У нас по соседству у ребят был такой бурого, такого медвежъего цвета, поджарый, без малейшего намека на дисплозию, двигался как на пружинах, все собаки стаей кидались на него, а он даже внимания на них не обращал, это были для него не соперники.

You can purchase a short haired type -they are very well at hot season - but available only in Georgia Caucasus!

I have a mountain shepherd that guards my home. She lives inside 99% of the time and my house is very well heated, our wood stove can cook us. Pretty sure my house is hotter than Florida and there's no problem with my dog overheating.
FL has 80% humidity all seasons, feel guilty.

Their Ancestors hunt to their prey for survive Caucasian Shepherds Dogs ( Caucasian Mountain Dogs ) ( North Caucasian Wolfhounds ) ( Caucasian Wolfhounds ) ( Caucasian Volkodav ) They're Predators They need to hunt their prey Wild Boar 🐗 and Wolves and Bears and Lynxes and Pumas and other Predators and other Herbivores
We do have those and they warn us when they are near! Great guardians of our flock

Are they fit? Like can they run sizeable distances without being gassed. I know it's a weird question but a lot of Caucasian shepherds these days can't even run 100m. Your dogs look great and very healthy!
Thank you for the complement, sorry it took so long to get back. It really depends on the weather or the situation. They will run all day long in the winter.

I run with mine. Year round. She definitely prefers cooler temps but does quite well in warmer weather for shorter distances. Also, most dogs will become winded after a 100 yrd all out sprint, excepting several of the sight hounds ( greyhounds for ex.). However my girl will pace my stride for several miles without effort in cooler temps. Just like people, one's stamina develops with consistency in traning and high quality nutrition.
