Silence in cabin is due to rear mounted engine in Volvo bus. To experience sound you will have to travel in the last row of seat/berth. In ashok Leyland or bharat Benz only the driver cabin will be noisy and passenger side is more silent.
Secondly there is no propeller shaft from the front or universal joint in Volvo bus which usually is responsible for humming or low frequency sound in Ashok Leyland buses that can cause irritation.
Regarding suspension all wheels of Volvo bus gets variable pressure air suspension. It is computer controlled and adjusts the air pressure in the suspension system depending on passenger load. The suspension can also be adjusted to lower the bus height.
Adding to the suspension Volvo multi axle buses have independent rear tag axle which can move on its own without moving the other side of the axle. This gives higher wheel articulation which in turn provides excellent ride quality inside the cabin. That's why Volvo multi axle suspension is un-matchable (kappal).

Volvo multiaxle buses kappal madhiri medhandhu poradhukku innoru mukkiya kaaranam frontla irukkura dual diesel compartments, each 350l capacity (total 700l).
When I used to travel in KPN from Hyd to Mdu, after crossing Blr, we can feel more lightness in the front bcos of low diesel level. But after refilling in Salem, vandi highwaysla apdiye amanju (more grounded) odum paarunga.. adhellam vaarthaila vivarikka mudiyaadhu.. anubavichu thaan paakkanum.. that's exactly the feel of kappal madhiri medhandhu poradhu.. esp even on the toll plaza speedbreakers..
I still remember KPN driver telling the bunk guy, *Dei nee oru pakkam mattum gun maatti diesel pudichu naanga ennikki ooru poi serradhu.. adhu ottagam madhiri da (in terms of diesel consumption).. rendu pakkamum gun maatra..* nu.. bcos it was Hyd-Trivandrum bus, in which I'd travel up to Mdu..

I have travelled twice. No much compliant as a passenger but last week I took a road trip on car to Trichy and on the way YBM omni bus was too on road. To my surprise they are really driving fast. Almost constantly 130. Whereas rest of the Omni buses were riding at and around 90 to 100. Carrying so many passengers its absolutely not safe. YBM should regulate and monitor driver disciples.
