of AoE too. Clerics have Sun Burst (lol) and the Spear. They're definitely lacking in mob clear IMHO. So I guess it depends where you will spend most of your time: trials, epic dungeons, or "top side".. well, I guess PvP is a thing too.....
So I played GF back in Mod 15 with the good combat system. It was hard af being a DPS back than, I did it tho i wanted a dps GF and I got him to the top of the leaderboard on most queues. Now its EZ asf with this new cookie cutter paragon path.
I kinda miss the old feat system. Many choices were broken or traps.. but it felt like there was much more individuality and investment in specific classes. The boons you got from specific campaigns made the grind and payoff more appealing too. That said, it sucked for casuals and new players so I get it: something had to give...
you never bothered to mention the aoe or single target for each class! my cleric can trash mob and dps any single...cw not much fot trash mobs but i love mine also....rogue deff....single target.......my ranger can mob an single same... good video but you need tp put in more info on races for the classes and discuss aoe or st j/s if you aint made it an tried it cant discuss it lol good vid! keep it up
dps is simple this game is all about stats now if you dont have the right stats you wont do dps pure and simple as that. To many ppl look at item lvl score which does nothing for you. Stats is the way forward for dps now.

I'm a barb asw... But as he mentioned the fact we aren't dps class only u get limited a bit... Specially with sure strike nerf... U feel kinda useless doibg relentless to bosses and actually that's where u loose the dps classement... Cuz other classes have at-wills for single and at wills for trash... I think barb was fun back at ravenloft... Then... Shit happens
In the end cryptic will eventually nerf to the ground some classes and buff some others, plus they'll add another class this year so you just have to decide based on how you like to play
Cleric has as many offensive Comp slots as the full damages so saying all three dual healers have that disadvantage is incorrect. Stating which classes are good at mob and single target would have been helpful. Also through mod 19 cleric received no nerf to it's damage, others got buffs so all are closer together but cleric is def not at the bottom it's obvious you don't play end game DC.
You are so wrong about the fighter. I have one 200k+ power. Trust me, it's a scary dd classes in terms of both - aoe and single target. But you are right, tha majority of dreadnoughts out there are trash because ppl can't play properly.
Paly got the shaft, I'd say. It was bad enough when our divine barriers were lessened.. but the lower magnitude of our heals means you really gotta crit and invest in outgoing healing to close the gap and even then, it is not as sexy. Warlock I think dominates healing now. Cleric is close behind and then there is a big gap. Paly's can still do work but we are lacking that burst healing out the gate. I used to heal cocoons with one or two divine touches. Now I have to spam it.. pffftt.. making me work like that - shame! LOL
how is end game for new players? I know that most games like this people with grind the new dungeons that are out, but for new players you have to grind older content first. Usually old content is dead.
Any class is viable as dps now that the game has jumped the shark and gone full pay to win. With the Compy going up in the Zen market you can't argue that anymore.
You have to differ between AoE and ST. For example the CW is one of the best classes for ST, but maybe the worst class for AoE. And you have to look at the range between good and bad players. For example the TR is very easy to play. So they deal a consistent damage. But a skilled DC can outdamage a skilled TR very easy. But not skilled DCs can be very weak.
