What you said about doctor's pay is one reason why we don't have socialized medicine in the US. We want the best people to become doctors and it costs money to become a doctor and doctors should be paid well for their expertise! The cost of good insurance is through the roof but it is worth it to get great treatment the minute you need it. Why do you think many are coming to the US from Canada for treatment? Here you don't have to wait precious months (life saving months) to get treatment or diagnosis, often what will save a life.
I agree with you. That's similar to how it is in my home country too. The UKs national health service is flawed in so many ways. Most doctors either leave the country or move to private healthcare which isn't that prominent here...yet. if everyone had insurance and doctors were being paid well it would make things a lot easier in the UK. The waiting lists are insane here. Cancer patients waiting lists!! Its messed up.

I work in the US government not very glamorous but I love my job as a nurse for veterans, The issue with taxes here in America it goes to abortions, public school indoctrination and insane woke agenda. That has to change.
I know it may not work for every song, so be selective, I mean are there topics that you can as a doctor address in through this medium of song reviewing- Absolutely. I mean Suicide was addressed with the young men putting themselves 6ft in the ground line, Obesity with the bags of fudge rounds bit, Economic status- that tends to lead to both of these issues with unhealthy foods often being more accessible, at least in the states, not sure about over there in UK, and the health damage it causes, and those are just a few of the segues that can be made. There are avenues that you can take to segue into having a health conversation.

Not here in the USA, 2 times a year we pay taxes and out of those taxes goes to the schools even if you don't have kids, you pay for trash pick up, etc.
The United States is one of the few countries without free healthcare but it has the best and most innovative healthcare on the planet. Competition and capitalism drive’s innovation. When government runs things, there is no competition and they inevitably starts to ration.

Our taxes go to defense contractors and welfare programs that truly don’t “help” people out of poverty as the programs are intended to do. Rich or middle class, the taxes are all going to places that don’t really serve to improve this country. Unfortunate but true
A huge portion of tax dollars goes to military and security. Aside from the obvious (Europe with NATO, Japan and South Korea) the U.S. has an insane amount of military bases around the world, and the U.S. also basically guarantees freedom of navigation of the world's oceans with its huge navy. It's all money spent on maintaining a global liberal world order. The U.S. pays an inordinate amount of the price tag and other countries are more able to invest in social programs because of it.
Why do we not have free healthcare? Because an example of “free healthcare”, that actually fucking works has not been divised. We love watching the experiments of y’all in the Uk and the Canadians and seeing what works and what’s doesn’t. Nothing works, not yet.

When I caught Covid in January, I took a home test….but in order to get the medicine I had to go to an urgent care center and pay $150 to get tested there and get a prescription. I had to use unpaid “sick days” off work and it took me months to get caught up. It really sucks to be a working American right now.

@@drmantikore Well federal and state taxes and social security are all taken directly from your check, and sales tax is applied to everything you buy (here in Virginia it is 5.3% but in some states it is higher). Then every year you are taxed for the things you own, such as a house or a car. I can’t own a house, but my parents do and they pay about $4000 per year in property taxes on top of their mortgage. I can only afford an insurance plan that pays out after I have spent $5000 out of pocket in a year, so it covers me if I get cancer or get hit by a bus but doesn’t help in my day-to-day life if I just need stitches or something (I actually put stitches in myself once, with fishing line). Before Obama’s Affordable Care Act, I didn’t have any health insurance at all and I was bitten by a rabid cat and had to get the shots and the hospital bill was $11,000. It finally got paid off (it took YEARS) and ruined my credit. Bear in mind, I make $25,000 per year BEFORE taxes.

Capitalism has allowed some people to get out of poverty but some people never get out. I drive a truck and work 7 Hours a week just to pay taxes! And then I get to pay property and sales tax. Which Never Ends! Nothing wrong with capitalism, just the govt!
