      You must've heard of Karla Homolka then? Not only did she get away with the murder of her own sister Tammy helping her hubby Paul Bernado rape and torture her but also two other young innocent girls as well. She was able to plea bargain with the judicial system and eventually got her ass out of jail. Whilst she was in jail though she was able to get a degree thanks to the Canadian judicial system. She even wrote a book about the events. Monetizing off of the pain and suffering of the victims.>:-( The Canadian judicial system even put her on the witness relocation program where she had a new identity and home. She remarried and now resides in Quebec amongst other places. What a country we live in eh?...where it rewards the criminals and the *victims continue to suffer(families the deceased)?!!!

      @@paulconsiglio2320 I have watched a documentary about her the other day. I was gob smacked. She has 2 kids now. I feel sorry for her children having a psychopath mum. She should have been locked away for life.The police found video tapes with her participating in sexual sadism and torture with her husband. She only got 12yrs. She will not change not really. And why are all those criminal getting a new identity? Why should they be protected? Australian justice system is not much better then Canadian. The Serbian Government here is trying to pass a bill for all pedophiles, rapists who kill get a life sentence with out parole. I hope this gets passed through the parliament.

    Poor John Dick, and Evelyn's baby boy! I will never understand a mother killing her own child. And although John did not make much money, he was caring, handsome and supportive. It's like... Lady, what more do you need?!! I also wonder what became of her daughter.

      It's not entirely uncommon for status-conscious females to murder their own children of inconvenience. There's a now-infamous Norwegian US immigrant who murdered a few of her own children for life insurance money. Some prominent British noblewomen who shall remain nameless enjoy illustrious careers as high-class prostitutes, and they did ritually sacrifice their out-of-wedlock newborns. And to beat all, one of these women married the infant's father afterwards. I really marvel at people who can turn their emotions and principles on and off like a light switch, to meet any desired socioeconomic outcome.

I knew someone who found a suicide victim hanging in a tree while they were hiking. One thing that came out over the years, was that Evelyn had "dealings" of the intimate kind with many wealthy and prominent men in the city. They were petrified of the information she had about them. You can see by the way justice was served ( or not) that influence from higher up was in play.

    I find it absolutely shocking that the government gave her a pardon based on Mercy. There was so much evidence against her that was lost because of neglectful police work yet none the last the evidence was still there just not admissible in court. She's been found guilty of murdering her newborn son yet they still feel She's Fit for mercy. I'm very interested in hearing the details around that decision. As well as who gave her the new identity so she could go and live out her life in peace. That sure doesn't happen anymore.

      Mercy for what? She showed no mercy to that poor little baby or to John? Why should any have been shown to her? I just don’t get the world sometimes. Only reason I hope that there is an afterlife, so that justice may somewhere down the line be done.

    So, back in 2006 I met a really cute guy in Toronto who took me on a date a few days later in Hamilton to the Escarpment. I joked about being taken to where he hid all the bodies, and he teased me for being morbid.
    Welp, apparently someone had thought the same thing about 60 years prior, Chris!

    Evelyn's parents are partly responsible, the way I see it. They're the ones that raised her that way.

    • @LuisaD93
      @LuisaD93 5 років тому +11

      Always blame the parents. It’s not always the parents faults. At some point in your adult life you must take responsibility for your actions once you become aware of right and wrong . I had a horrible child . A barbaric childhood raised by two divorced alcoholics whose mother beat us regularly and horribly with her bare hands and anything she could get her hands on and I mean anything. We were also punished in barbaric ways and not only when drunk . We had bruises, cuts , broken bones and lived in abstract fear of this crazy woman. We were often the target of her rage . Her rage at life. Of being a single mother to four young children. Frustration over her failed many attempts at a relationship with our playboy father. Her finances etc. we were terrified, physically and emotionally abused and often starved while my mother lie for days in bed not feeding us especially after drinking ferociously on weekends. Yet us four never grew up to hurt , murder, or crime . We took what we went through and Let it make us stronger and learned from it . We didn’t remake history by doing exactly the same to our children. Are we scarred? Absolutely. Did we struggle? Still do . Do we hate our mother? At times yes we did and we expressed that as we became adults . But we’ve also forgiven her . As adults you make the choices . Some people are inherently born however they turn out . They have their own minds , their own souls and own thought process . I agree that not all children live ideal lives but it’s not always the parents fault . You see many parents who were ideal parents whose children had the ideal childhood but still grew up to become murderers , rapists, sociopaths etc. stop laying all the blame on parents.

      @@LuisaD93 First of all, I'm sorry for the abuse you suffered as a child. I'm glad that you were able to survive it. And it irritates me to no end when people use their past abuse as an excuse when they commit crimes when there are people who have been abused and lead normal, crime free lives. In this case though, her parents spoiled her too much and her father did help her dispose of the body.
