In the latest clip, Faizon Love continued to offer his thoughts on GoFundMe that was launched to cover AJ Johnson's funeral expenses. DJ Vlad added that he received DMs from the late comedian's children expressing outrage over the GoFundMe. Faizon Love said he skipped the funeral due to his feelings about the wife's decision to launch the fundraiser. He believed AJ Johnson's death became a money grab and was told only a couple thousand dollars was spent on the funeral despite tens of thousands of dollars in donations. Later in the clip, Faizon Love said people become an "open bank" when they pass away and encouraged viewers to have their affairs in order early on.

When my brother passed, his wife wanted me to sign the payment documents for the funeral. The Holy Spirit said no and thank God I was obedient, come to find out 3 months later she go an insurance check for 150k and was hiding it. I flew back to Chicago and made her go pay them people in full. Less than 2 months later she didn't have a dime.

Johnson case, we're sure he made lots of money during his years of being a Actor and Comedian, but he had a drug problem according to Faison Love.....A lot of money was donated to the GoFundMe page for A.J. Johnson Funeral and for his children...... Hopefully things were done in the right order whether it wasn't his wife or not......

He’s absolutely right about dishing out the money and making those arrangements. My uncle did this probably 20 years before he passed away and kept enough money to live off plus receiving his army benefits. He has a very happy life

You literally read my mind. No disrespect to Faizon but how he responded is typical of alot of us African American folks. We've gone through this a few times in my family where a loved one had no life/burial insurance and we had to pull money together for the funeral. The sad part is for the average person you really don't need a substantial policy just enough to cover final expenses which cost $20-30 or less a month.

He didn't even say anything against having insurance, he moved straight past the burial stuff. He talked about where you money and things go after you die. If you don't make a will, your stuff is just a free for all with legal battles over whatever money and property you had. That's why he said, "so when you die, it gets dished out automatically". That's also why he said, "you can have all that shit" meaning you can have all that insurance, and it doesn't matter because people will be fighting over you stuff. That's what he was talking about, not the burial stuff.

I used to say that I don't want to be cremated. But that's only because I'm alive and I've got an ego and burning looks terrible. But once I really sat on the facts for a time I learned, like a dead person, not to give a shit about what happens to my body. Ideally, I'd just like to return to nature with no embalming...just let moisture, soil and earthworms do their collective thing. But even that's an egotistical thought 🤷♂️

Insurance agent here: go online or get with your insurance agent or lawyer and create a will. This will be a notarized document that gives directions in regards to who gets the rights to your assets once you die. Life insurance is a part of that. You can set your beneficiaries and that's that. The legal system and family members looking to get rich quick can't do anything about that once it's been established unless your beneficiaries are not available then it would get messy. A 20-year half million dollar policy for a 30-year-old is roughly 35 bucks a month.

What kills me is when people get mad about funeral arrangements because they don't feel like the next of kin/insurance beneficiary (usually the spouse, children, parents, siblings) is planning the best funeral that they can with the insurance money, if they had any insurance at all. The family members that know they're not a beneficiary on the insurance, and know they're not in the will get mad because they don't want the beneficiary to have anything left after paying for the funeral expenses. The people that don't stand to gain anything from the policy want the people planning the funeral to get the most expensive casket, flowers, and limos for both parents because they're divorced, and every brother, sister, half brothers and sisters, and step- brothers and sisters, and their kids to do a tour around the decedent's favorite areas and, the cemetery in their own limos. Then they will get mad if the current wife doesn't put all of the baby momma's and the ex-step kids in the obituary. I've even seen people get mad about the person planning it not buying personalized flower arrangements for the decedent with their names on it. The people that aren't in the will want to make sure there isn't a dime left after the funeral is paid for. People don't know that you can actually rent a casket just to be able to have a open casket wake, memorial service/funeral, then you can have the person cremated after the memorial service to avoid spending between $7,000-$20,000 on a burial plot alone.. My dad didn't have any life insurance, but he was a veteran. The military will bury veterans and give them a grave plot and a plaque/grave marker at a military cemetery for free. My family still had to pay for his casket and memorial service out of pocket. His casket ran us about $13,000, $15,000 after taxes, and that was one of the least expensive caskets they had..Thankfully we didn't have to beg for help, my father's mother (my grandmother) is a retired business owner that is living pretty well in her retirement, and my sister and I were able to help my grandmother with whatever she couldn't cover. My dad had pancreatic cancer, so he was living with my grandmother who was taking care of him at her house. We were able to get him home hospice care, we're one of those lucky families that didn't have to depend on a Go Fund Me or charity to bury my dad. My father's ex-wife, my ex-stepmother sure had a lot to say about everything; that she didn't like but didn't offer to pay for anything. They weren't officially divorced so she kept saying that she was "legally by law" his next of kin and she could take over the arrangements if she wanted to. But her broke ass didn't put up no money for anything, she didn't even give us the little $200 check that social security gives you when a relative dies to at least have the obituaries printed. I just told her that she was welcome to take over a pay for whatever she didn't like. I didn't hear spit else from her bum ass. 😆 🤣
Shit is ridiculous. I think that sometimes, the less money people are used to seeing, the more stupid they get when it comes to a funeral. Tryna ball out of control for the deceased who didn't live like that when they were above ground. Regardless of what I have, I have told my wife from day one, cremate me and put the cremains in a Star Wars cereal box, and if there's no current one out, Fruity Pebbles or Crunch Berry is fine. Throw that bitch into the lake if a boat rental is cheap enough, or put it out with the trash. I do not care now, and will care even less when I'm gone. Save the insurance payouts and investments to live on after I'm dead. A fancy ass casket is not feeding my family or paying the mortgage. People forget that a man or woman might still have dependents while they're out tryna dictate to the next of kin that they should be getting a silk-lined, cherry-stained mahogany and gold plated casket, limos for 50+ niggas, fried chicken and side items for 250+. Fuck all that. Drive that raggedy Nissan Altima you been driving every other day. Get a cheap ass black suit, Burlingtons has them for $100 all day. Come to the wake, say hi and bye, and go home. Eat your own fried chicken.

I rarely even use standard punctuation at all in YT's comment section. It's not like I'm writing a 10 page term paper in APA or MLA format double spaced, with citations, footnotes and bibliography, but after looking at how my comment is formatted I can see how one would be discouraged to attempt to actually read it. I might consider separating the paragraphs so it's easier to follow.
