When I start a new park, I lay down paths first then add rides. Then I let my imagination do the rest. It's always frustrating for me when I start a new park, because I want everything to be perfect. The last 3 parks I made look very similar and I need to break out of that mold.
Wow, this is SO HELPFUL! I never thought of making the paths first except for when I've already started and are just extended existing paths. Thanks a TON! I'm already rewatching this one. :)
This video was like a lightbulb suddenly came on, most helpful one yet. Might be asking too much but how about a short series of videos showing a small park build where we can copy you, to get us planco noobs going?
Awesome series thank you. I have come back to PC after a break and realised I love the creativity and the feeling this game gives me. Your tips and tricks really help thank you. One thing I caught myself with today was starting a new park deciding on a theme to run through such as building colours/design etc. any tips you have on how to decide and create a theme throughout would be really helpful!
okay so your voice is amazing, but I have a question... What all should be on my checklist? How many attractions is enough - does it depend on park size? If so, is there like a "park size to attraction quantity" chart or a calculator or document or something? I really quite honestly haven't got a clue what I'm doing.
Haha! Thank you. So no, there's no hard rules but your best bet is to look at parks of the same size IRL. See how many flats and coasters they have. I also recommend checking out Nerdchacho's channel as he has real world experience and tonnes of great content.
Just start off doing simple things and then expand as you gain experience. My self-developed list includes placing bins, benches, lights, daytime scenery and landscaping, nighttime lighting, staff buildings, work rosters, etc. However, it would be cool to see a checklist from the experts.
Really late to this as my sons recently got me addicted to the game. Hopefully someone will see this. He’s sure that these channels use mods but I’ve read there aren’t mods for this game. If that’s the case are the things like fields and hedgerows you show at the start in a DLC? I think my age has shrivelled up my creativity but I’m trying hard. My son loves to make and ride coasters but I’ve fell in love with trying to detail and just can’t find some of the items you seem to use. Thanks for the content
Hello! You are correct, mods are limited in the game and I don't use them. If there are items you don't recognise, they could either be from one of the many DLCs or they are TMTK items which are custom assets created by the community and can be downloaded from the Steam Workshop. Just look up Thememaker's Toolkit. Hope that helps and enjoy playing!
@@MoominLittlesocks Brill, thanks for that. I did end up looking at the TMTK thing but that seems way above what I can do but after reading your comment I've found the stuff in the workshop. Don't think I'll ever create some of the works of art you youtubers do but this will keep me going for a while!! Thanks again!
I have a suggestion.. speaking of dark rides, there’s a dark ride on Steam called the IT Float but it’s saved as a park. I’d like to copy the blueprint for it but there’s over the 4000 pieces. Is there a way you can check it out and try to re-make it?
hello there fine and totally not sarcastic good sir! 2 questions for you, you're welcome, wasting some time :) One, how do I know the park size (so 60x60) Two, how do I build the wheel and spoke pattern? thanks :D
Hello!! Well providing you're (hopefully) on PC, you can use the scenario editor to edit the park dimensions and set it manually. As for wheel and spoke it's literally a large circular exterior path with connecting paths in the middle. I might have talked about it in my pathing video... Can't actually remember 😅
Moo, this vid in particular really shaped how I approached my newest park I’ve been building and it’s a game changer. Was wondering.. I’m working on a new UA-cam series to show how I’ve been building my new park out and I’d love to credit this video in particular and point viewers to it for more details. Would that be alright by you? I’d include a little footage with credit in the lower thirds, the annotated link in video, and link in bio but lemme know if you’d want credit listed in any specific way! Thanks again so much for all you do!
@@MoominLittlesocks No worries! I pushed the first vid out quick but there'll be many more places I get to shout you and many others out. Standing on the shoulders of giants in all my park builds so thank you!!
I want to know how to build a realistic theme park and rollercoaster because I’m having difficulties on both. Like I don’t know what special tracks to use it says use them sparingly. And another issue is I’m trying to use scenery correctly. So could you please help me

THE STORY OF MY LIFE. Place 3 rides few drink food maybe all that with scenery then I start to expand and then just end up restarting 🤦♂️

Take a look at 'A Very British Park' and 'Little Rock Ridge'. Two of my mini-park build series :)

Thank you so much for these brilliant ideas! The one that I always struggled at was the pathing, This helps so much :)
Glad I ran across this! Perfect timing, I'm just starting a new park! Subbed to the channel as well!
Ooh surprise moomin vid! Always welcome

Good I found this before I started my new park
Thank you this is very helpful
Love your videos always perfect
How do you even build a car park? I’m a console player and never even knew that cars existed in the game
Never build a full park I struggle in the beginning 😅 it’s so overwhelming

Just trying this game before PC@ comes out. thanks so mch for this video. only one q. how did you changed the staffs uniform??
Just click on the staff member and you'll see colour options.

I honestly have trouble with in-between attractions and I end up with a lot of empty spaces

Are you sure about that 60x60 map size ?
Moomin does in 3 mins what took me 14 Episodes... :D
I like to waffle... Can I have some top tips on being succinct please?

Dark rides
when saying 60 by 60 what do you mean in standards of width and hieght
I'm talking about width and length and that's grid spaces.
I want to know how to build a realistic theme park and rollercoaster because I’m having difficulties on both. Like I don’t know what special tracks to use it says use them sparingly. And another issue is I’m trying to use scenery correctly. So could you please help me
I just lay some path build some rides and shops detail it then move on. I don’t really have a plan I just wing it as I go along.
I have a question that i cant seem to find an answer for: How do you get the controllable first person view?
If you're on PC, rename a guest/staff member 'tegidcam'. If on console, it's 'plipcam'.
Some tips for us console players would be nice( I don't use mouse and keyboard either)
What do you mean 60x60?
Grid squares.
@@MoominLittlesocks thank you !
