- Only last year I started using LED lighting for my video production, and really enjoyed the light weight and cool operation. Now I find these small rechargeable LED lights, primarily used for iPhone, to be versatile enough for some pro production tasks, which we will demo in our next episode.
This is not a technical product review, a feature comparison or an unboxing. It is just a first look at the COLBOR PL5 rechargeable LED lighting device.
This COLBOR PL5 was provided for my assessment, and I found it pleasingly easy to use, had a nice soft quality of light and came with everything you need right down to a soft case. We will soon release a new video showing used in a shoot.
We will be doing a random GIVE-A-WAY from the first 100 subscribers who comment.
The winner will receive this very COLBOR PL5 unit, tested in my studio
.

Great features, can be handy!
Nice video thanks, light looks a great add to my bag 👌
Interesting. Looking forward to more
Looking forward to the followup video. Thanks, Ttim.
I’m looking forward to the video showing how you might use the light.

I am really interested in these lights! I think they would be perfect for doing dog portraits and back lighting the fur.
They could be helpful. Totally cool operation.
Perfect size for a wedding photographer to carry.
Great video. Thank you for sharing the info on The Lumino PL5.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Looking forward seeing your nest video Tim.
It's about out of the editing room.
I have tried a few different LED lights. However Tim, as you point out, that one seems much brighter and more functional, than the ones I have experimented with! Good find 🙂
Great video Tim, Thanks
Thanks 👍
Looking forward to seeing how you use the light. I've used a similar light for lighting meals while dining out. A little bit of overkill, but the wait staff does take notice, and service somehow improves:)
Very funny. You can turn it down to "low" .. or better yet, use the Candellight feature. It's a nice warm flicker ..
at 1500 lux, it's a great value for the price. Most of the pocket size LED's aren't as powerful. They're very. very handy. I'd love to add one to my arsenal.
Nice little light! Would you know what the watt output would be?
Looks like a nice light, Tim. Maybe you can use your influence to suggest they add a remote control, like some leds offer. That would be even better.
Sounds good. It may get there. These things do a lot for $59.
that is a beautiful light would like to know where to get them
Link is in the description. Thanks for watching!
Tim I love it. Please send me the led light
Good Luck!

I've been wanting to try some led lights for low light portraits outdoors. Would they be powerful enough with a shoot through umbrella or softbox for this application?
Thanks for watching. No, you're not going to successfully modify this light. It wouldn't be strong enough to shoot thru or bounce. If you're truly in VERY low light you will get some effect. I'm going to start using them on my video cameras as a fill.
Cool. I love portability!!! Want to see how you are using it with an I-phone. I do a lot of vids when I travel. I enjoy piecing them together. Check out my last ones on Savannah. I was lucky enough to have Gordon give a private tour. Very Interesting. UA-cam... Connie Jarzyna.
