We have the right to not have to breathe in the filthy disgusting second hand smoke. I'm dealing with a neighbour who moved in a few days ago, he is the only smoker and my unit stinks. I am very sensitive to it and my asthma has been really bad ever since he moved in. It's after 2am and I am awake because my breathingb i s really bad. Going to see the retirement village tomorrow to see what she can do. I like clean fresh air and do not want to try and seal up my unit and run sir filters 24/7 because of one inconsiderate man with a cilthy unhealthy habbit. Smokers are now the minority. The govt shoukd NOT pay forcany smoking related healthcare costs either. We all know how bad smoking is so there is no excuse. There are plenty of govt funded quit programs. My rights to not be sick from it beat his feeble right to puff away (and its the cheapest stinkiest pouch tobacco too).
There should be separate apartment buildings, one for non-smokers and one for smokers. That way all the smokers can smell each other’s shit and have no rights to complain about the neighbors!
I am highly allergic to smoke. I lose my voice after a couple of hours of being exposed to 2nd hand smoke and cancer runs in my family. I understand how this person feels about neighbor smoking. Cigarette smoke is nasty.
This is a big issue. If people want to harm their health why should they be allowed to harm yours as well. We have children here, and too many neighbors crowded in one tiny townhouse and they all smoke.
